YEs it can be detached (pulled out of the lower part of the tube) but this is not really easy often as the boot lid gets in the way and so its quite awkward to do. we can add a electric connector so it can be totally taken away from the car. This does not come with the hoist as standard.

Can the lifting arm be detached for easier storage in the boot ?
