After 3 long weeks and 60+ hours of video editing, I bring you Harmony! The production was made as a means to celebrate melee's newfound placement into esports. As esports grows, so too will melee. In addition, Smash 4 comes out this Friday and I made this to celebrate that fact as well.

8 years later this video still makes me emotional. I remember watching this shit in class and thinking how amazing the game was and looking back now it still is. Melee is not only just a game but a life style and if you know, you know.

yoooo! My personal favorite editor in the smash community. Appreciate the comment. Also I used Reel Smart Motion Blur to give it that nice effect with magic bullet looks basic color correcting to leave it simple but also pleasant. Hmu sometime, I would love to edit 60fps smash 4 footage :)

This really takes me back to the days of Halo montages.
Phenomenal music to match the play and editing that enhances what we're watching instead of overpowering the gameplay itself. This'll be a favorite of mine for years and years.
search "Halo 3 Origins" and you will notice something similar ;)

I also like your style of editing! Usualy bright flashes, slo-mo and all that jazz makes it really hard to follow combos, but you actually managed to highlight them. Well done!
I'm gonna cry this was so beautiful. Loved the post processing and all the great effects. I know tons of hard work went into this! What's especially great is I saw most of these clips on live streams throughout the year. To see them all come together like this gives me an amazing video to share with friends so they can see how awesome the competitive scene is and how great of a game Melee is.

The best Melee combo vid I've seen so far. Really liked the effort you put into the editing.
Admittedly having the main action shift around from the left to the middle of the screen from clip to clip is sort of immersion-breaking for me to watch, although I suppose there's not much you can do to help it besides the transitions you used. Also I don't know how you feel about including sound clips from commentators or the croud, but I personally really like it and I find it brings some hype to a vid. I don't know you prefer to do things, but I'd love to see more variation in the sound editing, since you've got the visuals so well covered!

I would argue that maybe some of these filters are a bit much, but motion blur manages to make anything look better.

I feel like it's some sort of great honor for your combo to be the one featured during one of Ninji's beat drops, or for it to have some of those crazy special effects. If i ever got good enough to be on one of these vids i would have a great feast, inviting only the wealthiest and most powerful of people to celebrate my amazing triumph. And they would all come as soon as i said that some of my combos made it into Ninji's latest combo video. I would attempt to invite Ninji himself, but he would obviously be too busy making dat fuckin dolla bill, riding ALL the bitches, and pimpin a new combo video. T'would be a shame considering i had prepared his favorite egg-salad in honor of his arrival, only for it to be wasted on the President.

Does anyone know the specific remix of Sleep to Dream by Swimming with Dolphins that plays after the intro song? I love this old edit and this is was what originally turned me on to Swimming with Dolphins, but I see no reference to this specific remix of the song in the description.

Ninji, what do you use to edit? And where did you learn how to do all this (if you don't have a school background in video editing)? I love video editing, but I mostly edit pretty conservatively, and a lot of this is far beyond me. Just curious. =]

I had some basic guidance but a majority of the things I do come from self-taught concepts. I essentially only use after effects with the exception of some cinema 4d if need be. Also, sorry I misread your post initially haha.

dukemydogy It's a DnB song meaning it has a deeper focus to drum beats and bass. I recommend looking for DnB based music channels. Some artist include feint, matrix and futurebound, etc. Good luck

haha nice, i got a refurbished 2ds from nintendo for 79.99 but like 80 with shipping. i got it just to play smash haha. even tho its refurbished or used nintendo fixes it up and its worth
