Woodturning- a TOTALLY IMPROVISED project with a random pattern😳

  • Sometimes improvisation can be a pleasant surprise, especially when you combine, as in this woodturning project, a large spalted oak log with a small beech log, glued together with epoxy resin.
The finish is provided by carnauba wax.
This project is accessible to beginners who know how to use woodworking machines such as band saws, table saws and lathes.
It is in my carpentry workshop that I film my work in a calm and relaxing asmr-type atmosphere, to share my ideas with you.
    Good viewing!!

    Bon visionnage!!

Morgan… great planning for a “random” effect. It almost looks like the wood is pouring down the inside of the bowl…. And spalting in the white oak really was beautiful.

Hey Morgan. I have often commented about how much joy your craft brings me because of the beauty of your pieces. Sometimes I have wept. Today I got an added bonus. For some reason, watching you hammer those pieces of wood into the holes had me laughing my head off. Thanks mate. Another splendid piece. Joel.
P.S. Totally improvised? I have a sneaking suspicion that you actually know exactly what you are doing.

I like your experiments in design. I also appreciate your experience and the care you take in dealing with the properties of the various woods you turn (no broken gouges 😉).
