Love this test but, I’d like to see the PXG black ops driver incorporated with these other drivers. Also I’d like to see you go back to the Callaway after the Cobra you seem to be swinging more aggressively as the test went on to see if/ how the numbers might change
Hi SnS Some pros have decided to shorten their drivers to 43 inches from the standard stock length. Is it possible to make a video with the same drivers, but one at standard length and one at 43 inches to see what the distance disparity is.. I think this could be very helpful
It is slightly misleading that we call it high-MOI. It's really the "standard" category. We like to group drivers into 3 categories - low spin, draw bias, and standard/high-MOI. That standard/high MOI category is what we were going for here. Our apologies if this is confusing
When talking about forgiving drivers wouldn’t you want more spin? Increase in spin tends to go straighter and not drift off as much as well as easier to control?
Excellent test, they are all winners. No matter which club anyone selects, they are all so good and not one of them is significantly longer than the other that it would change your choice of your next club you were going to hit to the green. So we can basically boils down to cosmetics, price, and just personal preference of sound and feel. But certainly Cobra for value for the money has the best price.
Can you hit a draw with big minus delofted (i.e., open face) driver, specifically Ping G425/G430? The closest I get is baby draw to mostly straight shape. Big minus setting just suits my eye best and prefer it.
It's tougher for sure. For every bit of loft you take off it opens the face. Makes it harder to draw it not impossible though just may have to put more intention into it.
How low of loft are you thinking? These models have a standard loft option of 9 degrees that can be adjusted down to as low as 7 degrees with the adjustable hosels
@@2ndswing It was a massive difference moving from a Ping G425 MAX 9 degree set at 7.5 vs. a TM Sim 8 degree set to 6 degree. And I am a fairly regular speed guy with a driver speed of around 96-100 generally. It put me into a window of a much more ideal dynamic loft. I hit up on the ball a fair amount and the 6 degree TM was the only option really. I tried the 430 LST as well it still could not compete just due to dynamic loft for my swing. The bad strikes with my TM were about as long as the good ones with the Pings, despite mishits being more consistent with the latter. But, if that's the case I'd rather take the longer driver with more front to back dispersion.
I was fitted for the Ai Smoke Max and it works great for me. Very forgiving and the ball speed has stayed up on my mishits. Interestingly, the reason I like it also is that solid grey front band on the driver. It’s similar to my previous M6 and reminds me of my old 2016 M2, which was my favorite looking driver.
@steelcityhavoc33 TSR is titanium, so I taped off everything but the crown stripped the paint to the bare metal. Then repainted it with a flat black automotive paint. I don't know if it will last, but it looks good
Callaway being higher launch and lower spin is novel. Darkspeed is finally back to LTDx forgiveness but with speed not to mention a perfect look- clean, matte, no contrasts....stock up
Thank you for watching and for the feedback! We have done several tests like that before...for this one we wanted to test all the heads with the same shaft. The Autoflex shaft we used was one of the few on hand we could use for each clubhead. When we do test with different stock shafts, we often get feedback that invalidates the test because the shafts are different. So here, we wanted to use the same one, and it's one Kevin will likely play this year. I hope this provides context on our decision here. We appreciate the feedback! - Drew
I believe it is likely that most of the viewers don't have a 107+ swing speed, nor do they have $800 for a aftermarket shaft. $600 for the OEM head and shaft is more than expensive. I'm in that cohort and I'd like to know how the OEM clubs compare heads-up? Thanks@@2ndswing
I got fitted for a Cobra driver with an Autoflex shaft 2 years ago. I'm expecting delivery of my Darkspeed head this week. I REALLY love outdriving the guys in my 4 some. They don't 😂.
The only way, and I do mean ONLY way, to be fair and accurate is: Based on number of clubs - each club gets a fair start by the subject. Each day, the subject starts the same process of swings. Rotating each club, each day. Four clubs scenario: Day 1 Ping Callaway Cobra Taylormade Day 2 Callaway Cobra Taylormade Ping ….
Thanks for watching and for the feedback - we appreciate it, sincerely. The shaft is what Kevin will likely play this year so that's what we went with. Ultimately, the important part is that we are testing all of these clubheads using the same shaft. The other option would have been to test these clubheads using different stock shafts among them. We have done that before and received questions about the validity of the test because the shaft is different. We have fun with these test videos but we also take the information and content we provide to viewers seriously. Hopefully this video was still worth your time, and hopefully our videos will be worth your time in the future. Thank you again for watching and providing your feedback. - Drew
Wish yall wouldn’t remove the swings, because the QI10 was all over the place right…. lol. Don’t remove any swings… we can’t remove swings on the golf course. Lol😂
LOL you're right, no mulligans on the course! It's a balance we try to find where we find the shots that represent the performance of the driver while simultaneously ignoring the swings that aren't representative of most swings on the course. Same thing we do in our fittings, but we just be sure to apply the same treatment to each club. With that said, we still try to discuss those bad misses if there is a relevant piece of context from them
Mizuno St Max?
Auto flex recommends a certain swing weight range as Kevin mentioned in the beginning. Did these fall in that range?
How long is the shaft?
Crushing that Cobra and that's after all the others!
The DARKSPEED is speedy!

@@2ndswing thanks.. there are many golfers under the height of 5 foot 10
Why no Mizuno ST-MAX?
Shouldn’t you be testing the QI10 max in this video?

Key word is “HIGH”. Not “MAX” MOI.
I would say the Ping 10k was the wrong one to include. Should have been the regular g430 max and not the 10k
@@2ndswingso why this choice?
@@2ndswingweird club choice

What length and swing weight did you have the auto flex shaft at?
Murdered out Cobra looks so good!
Ping 10K at the same club head spead would be the the clear winner in distance and forgiveness. And I have a Darkspeed X 😅
Where is the mizuno ST Max? Surely this has to tested too in this grouping?
Thanks Guys!

I didn't like the gloss on the qi10. that's why I got the designer series blackout with the mat black . looks sick.

I wish there were more max moi, lower lofted options.

@@giomusah2155 for the Callaway? lol! Right.
A little 3000 abralon will turn any driver into a satin/matte finish. I currently use a matte TSR2

Kevin needs to try the 0317 T
The Cobra is one sneaky snake.
Don’t have one “yet”. Going to put it up against my Paradym.
Enjoyed the video but surely when testing 'high moi' with a guy who can hit a push draw on demand!

You can't remove a bunch of shots and then call the results a dispersion pattern...
great vid as always, but i feel like Kevin is too good at golf to highlight the clubs forgiveness . he hits the fairway about every swing
2 of those drivers only have 4 shots to pull data from. Why not go 5 across the board. Pretty biased data.
"....do this again later in the year...". You mean when the next Titleist shows up????

No Mizuno? That’s unfortunate
Darkspeed is NOT to bee slept on this year
That shaft is an embarrassment
Why not just leave your fingers off the driver head. There’s a shaft you can hold and headcover lol
This is true 😂
stop removing swings!
So they're all the same, got it
Turbulators still look stupid. Need to bring a second swing to Colorado.
You lost me a autoflex 👎🏻
This video would be way better and needlessly this long without all the idol chit chat about nothing. Info otherwise is good stuff
Thanks for watching...I think? 😅
Why not test with stock shafts instead of a shaft 99% of golfers will not use. Just A THOUGHT !!🏌🏌🏌
Because it's a comparison of heads. And all the models have probably 3 or 4 different shafts and many golfers get custom shafts.
