- Johnny Depp testified in his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard on Tuesday. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed where the actress referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse." The article doesn't mention Depp by name, but the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor says it clearly refers to allegations Heard made in other forums that she suffered physical abuse at his hands. Depp denies the accusations. Heard has filed a countersuit against Depp that accuses his lawyers of defaming her at his direction.

It's pretty clear that Amber and her friends used Johnny for everything they could get then conspired against him in the most disgusting immature ways possible. This man was so giving and they all bit the hand that fed them.

I know.. at the same time, he will be loved forever for his courage because this trial isn’t just about them but the danger and the wrong to accuse someone innocent, also for people to understand that they just can’t join a movement because it’s trendy. There was no evidence. And most of all it’s proof that men can be abused by women just as much as men can abuse women.
He speaks for many people and many will relate to him, including all survivors, current victims of abuse.

Both my husband and I dealt with his ex wife during the beginning of his divorce. She was a very manipulative, controlling, verbal abusive woman. When I met my husband he was in such a depressed state from all the mistreatment from his ex. I told my husband don't ever allow anyone to treat that way and this includes me. It's really sad because now my step son is in a relationship with a woman who has same issues his mother has. We try to talk him about how it is not a healthy relationship and should get out. He is 19 and so young to be in such an abusive relationship. My heart goes out to Mr. Depp. I know how these type of women operate. My husband and I truly experienced it with his ex.

Whether its men or women, leaving an abusive relationship is so hard BECAUSE of the abuse. Its a cycle, where they get abused, but then the abuser treats them so well afterwards, and it repeats. Its very heartbreaking
I wish that the majority of actors and actresses could be like this man and think like this man. I've never heard anything like it before and was surprised he was able to give such long narratives and talk about things that weren't even part of the question asked. He really needs to stop thinking about his toxic relationship with this psycho and move forward in his life. As long as he keeps filing lawsuits, he's never going to be able to move on and heal

I love Johnny even more. No relationship is without problems but Amber was the issue here. She got with him for fame & planned her attack strategy. In her own words "no one will believe you're a victim Johnny" & she was counting on that. I "was" abused. I hid it at first then went to my therapist & doctor to help me make my way safely out of it.

It definately did me. We have so much in common from our upbringings, including location. We are 2 years apart in age and can relate to everything. The role of my parents were switched. My mom w is from olive hill Kentucky in the same area as Johnny mother. My dad is from Williamson west Virginia. Literally across the border. I am related by marriage to the Hatfields. Only difference between me and johnny is how he amazingly is a survivor of all of it. I am beyond belief of the trooper he is. I always liked JD but now I love him.
JD is truly many of us! I believe this is why he’s such an amazing actor. He’s literally a lot of us and his pains and anguishes in life came through the screen as he emoted his pain to us.

I hope she feels like crap listening to him testify about how they met and falling in love. Though being a narcissist I highly doubt it. There have been previous allegations of abuse commited by her with the woman she was dating previously. With everything I’ve heard about her she sounds like a nightmare. Also I don’t know if I’m hearing things but I’m British and he sounds a little British.
I noticed his accent on the stand too. I think perhaps it's from being an actor and learning different dialects? He said he was born in Kentucky, so it's definitely an accent that he's acquired as an adult. And, yes, Heard is definitely a narcissist (or other Cluster B disorder) and shows no remorse. Depp should really just cut his losses, move on with his life and stop rehashing his toxic relationship with this woman. He can't heal until he does so, this trial is just delaying that.

I have just loved Johnny and the way he played his characters in each movie ever since he was a young man. I’ve always believed he was a nice guy and after hearing him today, I love him even more and have not one doubt that he’s a good man.
Amber Heard is finished as an actress. She will never achieve the stardom she wanted so badly and I think she knows it! I am sure that she saw herself as an actress that would rise to great levels, but I’ve always felt she was snooty and my feelings have been confirmed. Furthermore, she is not and will not ever be the kind, caring, and humble person that Johnny is.
The testimonies of the other witnesses were all in favor of Johnny, but after Johnny’s testimony today, he needs no words from anyone else. His testimony was so honest and so profound. Nearly the entire time he spoke, I just wanted to hug him and tell him that everything will be alright. Shame on Amber Heard.
Amber had let the small amount of fame she had garnered go to her head. She thought her fan base would never let her fall, but she greatly over estimated her importance and greatly underestimated the importance of Johnny. Today marks the end of Amber Heard and I am confident that Johnny will be a bigger celebrity than he is… if that’s possible. Miss Smartie pants poked the bear and the bear has ripped her apart and laid her to rest and let me say, she is getting everything she deserves.
As I look at Amber sitting there, she looks so detached, even sleepy. She reminds me of one of those girls in high school that thought she was the bell of the ball. Unfortunately I was on Amber’s side when this first came out, as I’m sure many were. The whole story really turned me against Depp when before I didn’t really have an opinion of him, and boy do I feel bad for that now. I’m not ashamed to have believed a woman’s claim of domestic violence, I’m ashamed that I didn’t question it more in my mind and disgusted that Heard so willingly damaged the reputation of victims. It’s because of people like her that we have to use some degree of doubt when listening to their stories, etc.
It’s sad that we cannot believe everyone who makes claims, but this whole case has taught me to support victims but be a lot more wary of the supposed truth. I’ll be a lot less quick to come to a conclusion in the future, and a lot more mindful of listening to both sides and seeing what the evidence shows.
We must use our critical thinking. I could see how shallow and fraudulent she was from day one. A lot of us knew she was lying from the beginning, maybe because we know narcissists personally (unfortunately). I’m glad you finally saw Amber Heard’s true colours and joined us other truth seekers. I’m glad you were able to see the truth. I think in our society thats one of the big problems, you can’t believe someone just because of their gender, not saying that’s what you did but a lot of people do. People need to wait and hear the facts before making assumptions on who to believe. Innocent until proven guilty…. And unfortunately a lot of people believed her right away and thought the worst of him. What makes this so much worse is he is the actual victim and not only did he have to go through that but then have so many people believing that he abused his abuser. Thats so awful. I pray that the jury is able to see through her facade as well.
When she keeps asking about his acting career, why is nobody saying 'objection your honour, irrelevant'?

JD’s team of attorneys have succeeded in showing the human being and “depth” of this man. To his soul. It started out rough but the attorneys have been able to open them up to let the light in the show every side of this man. Good work and they definitely are an amazing and caring of their client. I believe Good always wins over bad in the end and maybe I did learn that from Disney movies when I was little.
This man made a mistake that has caused him a lot. I don’t think he’ll ever let superficial looks take him anywhere again. He was fooled and he’s suffering because of it. He doesn’t deserve what’s been done to him after working so hard his entire life where is dark and he still at his age has not allowed his ego to be inflated like this woman who’s been jaded by men and doesn’t even like men and just wants money and fame. They weren’t compatible for that reason alone.
I have faith in the outcome. This is not a movie this is real life. And this man deserves his life back because he has a good heart and I was done nothing wrong.

I have no idea what the outcome of the trial will be, but I have not been impressed with his attorneys. Most of the testimony they have submitted has not exactly painted Depp in a positive light and his testimony on the witness stand was very rambling and seemed off topic. Then after all of this, Heard's attorneys will get to present their side and they will paint him in an even more negative light. I'm just being honest with my opinion here and I say this as someone who abhors Heard.

@@TheRealOne87 His own psychologist mentioned their fights and his name calling and him hitting Heard (though that was Heard that reported it). His attorneys are also bringing up a lot of his dirt (drug use, etc). I realize they are trying to beat the defense team to the punch, but I'm just saying that his team isn't painting him in the best light. And then Heard's team is going to drag him through the mud and that will be the last thing the jury hears. I hope things work out okay in the end, but going to trial should always be a last resort.
