Undoubtedly Swamy is brilliant and accomplished hard core Indian. Age is against him to be in the cabinet as per the prescribed policy of NDA since 2014. Any breach to accommodate Swamy would tantamount to violation of principles causing embarrassment to both Swamy as well as NAMO. I would like to believe views of Swamy are given due weight-age as also endorsed by him whenever he approached the PM.
Regarding the health of our economy, I would like to await views of reputed stalwarts like Prof Vaidyanathan, former faculty member IIMB, Sanjeev Sanyal, Mr Gurumurthy, Prof Vivek DebRoy.....to validate Swamy's perspective as we learn best when listen to others analysis objectively.

I had the same view , reducing taxes for companies does not help the common man. We need to increase demand and for that the common man should have more money.
Dr Swamy 's views on piecemeal reforms made without a comprehension of the total effects are sound . Why was personal income tax not reformed first , which would have had an immediate effect on demand ? Then agricultural reforms which would boost rural incomes .

We followed him blindly in his first term. We chose him second time by accepting all his wrong and good decisions. Now that honeymoon period is over. Why can't there be an open debate or brainstorming session between the one holding power on one hand and experts on the other. After all major crises must not be addressed along party lines without adequate deliberations. There must be due diligence and decisions must be arrives at. Even now the FM can privately consult Swamy, from her own party and come to terms to correct the glitches. Her ego cannot be greater than that of the country's future.

The country suffers economically when an semi litterate man like PM Modi become all powerful. Most of his finance ministry ministers and advisors are clueless about the sagging economy and most unemployment figure in 47 years. Time to change the course and bring people like Dr. Swamy to head the economy.

From a layman view, If we talk about Macro Economics and equilibrium, then it has to be both. Only to decide which comes first. I feel presently govt is trying to motivate the corporate segment & investors first and create higher rate of job opportunities, it may happen that we the people can be bestowed with some tax rebate in IT from the govt in near future too. The way lay-off are happening, more foreign investments & industries sustainability is highly required in terms of job creation for us. Nutshell basis, availability of more Jobs= Income potential + (plus possible tax relief in IT)= increased buying capacity= balanced Growth. If people are job less or face pay cut, how much benefit we can expect out of IT rebate? It is complete abolition, how to compensate the whole short fall in Govt’s exchequer? Either way it is going to affect adversely in longer run. So,Timely & Balanced action plan is the way out I guess. Holding our nerve is the key, no choice. 😊

Upa 1 did very well in the economic side even during the financial crisis..then corruption allegations came govt lost control at the end of upa2..but still managed 4.8% gdp...then modi came..they changed the way we calculate gdp..first years it showed pretty growth then it started to come down..then again they changed the way we calculate the gdp.. they addressed the crisis very late because of 'all is well' attitude..gdp came down further to 5%..previous economic advisor to modi govt aravind
subramanian told the real gdp figure will be 1.5 to 2 % lesser than the current figure..so whose mistake is the current financial crisis..is it Gandhi families? Or current government's?..

They are talking rubbish. We all know when the Soviet Union collapsed and India has no foreign currency to import all the eseential items, India had to borrow from the IMF. IMF imposed economic conditions on India as a part of the loan conteact which IMF advised to all countries that take loans from the IMF. Narasimha Rao, Mammohan Singh, Swamy had nothing to do with these reforms which was designed by the IMF-World Bank. Even if any IAS would be the finance minister in 1991, these reforms would be carried forwards, as IMF-World Bank would insist on these. What reforms have done to us? $2600 billion of India`s money went away to foreign banks, the economy was privatised, banks were looted, we are importing coals and railway carriages, which we produce in India. We have a deficit of $63 billion with China, which is being financed only by the NRIs.

OK abolish income tax. But tax on agriculture should be implemented. Wah kya bath hey. Farmers don't have basic price for their products,they are not given loans properly, no proper structured strategies exit for the improment farming, no quality of seeds produced, no proper steps taken on environmental which farmers mainly depend on. Abolish income tax for big corporate business and become monopolies. If you don't collect how does the government run its administration.
