This is one restaurant I don't mind spending $$$$ ....The owner, Chef Jose Andres, has done more to feed people not only in this country but worldwide who suffer from disasters, first responders during Covid, anywhere there is a need! He is selfless and a national treasure! We should all support his businesses during this difficult time because he's always supporting the most vulnerable and those in need..
Meli please do not apologize for your English, it’s so much better than my Spanish. You all are inspiring me to visit Jaleo on our next trip. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into your evening.
I love the review and the Sí Disney team! An absolute homerun. Thanks Pete for adding these amazing people for us spanish speaking fans. Meli, this is my first time hearing you speak english, you did great! Love from Mexico
Jaleo's is a Spanish (as in Europe) restaurant and not Latin American based at all. It really is a completely different type of cuisine and is a class of it's own.
As someone who has had everything from first dates, happy hours, birthdays, breakups, and makeups happen at the Jaleo on 7th street in DC over the years - I am clearly biased! Jaleo has been a fixture in my life for years!!!! Edit: My current partner and I are huge Jaleo fans we have gotten used to delivery, and we are staying home tonight but having carne asada and gambas al ajillo - one of my all time favorite restaurants - glad you finally decided to review!
Your English is wonderful, Meli! Don't sell yourself short. Sean, just for clarification, Jaleo is a Spanish restaurant (as in food from Spain). It's not Mexican and it's not Latin or Latin-American.
I really enjoyed this group. It’s so nice to see Sean and Pete doing reviews again. I wish Sean would do more. Thank you so much for doing this review , we have a reservation for next week! ♥️
Same! I love seeing Sean in reviews and DIS videos overall. He's so down to earth and always giving his honest opinion as it is 😃 and he's always thinking about the Disney guest perspective.... Very customer/guest focused.

Excellent review! One of my favorite restaurants! The food is expensive, but delicious! Jose Andres does so many wonderful things for countries dealing with disaster, and that alone makes the prices a little easier to digest. ❤️
We have Mercado Little Spain by Jose Andres here in NYC! Basically, most of these dishes but each at a separate Epcot type booth all indoors as if you’re at a Spanish market! So if you’re in the NYC area and want to try some of these dishes, head to Mercado at Hudson Yards!
I don’t know if anyone will read this but I hope it helps someone. We just went to Jaleo last night and it was a 10 out of 10. My husband who is very picky and always worried about price actually stayed behind without my knowledge to talk to the manager to rave about the food and our waiter. It was that special. Just a note they have taken the mushrooms off the menu and we got the single serving of paella and it was not salty and it was definitely enough for 4 people. I was surprised how big the serving is compared to other little plates. I hope people will give this place a chance, this has been added to our must do restaurants for our vacations ❤️
Jaleo is so under rated! I feel like no one ever talks about it, we had an amazing meal there last year. We went for magical dining month and had like 5 courses(each) for $35 each, great value, especially since I KNOW tapas can add up and be expensive.
Jimmy and Meli were great additions to this review! I loved hearing from them and they seem so sweet and genuine. Such a cute couple 🥰 I’d love to see Argentina and Spain someday. So cool to hear their review on Jaleo. I love when the Dis has “special guests” in their dining reviews 👏🏻 Haley is also awesome as always ☺️👍🏻
Every staff member is incredibly personable, and so down to earth and welcoming. Don’t to mention how incredible the food AND drinks are. Only props from me 🙏🏽
Question - how much is an individual serving of paella? My parents always taught me "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it". Words to live by indeed though the presentation was great. Hopefully there was a week's worth of leftovers. Comments - Pete, I don't eat food which is looking at me no matter where it came from. Meli - if that is bad English, you should hear my Spanish! Sean - I love your honesty in these reviews (though I cannot get cigarette ash and dark chocolate connected at all) Jimmy - love your honesty as well about the meats. Haley - you are becoming quite the reviewer and I love seeing you in these! Fiasco - I'm right there with you on the sorbet - I love sorbet or sorbetto pretty much anywhere as a dessert (used to get it at Chefs de France every time).
More reviews with the Si Disney couple, they were great. Also really appreciated Fiasco's view of the food, from the price conscious "everyman" perspective. I dont always agree with him, but his view contrasts well with the others and is informative.
I read an article from eater on the paella and it's meant to be for 20 people, so actually the price isn't that bad in that case. I really want to go here one day. Thanks for the review! I hope to see Haley more often, but only if she is comfortable with it. Thanks again!
Jaleo is my favorite place at Disney Springs, absolutely love it. I believe the Paella is priced per person and ranged between $40 and $45, depending on the type you get. It's also supposed to be more of a complete entree than anything else on the menu, so if you just get that and 1 or 2 other dishes it is a reasonable option.
Meli your English is amazing! I loved y’all’s perspective. Can’t wait to try Jaleo on our next trip. Pete you find the best Disney contributors. Also, I love salty food so I will try the Paella!💜
I always appreciate Sean's input because I feel like he represents a niche of diner that belongs to many Americans. His palate has become much more adventurous than when he first started though! Valuable info for people traveling with a group!
It's hard for me to resist going to Jaleo every time I've come down (so I haven't resisted the past three trips lol). After going to Barcelona, I was SO excited that Jaleo was opening. That pan con tomate is as good as any I had in Barcelona. Two orders at least, every time. And the garlic chicken I had for the first time a couple of months ago. Outstanding. The tortilla espanola is better at Dahlia lounge, in my opinion, but otherwise, everything at Jaleo is top notch. Such an amazing place.
That was a great and thorough review! That is the kind of restaurant that needs a bit of introduction and you’ve all done a marvelous job. The paella is ridiculous. When the price is not on the menu and the price is that high they should inform you when you order, it gives a negative edge to an otherwise outstanding restaurant.
Rofl, I almost feel bad for anyone walking into this place and thinking about price when they open that menu. If you know who the chef is and are aware of his prowess, keep your wallet in your pants and shuffle down the boardwalk to Applebees.
As someone who has worked in Hialeah for 34 years, I've had some awesome Paella. No more than $15/person cooked on site in our building for Christmas parties. That's 1/4 the cost. I don't care how nice the restaurant is, that's ridiculous.
Jaleo is an upscale priced restaurant. Many of the ingredients used are imported as well as high quality. The quality of the product, the knowledge of the staff on food, culture is tremendous. You can pay $30 for a steak $65 or over $100 (like at STK). Yes the restaurant is expensive and Jose Andres doesn’t apologize for that.
With that said the price of the paella is crazy. I am curious did the table get all of the food in the pan? Seems like a lot of food and the menus says table side is for 8 to 10 people.
@@gregwoolley8932 Agreed. It's a high end restaurant so it's expected to be expensive, but that price is just ridiculous. When Pete is calling it out as too expensive, you know it is.
We ate at Jaleo's this month, and for me it was the experience of a lifetime. I had the Jaleo Experience, and my s/o had various dishes. Each dish was utterly fabulous, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Including the bottle of Lustau Pedro Ximenez sherry we bought and the tip, (also including a paella), our total meal with wine/beverages was around $300. Again, a special occasion (my 72 birthday) but well worth every penny in food and and service. Though being a bit of an introvert, next time I'd ask for a less middle of the room table. (It wasn't that big an issue)
We've been going to the Jaleo locations in downtown DC, Bathesda and Jose's market at Hudson Yards in NYC for years so I'm very familiar with the food. We always make a meal out of the tapas and don't spend an arm and a leg. Also, I've always had the shrimp in garlic with no heads so I don't know what's up with that. We'll be going to the Disney Springs location this August and we can't wait! Love Jaleo!
Wow! Just discovered your channel since we are going to Jaleo's in a couple weeks! Great show and thank you guys for doing what you do! These types of reviews really make the Disney trip SOOO much better! I'm glad to see what the shrimp looked like since I too may not be able to handle the whole shrimp! But now we can't wait to try everything else! Cheers!
I did the math and if all six of you ordered the paella? It was $47 each for (what looked like) kind of a small serving. Of course, I don't know if it was unlimited or not. I guess there really is a reason they don't have the price on the menu. That policy will end up biting them in the behind, imho, as people would not be likely to order it a second time after getting the first bill.
We had the chef's special lobster paella earlier this year for a similar price. As badly as I wanted to love Jaleo because Chef is amazing, we just couldn't get behind this food. The place is cool, and the service was good. The food didn't match the price, even for Disney food, when we went.
Jaleo is by far one of my favorites! I can't wait to return in July! Great review! They used to offer the Paella (by the plate) on the Happy Hour menu and it was a great value. Never did the table side paella (but I'm usually riding solo and that would be A LOT of paella).
You didn’t get anchovies on the pan de cristal y tomate? Steven Elizabeth Porter loved it with anchovies, and I did too. It looks like they don’t have the Gambas a la Zaharas at that location. It is soooooo good!
Agree with the team, the flan at Jaleo is amazing! 🍮 😋 And the paella, too salty, not our favorite 🥘 Overall Jaleo is a great restaurant at Disney Springs, the food and the service, top notch 👍🏻 SiDisney, great addition to the team!
Beautiful restaurant. Paella in upscale Spanish restaurants is usually in the 50.00 range so I think 280.00 for the table was a fair price. Miss having Deni describe in detail the flavors. Thank you for the review.
The paella was a main course... it’s sticker shock for sure. But Pete... you ordered an $110 steak that had no seasoning for one person’s entree. $280/6 people is within Disney’s price point. With that... I’d probably enjoy the tapas you got and go with a couple of those for my entree.
That’s an excellent price for delicious dinners (with Pete’s ToW discount) minus the Paella, for 6 people. Cute married couples & yes, Pete & Sean are cute, too! 😍 Meli, your English is fantastic!
I’d be curious if you inquired about the price of the paella if they would tell you so you can make an informed decision as not everyone has Pete’s budget. This restaurant sounds amazing and a really good value for 6 adults as long as you don’t get a batch of $288 paella. Then it’s a 10/10 restaurant. Also, please lose the hat Sean, you’re inside in a nice restaurant.
Great review minus the pricey rice & sausage..geez it’s not like it had lobster or anything! But I had to look at the date on this because I’m confused how you can come off a plane and go out to eat and not have to quarantine for international travelers ? Oh well everything looked good the atmosphere looked great. Thanks for informing everyone about the paella !
Great Review! Food looked delicious! Love Paella, it’s usually a little pricey, like $30-35, especially if it has some seafood. But if I am doing the math correctly, $280 divided by 6 = $46.67 per person....wow! I would rather have all the small plates. Love hearing everyone’s thoughts on the food. Can’t wait to give Jaleo’s a try this summer.😎👍🏻
My wife and I ate there on FRI, May 7. To us, the standouts were the paella for 2 (no surprise) as well as: Paletilla ibérica de bellota (cured ham shoulder from the acorn-fed, black-footed ibérico pigs) and Bikini de jamón con queso Manchego (Pressed sandwich of Serrano ham and Manchego cheese). Good, but not all that outstanding were Croquetas de pollo (kind of spongy), Patatas bravas (not crispy enough), and Cebolla asada (Roasted sweet onions, pine nuts, and Valdeón blue cheese) which we were surprised was served cold. The Crianza wine was excellent. While some of our dishes were great, I thought others fell short of great.
Wow, I thought the bill sounded pretty reasonable for everything you had until you said the price of the paella 😲 The food looks amazing though, great review.
If you take away the paella and account for 6 people the bill isn't that outrageous. Would it have been enough food for everyone without the paella though?
We normally spend about 150 to 250 for 4 people for a Disney dinner. So your price that night was great for 6 people! Little disappointed on wearing hats and dress attire to a nice place.
My husband and I went here in March for our little child free date night and we loved the service and our experience so so much. My only frustration with it is my mom and niece would have loved to have gone to and I would’ve booked it for our whole family if based on the kids menu alone I hadn’t felt like young children weren’t welcome and after going I know they aren’t. I just don’t think any restaurant in Disney should be unwelcoming to children outside of like super high high end Victoria and Alberts. I mean even Morimoto’s Asia felt more welcoming to my young children they had a wonderful time! However over all as a date night with my husband it was an amazing experience. We had the stake, the mushrooms, and the potatoes. For dessert we had the chocolate one sent over by the manager because she couldn’t recommend it enough and the flan. We loved our experience sitting out on the Deck over looking the water in the early spring air… basically I know exactly how great that meal was! My only regret is not getting to try out the fancy ham!
I ate there last week, and there were very young children (probably under 5) seated a couple tables down from us. I'm not sure how young you're talking about, but we're taking my 7 year old niece there on our next trip.
@@Jessica-yy5wm well I am sure they didn’t send them away or anything but they certainly didn’t have anything my kids would’ve eaten and overall I don’t feel like I would’ve been comfortable there with my young kids my oldest is only five. This is a link to the kids menu and I acknowledge my kids are picky most places at Disney have something that would work like chicken fingers or Mac and cheese and nothing looked like it would for my kids… allears.net/dining/menu/jaleo/child-lunch-dinner/
@@87glassrose that's understandable. My niece isn't too picky, so we're going to have her eat the tapas with us. But when she was younger, she definitely had more of an influence on where we ate.
I wonder if the servers should somehow make the guest aware of how much the paella is, or should they just let it be a surprise? I mean, we all know that menu items with no price listed are going to be expensive, but that doubled your total. I've ordered seafood at market price before, and my heart would sink if I were surprised with an exorbitant amount.

Oh well everything looked good the atmosphere looked great. Thanks for informing everyone about the paella !
We haven't eaten here yet either and I'm not sure why. Definitely going to try it now. The paella didn't look very appetizing IMO.
To us, the standouts were the paella for 2 (no surprise) as well as:
Paletilla ibérica de bellota (cured ham shoulder from the acorn-fed, black-footed ibérico pigs) and Bikini de jamón con queso Manchego (Pressed sandwich of Serrano ham and Manchego cheese). While some of our dishes were great, I thought others fell short of great.
always love seeing haley and fiasco! they seem like such kind people
Funny to hear her apologize for her English when it was great...I can't speak another language to save my life. Awesome review guys 👏🏾
Sean you know how to eat your shrimp for sure, ha ha ha. One of my favorite from Jaleo.
They flew in from Argentina and didn't get put up at a DVC room? *gives Pete a look*
Your English is great! I don’t know what you’re talking about. ☺️
Pete needs to be in every review
Wow, I thought the bill sounded pretty reasonable for everything you had until you said the price of the paella 😲 The food looks amazing though, great review.
Jaleo is legit. My wife and I go to the Vegas location (Cosmo) all the time
It's funny to watch these reviews in reverse order. Jaleo vs Maria & Enzo's for almost the same price and complete opposite reviews.
This is a link to the kids menu and I acknowledge my kids are picky most places at Disney have something that would work like chicken fingers or Mac and cheese and nothing looked like it would for my kids…

$280 for paella is insanity!!! I wonder if there is a sample sized paella that is cheaper
Great price for the paella 😂😂😂 I can get wagu for that price
No way is that Paella worth that much! Wow. And I love Paella but no way.
Good review , but come-on with the hats on at the table.
Sean is so adorable... 🔥 I will remember not to have the spicy Butt cheese lol 😆
