I was 31 years with Virginia State Police, never heard this song that I can remember. Love those old cars but I would never want to go back to patrol with a S&W 38 six shooter. Not every thing was better back in the day 😉
This one catched me at the Summer Jamboree in Senigallia/Italy. It became one of my favorites immedietly. Thanks a lot for writing, singing and performing that hot stuff, Junior.
cool......we had Broderick Crawford do a role in one of our CHIPS episodes....so cool from back in the day. And here we are now....CHIPS was back in the day.
Yes indeed! I was born in '64, so CHiPs was part of my generation. Loved to see the stars of yesteryear turn up in the shows I watched. Another one had Larry "Buster" Crabbe guest-star in an episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
Remember when police cars had white wall tires and spotlights and chrome trim and curb feelers and the two tone black and white on the 4doors and the big highway patrol badge on the center of the door and the cb radio and roll cage brand names like mercury and Ford and Plymouth dodge Pontiac Cadillac Chevy Buick Edsel DeSoto Packard amc matador Studebaker Hudson etc and when police cars always hiding behind billboards even more so in the country back roads
Love the song. Doesn't Route 66 run along the coast of CA? I'm probably wrong...:-( Those Hway Patrol guys look like a bunch of Good Ole Boys...:-) Millions of Roadie STARS Buziaki g
+genia106 To answer the question, no Route 66 does not run along the California coast. In California it starts around Los Angeles and travels through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and ends in Chicago, IL
Even -numbered routes generally run East to West (and vice versa) since 1926. I'm just saying. :^[} en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Numbered_Highway_System
When I was growing up, they used to play this song on the country station every Friday morning.
Yeah good old times
