This movie proves just how at the mercy of the director an actor is. In the right hands, Lee Van Cleef gave one of the best Western performances of all time. This movie, and Cleef's performance in it are underrated.

Speaking as a bar manager I sympathise with the bloke behind the bar. Calloway was probably paying him a good amount to stay there incognito, then the woman in the bath's going to be downstairs asking where her money's coming from, never mind the disposal of a dead horse, and finally dealing with the shit piano player [oh, and did the head-down on the table man puke on the floor? More work!] All this on a Monday shift !

Lee's face is definitely one of the most amazing faces that graced the screen. His facial features are so refined but his look is so rugged and altogether formed such extraordinary attractiveness. So difficult to paint his face let alone capture his glamour. If you like the way this movie shot and edited you would definitely enjoy Asian-made classics. You would discover a whole different world of storytelling that is enjoyable and enriching.

Yeah, I getcha. Although it seemed to me like he wasn't too hot on killing him just for the sake of it. Lee's character in this is a surgical killer but you can see he's got a heart. If he was out to kill the guy, he woulda had his gun drawn before he charged the door. Sure, he kills the horse out from under him and wings em in the shoulder, but he only draws that "business-handling" gun he has on the dude after he's shot at. Seemed like Lee was givin' em chances to come along peaceful-like and when english-teeth there used the last one up, pop pop.
