    Good video. Wish you'd covered the electrical hook up.
    I have installed this set up in my Horizon 39WD. I also installed a protective nylon sleeve over the discharge hose and added camlock fittings to the discharge hose and to the sewer connector. My thought was that it would allow me to screw the discharge head to the sewer drain without kinking the discharge hose. I also added a 6" length of flexible hose to the discharge head so as to reduce strain on the discharge head.
    Just my 2 cents.

      Thanks for the input Thomas. You are right, I should have covered the electrical hookup. I should put my hose in a protective sleeve as well. Never got to it, but I should before it is too late.

    Would this work for a permanent site leaving it outside attached to spectic

      I would say yes. The macerator itself needs to be inside out of the elements and run the hose where you want uphill or down. You can even attach a garden hose on the end go further.

    How does it work for when i just want to leave the grey tank open all the time?

    • @RVLIVINGLIFE
      @RVLIVINGLIFE  10 месяцев назад

      Still the same as normal. We usually leave the grey open until the black is getting full. Then we close the grey until we have enough to dump both tanks.

      It is a macerator pump, I guess that is expected.

    An A/B valve rather than the two valves you have would be more sanitary /less chance of contamination of your fresh water as the space between the valves will have black water introduced. That is WILL have introduced, not maybe. Actually the best, and really only SAFE, method would be to completely eliminate any chance of cross-contamination by eliminating any common connection possibilities. Isn't it better to eliminate all chances of illness rather than, "Eh, it's not a big deal"? Spending a week or two on the pot with diarrhea or maybe even in the hospital, having risked your death, or that of a friend/family member, having been from contracting hepatitis, etc. due to your being too lazy/cheap/dumb is not worth the risk. Spend the extra few dollars and do it right or allow someone that has been trained to understand the risks and proper way to install plumbing.

      We installed a one way valve on the black tank flush line and nothing can flow back. There is actually one behind the board and added a secondary one on the front to be sure. I would think someone with your knowledge would know that. Also I have always wondered how a line going to a spray valve in the top of the black tank could get any back flow unless the black tank was over full. Who does that? The oneway valve stops that from happening anyway if it was possible. We have used this setup for years now with no issues. So far no one has died using this method.

    You have got to get a windsock! That would make your videos much easier to listen to.

    I see, instead of having a 3" hose that's totally filthy from carrying all that black water and grey water, you added a 1 1/2" hose to do the exact same thing but it has a blender on it so everything stays sanitary....Okay, makes perfect sense to me now.

      What actually happens now is I never have to string a 3 inch hose out of the bottom of the wetbay and place is on a hose ladder down to the sewer. That requires effort to setup and stay sanitary. Now I just pull the 1 1/2 inch line out and connect it to the sewer with out any setup. Just pull it out, dump the tanks and put it back. No need to setup and diss assemble hoses. No risk of spill and no need to rinse any lines. Its simple and quick.
