- I have to tell the truth and admit i'm not a huge fan of Kaname, in fact i hate him more than Rido ¬_¬ ... but that picture does make him look sexy right? ;) this song i think does show the dark side to Kaname and gives a feeling to how powerful he is in the vampire world
(P.S. Don't hate me for saying i hate Kaname! that is my own opinion and i don't hate anyone who thinks the total opposite, in fact i love those people who can give their own opinion on things :3)

I thought he was a pretentious asshole until I read the manga. This is just my opinion, but I thought the anime, while beautiful, wasn't allowed nearly enough time for a casual viewer to really grasp how deeply complex and multi-faceted Kaname is. Now, having finished the manga, I think he's one of the most noble and incredible characters I've ever read. His unconditional love for Yuuki is beyond beautiful. Just my two cents. :)

On my first watch of Vampire Knight I instantly got Kaname’s concept and his love for Yuki is unparalleled in the anime and manga.

Kaname Kuran's character in the anime wasn't given justice. It seemed a lot like he reaped what Zero sow (Well, maybe entirely true?). Maybe it was because his actions were only justified on the latter part of the story (Which is, AFTER vampire knight guilty, that is unfortunately not made into an anime). If only it was shown how much he did, endured, and sacrificed for Yuki. It had been months but I still can't get over the manga. He has so much love :'( And hey, he actually approved of Zero in the end.
See here's my thing, the true Vampire Knight guilty never actually was apart of the anime. For the anime I see the second season still apart of the general vampire knight, Guilty didn't start until after the battle with Rido and until it switched over to Kaname and Yuki. The anime frustrates me quite a bit to be honest, especially considering the fact that for the anime we learned so much about Yuki and Zero but we knew barely anything about Kaname and only ever actually learned about him in the true guilty, which is probably what would've been a season three.

:) I'm one of those people that think the total opposite, I ADORE kaname and think he is perfect for Yuki. I don't completely bash zero though... he's just so depressing 75% of the time! it was also said that zero and yuki could never be together because they were "fated to always be on opposite sides of the same coin"

I absolutely adore Kaname! Love love love love him a thousand times! I don't care how old he is (only makes sense after you read it), or that he is kinda misleading and two-faced! But hand him over Yuki, or things gonna get ugly as hell. Totally support Kaname x Yuki! Luv! Fangirl soo hard baby! (Don't kill me Zero fans, but I just don't like him. He just came to me the wrong way, and I started hating him.) If people understood Kaname and his background, and all the other secrets he has, you would understand what her f***** went through all these damn years! Yuki is the one thing he lives for, take her away and he would rather just rip out his heart and die.

I have mixed feelings about Kaname. Half of me ships him and Yuki, the rest of me detests him because he was such a jerk to Zero. I can't do much about it, though, so I might as well shut up, lol! This is a great track tho, very Kaname-ish ;)

Hey, I'm just being honest. I like Kaname and he has my back, but he could be a little nicer. I mean, I get it that he and Zero are competitors, that's fine. But Kaname always eggs Zero on and is so impolite to him. At least Zero trys to avoid conflict with him.

I’m years late to this debate, but I think the anime was pretty awful and didn’t give anyone enough characterisation, so therefore they didn’t do Kaname’s character justice. I may be 23 now and not 14, but I’m still team Kaname, lol 😆 Not bashing Zero/Yuki shippers, I just don’t personally like Zero very much as a character, but that’s just me!

Kamane is good but he falls short when compared to Zero. Zero is the one for Yuki. Kaname can remain her brother.

tbh I found it kind of strange that they decided to make them fall in love despite being siblings. I do think it would make more sense to have zero and yuki come together because of all she's done for him. it was really weird when yuki became a vampire, since it felt like her care for zero was suddenly just gone
she also left her best friend behind, and just find it super weird, as if she no longer cared about these people at all

Yeah but have you even read the manga? Do you even know how traumatic and heartbreaking of a lifetime Kaname had? Do you even know all of the true reasons behind his love for Yuki?
