unpopular opinion: i don’t support violence, but aido did some pretty stupid and disrespectful things, so these slaps weren’t completely unwarranted.
I do like his character, but all good characters have flaws.

Yes but he only did it because her memories were returning so he had to bring his little sister back to her original place in the Vampire world. So she wouldn't have nightmares anymore. And the fact that Rido was returning soon anyway and he was going after Yuki to be with her because she reminded him of her mother Juri.
