- The Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is one of my all-time favorite dark rides. There are many versions of this ride at different Disney Parks and they are all great in their unique ways. This version is a bit longer than the Disneyland version with some extra scenes. It is missing the Hatbox Ghost, perhaps we will see it during the 50th celebration.
Due to the pandemic, the stretching room and the changing portrait are not working at the moment. The lines are pretty long looking but move quite quickly. Most actual wait times are shorter than the posted times.

I love how it took a freaking pandemic for the guests to finally be able to see the first stage of the aging man portrait at the beginning!
I know - I've done a bit of research on that due to making a complaint of sorts last time, and the issue comes down to the portrait being given that slight head start over the foyer spiel. If they changed it back, it wouldn't be so bad, as the foyer spiel begins approx. 30 seconds after the stretching room closes (and has done since the late 80s - it's a myth when people say it used to be much longer in that period onward) and most of the time CMs can get to the door in time. But at present, it changes 15 secs or so after the previous group's door has closed in the gallery, so that makes for a very inconsistent presentation from group to group. I was most unhappy last time as I saw no reason for us to have missed the foyer sequence and was allowed to see it over again thanks to the Cast Member I complained to...

Nice video, have ridden both USA versions! Makes me sad doing such things are not so easy anymore, but hopefully many overseas guests will be able to return one day....

I always wondered about that. Perhaps it's to represent spirits. Funny thing is I never noticed it when I ride the ride in person. It seems to show up in the videos more.
