    Found you because of Mike and Subscribed. Great video, I'm sure I will learn a lot from you.

    I'm always amazed at how aggressively you start out taking out major amounts of stone. But, that's what all your years of experience give to you is the knowledge of where you're going and how to get there.

    Superb! Thanks for the great insights into what it takes to create awesome carvings. Yes! Don’t believer these alien fables!

      Men are able to accomplish many things thought not possible. Plus the fact that blue collar work has been run out of our borders and people know keyboards mostly. Once the new immigrants have slaved there lives away in the blue collar trades , they will be the ancient aliens.

    I know this is gonna sound crazy but I think before the biblical flood there may have been beings here that moved those huge stones and then fit them as close to perfect as can be. It is so weird I was just talking about this same thing with my wife tonight and then I saw your video. I know it's far fetched in most people's minds but the Bible talks of people as tall as cedar trees where we would look like grasshoppers to them. Leverage can go a long way but only so far at our size. But if you were 20 feet tall it would go exponentially further. Anyway it's food for thought. I love you're work Wayne. Any friend of Mike has to be a solid person. Thanks. Coming from a carpenter on the other side of PA.

      @@wayneferree5053 you don't believe in aliens, but believe in god... hmmm... ok

    • @wayneferree5053
      @wayneferree5053  3 года назад

      @@cachipum Of course believing in entities that can not be seen requires faith, what one bases his or her faith on often eludes the written word. Believing that a block of stone can be more is also a leap of faith. The world is full of wonders, hmmm indeed.

    Great video Wayne!! I don’t believe in any kind of alien one single solitary bit. I do how ever think we are missing some of the story when it comes to Greco Romano stone, and brick architecture all around the world. Not so much that it wasn’t humans. But which humans? When? One of the mind boggling things is how so many 100’s and hundreds of cities all around the world on one hand are hardly established mostly brand new immigrants standing in muddy streets no bathrooms, just feeding yourself had to be tough, but there’s the time, the money, the need for some of these mind blowing grand buildings. I believe it’s from human hands. But is it from a time that we’ve been lead away from? Hidden history not hidden ufo nonsense.

    How did hey carve the tops of the Corinthian column tops back in the day as on the US Capital building.
    They seem so fragile with all the back cutting and airy relief......
    Seems like all the detail would be breaking off just in the handling and to make so many exactly alike??

      @wayneferree5053  3 года назад

      Yes, very tricky, the key is to carve the features and leave the undercutting as the final step.

    My question is how many years between hunting and gathering, and acquiring the skills necessary to create those magnificent carvings did it take. Thanks for the video.

    • @wayneferree5053

      It takes a long time to get really fast, and in this video, I basically rushed through it, this carving really needs another 3 to 4 hours of work, but it is a demonstration video. I have been at it seriously for about 45 years, however after the first few projects most novices ,as did I, will see steady improvement, and have some satisfaction, practice practice practice.

    Can you do this with copper tools?

    • @wayneferree5053
      @wayneferree5053  11 месяцев назад

      Well yes, but you would probably need to make your, but they will never out perform steel or carbide.
