BMW engines are notorious for having bad valve stem seals as well. It's usually an engine out job on those cars because a lot of times you also have to do the timing chains and all that fun stuff inside the engine.

Tightening those head bolts always looks a little scary. Definitely a good excuse for a nice fancy torque wrench.

Robert I was told I could possibly have a turbo leaking oil in my 2005 Volvo s60. The mechanic didn’t take the turbo off and take a deep look they just saw a very little bit of oil on the outside of the turbo. Could this be a loose seal or gasket

it's normal because of the PCV design and intake tube type.

Nice job, did you reuse the head bolts?

      Single use torque-to-yield.

Robert, I've got a weird issue with my 1998 V70.
At times the signal lights, headlights and brake lights will not work. Then when I stop and continue later, it will all be normal until the next time. Battery is new. Alternator keeps putting out 13.6 volts and the engine always runs fine. Could it be the ignition switch, or perhaps a loose ground connection?
Where are the ground connections on this car?
    Thanks!!!

Symptoms??? I have a xc90 3.2 2011 I get blue smoke when I let off the accelerator and coast ? 147k on the clock . Could a vacuum leak cause that as well ?

      probably a bad PCV system.
