Honestly skilled let's players are over-rated... or at least in over-abundance. It's nice to see people fail sometimes, it shows you a whole 'nother perspective of a game. Less skilled people also tend to do weird shit and you learn things about the game you otherwise wouldn't. Like a lot of Sonic levels have paths most people try to avoid for instance.
Like I get it, you don’t know what you’re doing, it takes up a lot of time and people get so butthurt impatient but no one is going to expect anything else from you except your hardest! Took me a long time to get the chaos emeralds but after a short period of time I did it and I was able to advance to the last story.

I realize that I am coming into this WAY late, but I just have to say something. Part of me is shocked that there was such venom being spewed forth in the comments on the Rose 1 video; however, the other part of me is not shocked in the slightest because it is the internet and that blasted power of anonymity bring out the absolute worst in people because they feel like there are no real world consequences. I am right there with ya man. It is just a video game and it is just youtube. There is no call for that kind of BS. I'm a girl gamer and a HUGE fan of Sonic Heroes, and I had zero problem watching them play. In fact, I thought that, sure it could have been done better, but as newbies they did a pretty good job playing it for the first time. Good on you for sticking up for your friends.

I remember Chuggaaconroy having a similiar problem with commenters who started hating on the person who drew Kumatora for his Mother 3 intro. Some people man.
I loved Chaotix because it was a refreshing Sonic game with a new mechanic that worked. The characters were very cool and the levels were different from each other. The 5 levels in each stage didn't tire out the player because it was randomly selected with means you didn't play all 5 acts at once.
I don't know, i find kelly so adorable playing jaja and ashley was nice... I just had a great time with the video, but I digress... some people are so damm fustrated Just it's a fun time :)
Sonic Heroes' introduction was the first 3D game experience I EVER had and I didn't do much better either. I knew a lot about 3D Sonic games, though, so I was slightly better, but still... even today, 3 years later, I always turn into the flying character in Rail Canyon and stuff... You have my respect as a person and as a gamer. Anyone should wish to have a friend like you.
Shadow the Hedgehog was my favorite Sonic game...but then again that was the game that introduced me to the speed running community so it has a place in my heart.

Clement your friends weren't bad for their first time playing I played this game horribly at first because I couldn't adjust to the ps2 until suddenly i just got used to the weird control. the best thing about Team Chaotix is in Team Blast cool down, the rings you rack up from destroying enemies fills your Team Blast meter, a lot faster aloowing you pretty much infinite Team Blasts!

i think the idea behind the switches being there for chaotix and not for anyone else is that team chaotix was there first so they already hit all the switches...actually i'm pretty sure chaotix is first everywhere

I actually liked seeing non-gamers play Sonic Heroes (and that Mega Man 10 easy mode video). It shows us what these games are actually like to normal people, rather than experts who play these games all the time.
Honestly, I found the Team Rose play through kinda funny. I admit, I am one of the idiots who couldn't read the description bar (which says something...though I'm not exactly sure what) but after the first episode, I found their commentary enjoyable. I can understand people having a problem watching others play a game for the first time. I played Mario and Sonic a lot as a kid so I didn't have much trouble in Sonic Heroes. It can be really painful to see others fail at a game you've played. I didn't have that much of a problem with it, but it was tough to watch the training level. I was entertained enough by the commentary.
I agree with you Clement, people make judgements about someone without understanding half of the reasons why they are how they are, or why they might not know what they're doing in a game. The attacks against Ashley and Kelly were totally uncalled for and were made by trolls. Those wonderful people who don't care about having all the facts and just attack people for any reason they can find, be it lack of knowledge or skill, or just being different.

@Hakayami maybe its because of the fact that Shadow had weapons; a concept that was unheard of in a sonic game. Also, It had kind of a steep learning curve, with having to experiment with which routes to take to achieve your path. Also, There was a bit of some mild language. Even Sonic said "Dammit!!" in the game. It simply wasn't everything people thought it would be, and what people thought it should be.
to be honest i actually would've liked to see them play through the whole rose story and seen them learn the game and by the end they would've been good. i enjoyed watching rose part 1 because it reminded me of when i first played heroes
i think the first part of team rose was alot of fun to watch, after all thats wht i subscribe to commentary channels, i already finished sonic heroes years ago
Dude Clement, I understand man. Some people just can't be bought...nor do they pay attention to anything. They see that it's a "Great Clement" video and ignore anything else. I saw it and I was just like Ashley and Kelly are playing, let's see what they can do.
well, technically you could call cheese the chao a boy, so therefore eggman was sort of correct to call them 'boys' as he could just be indicating big and cheese, but hey, what are ya gunna do? Great playthrough so far clement, look forward to the rest. I personally always loved the chaotix story, their missions added extra unique replay value and fun to the game and made just plain old missions interesting. I also love their comical interaction with each other :)
I am so sorry you had to deal with such jerks. I love it when some one gives a new game a shot and try it out. I hope this doesn't ruin the game for them cause I enjoyed their commentary. It's one thing for you a fan to show us why what you like about a game or series. but they showed us how some may not get it or see it differently. They played for the first time the intro lvl and they had fun. It's not like you droped them on the last lvl and forced us to watch them die for 5 hours. Thank you.
To be honest, I never really saw any problem with watching the first part of Sonic Heroes (Rose 1), and I actually enjoyed Ashley and Kelly playing Sonic Heroes for the first time. It was kind of annoying how they were complaining about the Amy's and Cream's voices a lot, but I would too, so I never had a problem with the video.

I played Sonic Adventure 2 with a friend of mine not too long ago and she took like 15 minutes on the first tresure hunting level and I just laughed and gave her little hints. Not everyones going to be a perfect gamer and these people should have read your description. I enjoyed your friends playing :), they were no worse than mine can be. I really respect how you defended your friends, and all those who called them names are, simply, a bunch of douchy trolls.
I agree whole-heartedly with Clement. People shouldn't talk bad about them, they aren't major gamers like a lot of us so there's no reason to complain. You CAN laugh at them for screwing up and stuff, but don't bad-mouth them... Remember back to the first time you played this when all of these abilities were brand new to you, and the only character you knew how to use was the Speed characters because they acted like Sonic. I mean honestly.

i think the idea behind the switches being there for chaotix and not for anyone else is that team chaotix was there first so they already hit all the switches...actually i'm pretty sure chaotix is first everywhere
Clement, anyone can pick up a controller and play a game, but to truly understand and master the techniques, the levels of difficulty, and their enimies, can take years of practice. ☺

actually i enjoyed it when ur friends played, i find it funny when people who have no clue what theyre doing play a new game, it brings a sense of humor to it! bring more ppl that are new to the game, its usually more fun when a person is clueless, it makes me feel like i know what i was doing
I agree. I had absolutely no problem with part 1. Especially since it was made clear in both the description and the video itself it was only the first level. People on youtube just lack the ability to read I guess. Anyways, I support you standing up for your friends Clement and guest commentators are ALWAYS welcome! xD

I actually liked seeing non-gamers play Sonic Heroes (and that Mega Man 10 easy mode video). It shows us what these games are actually like to normal people, rather than experts who play these games all the time.
Honestly, I found the Team Rose play through kinda funny. I admit, I am one of the idiots who couldn't read the description bar (which says something...though I'm not exactly sure what) but after the first episode, I found their commentary enjoyable. But hey...I'm just one guy right?
Also: Sadness for no Team Dark Play though. I was hoping you'd do something similar with Team Rose and have another batch of friends for the ride.

I can understand people having a problem watching others play a game for the first time. I played Mario and Sonic a lot as a kid so I didn't have much trouble in Sonic Heroes. It can be really painful to see others fail at a game you've played.
I didn't have that much of a problem with it, but it was tough to watch the training level. I was entertained enough by the commentary.

I agree with you Clement, people make judgements about someone without understanding half of the reasons why they are how they are, or why they might not know what they're doing in a game. The attacks against Ashley and Kelly were totally uncalled for and were made by trolls.
Those wonderful people who don't care about having all the facts and just attack people for any reason they can find, be it lack of knowledge or skill, or just being different.

Clement is right. Everyone must've had at least a little bit of trouble with sonic heroes the first they played it, especially if it's there first 3d sonic game.
I can't say that I cared for the first part when Clement's friends were playing as Team Rose, but man people can be such doush bags and be so rude. It's good to see Clement stick up for his friends.
You know Clement, a big reason why I personally watch your videos is the attitude you take toward comments. I like that you don't necessarily cater to people whining in your comments, or saying that your opinion is wrong (presumably because theirs is right).

the first time I played the game I spent 3 minutes on the first fan as sonic trying to figure uot how to fly up as sonic (I was a kid back then mind you) Good times... xD

Clement, this was one of my first video games besides sonic adventure 2, and Smash Bros. Melee. I love it to death. I'd like to see you, a hilarious commentator do the fourth playthrough. I'm stuck on team dark's final fortress and it's bugged me till no end.
The team rose play through was pretty funny especially when your two female friends were playing in the beginning of it.

as do i, when my girlfriend tried street fighter ex3 she didn't know how different the game had gotten since 1997,but did i snap on her no,i held her in my arms and showed her how to play in a calm,loving,respectful mannor (sorry about being all emotional)

@Hakayami maybe its because of the fact that Shadow had weapons; a concept that was unheard of in a sonic game. Also, It had kind of a steep learning curve, with having to experiment with which routes to take to achieve your path. Also, There was a bit of some mild language. Even Sonic said "Dammit!!" in the game. It simply wasn't everything people thought it would be, and what people thought it should be.

to be honest i actually would've liked to see them play through the whole rose story and seen them learn the game and by the end they would've been good. i enjoyed watching rose part 1 because it reminded me of when i first played heroes
when ever i hear vector do his third attack after shooting espio and charmy i swear it sounds like he's throwing up :P
i think the first part of team rose was alot of fun to watch, after all thats wht i subscribe to commentary channels, i already finished sonic heroes years ago
Dude Clement, I understand man. Some people just can't be bought...nor do they pay attention to anything. They see that it's a "Great Clement" video and ignore anything else. I saw it and I was just like Ashley and Kelly are playing, let's see what they can do.
well, technically you could call cheese the chao a boy, so therefore eggman was sort of correct to call them 'boys' as he could just be indicating big and cheese, but hey, what are ya gunna do? Great playthrough so far clement, look forward to the rest. I personally always loved the chaotix story, their missions added extra unique replay value and fun to the game and made just plain old missions interesting. I also love their comical interaction with each other :)
I am so sorry you had to deal with such jerks. I love it when some one gives a new game a shot and try it out. I hope this doesn't ruin the game for them cause I enjoyed their commentary. It's one thing for you a fan to show us why what you like about a game or series. but they showed us how some may not get it or see it differently. They played for the first time the intro lvl and they had fun. It's not like you droped them on the last lvl and forced us to watch them die for 5 hours. Thank you.
To be honest, I never really saw any problem with watching the first part of Sonic Heroes (Rose 1), and I actually enjoyed Ashley and Kelly playing Sonic Heroes for the first time. It was kind of annoying how they were complaining about the Amy's and Cream's voices a lot, but I would too, so I never had a problem with the video.
Ah don't let those kids ruin your fun. I played Sonic Adventure 2 with a friend of mine not too long ago and she took like 15 minutes on the first tresure hunting level and I just laughed and gave her little hints. Not everyones going to be a perfect gamer and these people should have read your description. I enjoyed your friends playing :), they were no worse than mine can be. Those people deserved to be blocked if they said stuff like that about people playing a video game.
Guys, this isn’t like DarkSydePhil where he insults the game for being too hard when he fails at the easiest things. Ashley and Kelly tried their best and were patient with the game and that should be appreciated
