@@GPhish I don't live there. I live in Clearwater, 57 feet above sea level. I grew up here. Shore Acres floods if you spit! I don't understand why people live there and buy homes there.

It's shocking to see the Weather Channel cover a storm somewhat honestly.
Up to 30" of rain possible by Friday. Let's see. Isn't this Sunday? So 5 inches per day. Possible.
I mean three days ago I had 3 inches of rain in 2 hours and the day after that I had 2.5 inches of rain in 1 hour with horrible winds, today I've gotten 3/4 of an inch of rain with no wind lol this is my Tampa update

Hardly any rain in pinellas, largo area. Maybe a half inch we had 2.7 in a thunderstorm the other day. Winds light to non existent.

There's not much to worry about. Typical flood areas will have to be careful because of rainfall but for the most part, just prop your feet up and enjoy your favorite binge-worthy series. Just another small storm for Florida.

@@meifyouevencare1 you should be fine. It's going to have a day over land where it will weaken, tremendously and it should be a lot of rain. Again just stay indoors and enjoy your favorite TV show. I've been through these things for my whole life which is 47 years and when they're bad I'm honestly going to tell you it's bad. And when it's something like this, 99% of the time there is very little to worry about.
@@johnathanswanson6590 lots of flooding in st pete.. I've lived here 55 years this one is tricky with the flash floods we are having. No two stroms are the same.
@@hoppas77 I get that. But also the flash flooding is something that happens along the coast along waterways where there are rivers that can crest. I am inland and we never have to worry about that. The only flooding is in areas that are low lying. Even with all the rain we never really flood here in Polk county. It's usually the places that know that they built in low areas and it is expected.

I have a question for the weather Chanel. Why are your temperatures always off ?? It's hotter than what you folks say. I just had to ask, and by the way, I live on the eastern side of the Sierras. I'm hopefully going to find a phone number for you folks. Please fix your temperature readings !!! ☹️
They are making predictions. Having a thermometer on your house window or outside your home will obviously be a more accurate measurement than people at radar stations hundreds or thousands of miles away from the areas they are predicting for. They do this to inform people of what is coming. There is not a possible way, with our current technology, to accurately or precisely predict temperatures at a date in time. Sure, we can make educated guesses by collecting data and by using our heads. If you’re so concerned about the temps, go outside with a thermometer and realize that the temperatures and estimations from TWC are just that: estimations, educated guesses, predictions. In real world temps and conditions will be different. During the past week I have learned that quickly! Their app predicts a thunderstorm in my area couple of days ago, and not a single drop of rain came and I stayed in the same city the whole day, but they predicted a storm coming thru. Sometimes the winds of change will change the storms, the rain, the temps! Weather is unpredictable!!!!

I love Weather Channel, they get the weather correct even though half a planet away. I use their app and also website.

Heavy rain in the semi tropics. Dog bites man. Ho hum. If you live in an area that floods with heavy rain, Duh. If you live at 3' above sea level next to the gulf, gee, 5' storm surges are not uncommon and can get to 10'. Duh. Don't want to hear you complain about flooding. This happens every time there is heavy rain and winds. The breathless non stop weather people every time there is a storm is tedious.
