Just come across this great video and combined with the pick lesson, I can already feel improvement. I haven't checked out all the other lessons so this might have already been covered but my passion is reggae music. As the skank sounds better and should be played on the downstroke (Ska is normally on the upstroke) this throws out the count and I find Im doing the downstroke on the "and". Are there any adjustments to this technique for playing reggae?
Yes I understand your pain! So the way around this for me, is to double up the amount of strums in a bar. That way both beats that you’re after a going to be on a down strum. Also I’d make sure that the bass note is the main note at the beginning of the bar. So instead of playing one and two and three and four and I would be playing one and a two and a three and a four and a. The ‘a’ would be the Up strum

Hi mark... I have a problem about finger picking... is it possible to arrange finger style playing for a song instantly or atleast by our own... if it can be, is there a concepts for use notes of the song with the chords and choosing the place of the bar we have to use for a particular chord.... i think this may be a question related to scales... i have watch all videos you have posted about scaling.... can you help with this please... um struggling for that
Hi Mark. I'm getting a little frustrated because I cannot get a consistent/even 'purchase' on the strings and when I do, I tend to catch either the top or bottom E strings or both? What am I doing wrong or what am I not doing?
