Feuerschwanz states:
“‘The world definitely needs another ABBA cover!’ That must have gone through Hodi's head when he made a highly dubious bet on New Year's Eve 2021/22. If Memento Mori beats Voyage by ABBA in the German album charts, we will create a cover version! Hodi, as a self-confessed non-fan of the Swedish band, then had to admit two things to himself: Firstly, Memento Mori reached number 1, so he has to make the bet true. Secondly, the ABBA songs are not bad at all - quite the opposite! So listen to the folk metal version of ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!’ - I wonder if there was mead involved? Certainly. Does the world really NEED ANOTHER ABBA cover? Probably not. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.“

This song was based on a bet Prinz Hodenhertz (Ben Metzner, the long haired vocalist) made with the fans during the 2021 new years eve album release live stream. If the new album would beat ABBA in the charts. e.g. become #1 he would write an ABBA cover. Two weeks later Memento Mori entered the German album charts at #1. Now he fulfilled his part of the bet. He who says "A" also has to say "BBA".
1979 Abba released this song before my time I first heard it in the late 80s remember my parents jamming out to this song lol

This is a legendary Abba song that has seducted lots of musicians from diverse music fields.From metalheads to Famous dejays and Madonna.
You gotta try the original 1979 too.Abba's utopic vocals by Agnetha and Frida,the killer keyboard riff and the addictive guitar n bass are out of this world.Still fresh and as good as new.
I would prefer they make their own cover, like it was suggested :"the winnder drinks it all" ;)
Beseech from Sweden did that Gimme Gimme Gimme cover 17+ years ago in a very harmonic and gothic style combining the deep voice of Erik Molarin with Lotta Höglin. Give it a try, there might some version still available here

In the beginning we see all of their 'vices' which would be disapproved of by the church! Drinking, erotic fantasies, questioning religion (staring critically into bible and getting the cross turned around later) and the two monks with the footmassage, who also hold hands later and ignore the woman danceing for them, are suggested to be lovers. The one who made the 'sexy' drawings of ladies gets carted off for some fun!
