Chinese Street Food Spicy - Chinese Street Food - Street Food China
Chinese street food and Chinese food is so diversified and delicious. I took a high speed train to Leshan, China and I've been eating street food and really spicy Sichuan food. Best Street Food I've tried! The Chinese food is so good in Leshan, Sichuan! I've eaten Asian/Chinese street food in in lots of places, and Street food in China is some of the best I've eaten. I've tried street food in Shanghai, street food in Beijing, street food in Chengdu, and Street food in Guangzhou, all of which has been amazing, but I have to say that the chinese street food in Leshan has been some of the best!

HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

'When you study a second language, everyone has an accent.'
BAM... you win the internet today with that common sense pearler that often doesn't occur to most people.
it's funny how a western speaks any other language ppl get amused and suprise.but when a Asian speaks English it's just a Asian speaking English lol
yea except a non western speaking English will still be accepted as American (or whatever western nationality we're talking about). IN contrast, Trevor will never be accepted as a Chinese.
Mandarin is a lot harder to learn than english.
Ganaria Gente i wouldn't say never be accepted as Chinese. China doesn't have a recent history of immigration. but during the Tang dynasty its been said many mid easterners, and possibly S. Easterners settled in China. plus China had several religions coming in. there are Muslims, even some Jewish community in China.
I think it's more so bc most Americans aren't exactly known for their vast knowledge of languages. English is spoken the world over
I'm Chinese and I speak decent French. When French people hear me speak French, they react similarly. It's just the novelty of it.
what i like about trevor is that he takes time to actually talking, socializing, be friendly n learn what' ok to say n not n interacting w locals in any countries he goes to, n it's what we can't/hard to see in other food-trip youtubers
11:44 when the lady saying your English is good, he replied "一般般” (just so so). That is so Chinese style answer. Humble. He really dips into Chinese culture. Haha
"English" should be "Chinese" .
Yup, 一般般 (just so so) 还好还好 (it's alright) 过奖过奖 (you're too generous) are all ways to be generous when people compliment you in China.
Not English bro "Chinese".
He will. Marry Chinese
nah that's the Canadians humble
Child: Your accent is weird
Trevor: But you understand me
Child: Yes, I understand
Trevor: Then no problem.
*Savage*
we saw the video
People in this video seem more open and friendly than in other videos no?
I was just thinking the same, everyone seems so nice in this video.
The only exception was MSG bomb lady, but otherwise agree.
loati94 my father is from Leshan, which is a small but famous city in deep inland China, attracting many tourists every year. People's life there are so slow and relaxed, and I guess that's why everyone take their time and are friendly
sichuan people are probably the nicest people in China.
people in smaller cities are usually more friendly than bigger cities.
I was just in Leshan last week, and I was so sad to find out that the hongtang bing lady is gone! We asked around to a few different people and they all responded with a 没有了!So sad since we were sooo excited to try it after seeing your video! We did get to try the shaomai, boboji, and the blade-sheared noodles, all of which were AMAZING! Thanks for all of the great tips @thefoodranger
did she pass away?
@@TeeRichards 😥
I live in Texas and we have a lot of 1st and 2nd generation Chinese Americans and I have honestly never met a rude person. They share so many values and morals that we have in Texas, it is amazing.
I love how you interact with the locals. The little girl was so curious about your accent and your explanation was a great teaching moment for her. I always end up feeling so hungry after watching your videos. I am going to go make instant noodles, cover them up in Sriracha and pretend they are as good as the food you eat :)
I've been trying homemade Chinese food lately and I found it amazing! thanks for the video, it's cool
I love this guy! Super friendly and enthusiastic! You can tell he is passionate by the way that he speaks. You sir are awesome!
Enjoyed this series Trevor. I love the ease with which you communicate with people on your travels.
I love how happy the restaurant owners are to see your reaction! They seem so proud of their food.
Another mouth watering video. Makes me hungry again and i just ate.
So great to hear that, thanks buddy!!
u r really crazy : lol
After only seeing a handful of videos, I absolutely love this channel. The host is awesome.
I adore the way you interact with the locals. You have an ability to brighten up all of their day! Absolutely adorable!!!
Everyone says your Chinese is very good, but the kid tells the truth, lol
haha
童言无忌。😂
hahaha
"very good" means as a Chinese, I understand everything he says, accent is not a problem at all.
His Chinese actually quite good. I can fully understand everything he said and without subtitles.
Trev mate, you are killing it. Great quality, differing dishes each time. Making me really miss China!
Thanks for sharing all those videos!!! I can’t stop watching them!

Damn the way you handled the little kid was really awesome to me. Super respectful and relaxed.
My Chinese wife won't let me watch your videos around her any more because they make her too hungry!
Richard Westmoreland 哈哈哈,太搞笑了
Richard Westmoreland 哈哈,你老婆很逗
Dare I ask if she's a good cook? Perhaps you could persuade her to take a trip to China just for the food!
Yeah :-) We actually went to Chendu and Guilin for our honeymoon last year.
you look weird
Oh Trevor! You make me laugh, and just so happy! You're idea of a "pre-dinner snack" is totally up my alley. I love your love of spicy food, your facial expressions, and just your enthusiasm. #chilioilforlife!

What a rough life. When a kid judges your accent. You know it must be hard to learn Chinese and speak it perfectly.

Btw, how did you learn to speak Mandarin fluently? How did you start?
Check out his 'more about me' video
fabulous episode!
i love these videos!! thanks man
this guy is a big time spice lover
Trevor you owe us all an explanation. how do you eat so many large portions in a day? there's no way you eat all that
Hey buddy! Let me think here:
1) Breakfast pocket, ate 3 to get the shots and angles and photos.
2) Brown Sugar pocket, ate 2
3) Shaomai dumplings - Shared one steamer with Ting Ting
4) Noodles - Finished the bowl
5) Bobo Ji - Ate enough skewers, not a ton but a few, then they take the bowl and give it to someone else
6) Leshan Duck- Finished the serving with Tingting by the end of the day
7) Tofu Brain - Unfortunately I finished this one, don't know why
8) Beef soup, finished, "Torpedo" Soup - UNFINISHED, Spicy/Numbing Blood- UNFINISHED
So I suppose I finished everything except the "Torpedo", and the Blood. And there was some rice left over too.
thanks for the reply.
that's a lot, but makes sense and all good food too.
all the best! :)
You missed "bing fen" and "dan hong gao"冰粉,蛋烘糕。that's must try in leshan.
who is ting ting?
the girl that films it all, and I believe helps edit, and his "roommate"
Great explanation and informative!!
Awesome video and I like your perspective about learning a second language.
Your videos are awesome,Bro Thanks!!!
Thanks so much Diego!
TOFU brain is not actually brain, just really soft tofu....the penis is penis, for real....:o)
WOW that's is my hometown ~ welcome to le shan again :)
another great video. Just moved to Leshan, great to see you have the addresses, I will check some of these places out...cheers.
The respect you show to everyone is reciprocated ten fold back. An excellent example of how people should back when traveling abroad.
At 3:15 it looks like the guy riding the bike is having a confrontation with the guy pulling his car out. Your videos are like comfort food to me...great job!
I don't really like the texture of the sweet potato noodles...what do you think?
Aha Foreals I saw that to!
ha ha ....beeeef

"A little pocket of glee." I love it!
Thank you for covering Leshan. Makes home a little closer here in California. Please do a few more if you ever have the chance, you have to check out 潘六娘绍子面! All the best to you and your culinary adventures!!!
Wow love siu mai and that was many on your videos make me wanna eat it now...Well done. Thanks for sharing..Keep it up ;)
I remember the first time i tried Chinese Food. Omg!! I cried so hard
Tears of joy or pain?
Shaomai ... 😍😍😍
I found your blog by happenstance but I’m really enjoying it I’m a foodie myself Chef for many years on the Oregon coast, retired to Montana though. You are a brave soul ! Enjoyed this one lots of entertainment value. I am half Japanese and I can relate to the MSG we used it like it was salt! Ha! Great work keep it up love seeing all the different foods and your very descriptive I can almost taste it😋🤠
Very interesting and such wonderful friendly people you meet in your travels.
Wow! I have to pause here and get more snacks.... When you asked the dumpling guy for "one", it couldn't be a single dumpling, I thought maybe one bowl? One whole steamer tray! And just mix your own oil and stuff. That looks so great and would easily be twenty bucks in the US, if you could find it. And there wouldn't be any MSG b/c people are weird about it.... Man, only 1/3 of the way into this video and I'm already jealous and out of snacks.
Lo mejor del universo, sazón oriental. Me encanta su aportación gastronómica al mundo.
That was refreshing, great vid.
amazing video dude. love it,
So nice people
“He’s giving me advertising” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Dude - I can't stop laughing when you said, "just like the first time I had Penis!" I bet when you edited this you laughed too. Excellent video dude.
Every time I watch your video I get super hungry.
That's great to hear!
Love your videos 👍
I come from Chongqing. Now live in Brisbane. In the past 6 years, just back hometown once. Watching your videos is kind of vent for my hometown sickness. Thank you.
Trevor James you are Lucky person on earth
Such a mistake when you're hungry :((
AnnaElisavetta Vonnedozza YES!!😭
Thanks alot for putting chinese subtitles on for when you are speaking chinese ! Helps alot with my own chinese :D
another great vid!
8:28 He was ready to smack that kid.
Miserable Billionaire 😂
damnn, is food really that cheap out there??so I can go live there 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@daniel halachev as a chinese i must say food is not expensive in china.
Im from the Future do not go in China!
Wow amazing
In Leshan now. Eating some of your recommendations. Thanks!
im wondering whos filming all this, he must be starving lol
I think its his GF Ting Ting. You can find her in his Celebrate 100k Subscribers video.
um its her fiance
Jason Chen his wife stand there and films why he eats. She Nevers gets to eat. In his last videos, she is seeing begging for food from vendors and licking his plates clean. Its sad
King The German Shepherd which video?
King The German Shepherd you hella dumb that never happened wtf...
I wonder how the camera man is able to tape at him making all these emotions while eating food
Thankyou for your videos, we are headed to china and wanted to know what the food was like. We have seen three of your utube videos.
Your videos are really awesome. Super respectful and curious. Mad PROPS.
You should subtitle (in Chinese) when you speak in English. You would get more followers across the water. Says me from Wisconsin. I wouldn't have a clue how to write or speak Chinese, but you are awesome.
no worry dude, people across the water don't have access to this video
Unknown Soul Unfortunately I am not sure if Chinese have access to youtube without using some form of a proxy or a vpn. And general public would not use a vpn and even if they did, its very unlikely that they would stumble across this video. This is the reason why his India videos are more popular than Chinese street food videos.
why do alot of guys roll their T-shirt up when eating ?
I noticed that in different videos
12:14 for example
It's just hot outside, good for cooling yourself down. Try it :)
Kro Gon it's not only when they're eating. They do that as a way to cool down since China can be really hot and humid.
I was looking for this comment as soon as I noticed the guy in the video. A guy rolled up his shirt in Enter Noodle Heaven video too.
But anyway I googled it and it said it's their way of coping up with heat or eating spicy food when it's hot outside.
Man feel hot so they roll their t-shirt, it's quite common in china
Kro Gon Because it is too hot when eating such spicy food under hot weather. Haha
you are the best bro.keep it up!
