I can tell you that I got both and you want to smell like a woman you can go for the ysl myslf. The elixir is actually not that bad it’s just a fresh shower scent with an addictive drydown. However it’s up to you. But I wouldn’t recommend any of the ysl
For men perfume Myslf is actually unique. Smells like orange with vanilla. The problem with men's fragrances is the repetitive dna that smell like aftershave lotion . Thank god JPG destroyed that tradition with Le male perfumes
I think myself is a much easier wear of course and The Elixir I do pick up a little bit of the oud but it just kind of throws it off a little bit to me. It doesn't seem like a spicy Elixir kind of fragrance
Y L'Elixir smells nothing like other Y's. Smells like intense chlorine with natural clean soap😅 of course everyone has a different reception, but there are many people around the world who feel the same and also all of my friends that I gave the test strip to smell. Don't know what YSL was doing here.
Yeah idk either. I actually stated this chlorine smell in my friend Chad from agentlemansjourney review coming soon. I do think it for sure has the y dna in it however, but to each their own
@@ChadSecrets Maybe I was too distracted by the strong chlorine smell to notice the Y DNA, apart from the chlorine smell it is very steril so I never smelled much of notes. But maybe if we strip it down to the Y EdT I could see a similarity in a way. Y EdT is like white shirt dipped in cold fresh water with fabric softner - clean, woody and powdery masculine while L'Elixir is as if someone removed the sweetness and added chlorine😁 I find the best description of L'Elixir is as if someone reverse engineered or took the source code and stripped out everything nice about it down to the very basic left of the code.
Definitely don’t recommend the edp intense smells like the elixir just weaker and less versatile. The elixir does smell like a elixir just like the dior sauvage just that the ysl y elixir goes in direction aquatic and freshness like the freshness you would go out right after a fresh shower with fresh washed clothes.
Much respect bro, and I love your channel and your perspectives, but in my humble opinion, I think you're wrong in calling the elixir a letdown. In general, what is a letdown to fragrance Enthusiasts is going to be subjective and it'll be different compared to The masses and they will think it smells good. Myself is very, very very generic and smells like so many other bubble gum, sweet fragrances. It's not worth anyone's time if you have a lot of those. And I think a lot of people in the fragrance community are way too crazy about niche types of smells And oudh. I come from a community where Oud is extremely prized and very important to wear. It's overrated. It smells weird and it's not safe. But with this new elixir that smells amazing unlike any of the other weird spiced up stupid elixirs that we've been getting recently. It smells masculine, clean, soapy, and extremely fresh in the perfect type of way, You just can't go wrong. It's very incorrect for anyone to say that the elixir smells like the entire rest of the line. Smells way better and extremely different in my opinion. I think people were just expecting something like sauvage elixir And for it to be way darker. But Ysl knows exactly how to create something that is going to please the masses and get you compliments. And that's by smelling clean and fresh! It definitely is an extremely high price for something that we don't associate with The label of being an elixir, But dude, it's overall a really amazing scent. I have been getting so many compliments from so many strangers. It's insane. It's different and in my opinion not generic at all. This has been a game changer for those who like freshies And smelling clean. And remember guys, women like men who smell fresh. But, if You fragrance youtubers have been hard on the elixir because you're trying to get YSL to decrease the price so that we can all enjoy the fragrance, then please disregard everything I said above lmao. At the after-party, this hot pharmacist came up to me and asked "is that you, ____?" And I said, "yeah, do you like it?" And then she put her hand on my chest and brought her nose right up to my neck and said "yep, that's you." Needless to say, but I'm going on a date with her next weekend 😏 So bro, you have to listen to the ladies for this one. Lol
Well im going based on their description of the fragrance. I have smelled all the ingredients they say are in here and can accurately say that the ingredients in this fragrance are very low quality. which, in my opinion is a let down.
