I second going to the salon. I felt like shit after I had my daughter. I got to the salon and of course my daughter was waking up and I started to cry. The hairdresser said " don't worry we'll watch your daughter and we will make beatiful." When the hairdresser was done and showed me my hair I cried again😂. It was literally the best haircut and coloring that I've ever had.
I’m also on the “it’s Mimi or nobody” train with my kiddos. My husband keeps trying, but leaving my kids with anyone other than my mom is a no go for me. We’re so lucky that she lives a few mins away.

We have also never hosted friends, only family. We just moved a few months ago and finally have the space and furniture to do so. But I’m super nervous. Especially about what to serve because I’m not picky & neither are my kids so our palettes are definitely different
I see so many people complaining on Instagram about how their village didn't just arrive when their baby was born. Sometimes you have to build one.
& honestly sometimes you just do it without one.
That is me. I am having to get creative and learn trust people. I'm in Louisiana and my parents are in California. Just my husband and I with our 4 year old son. We have found a great church with amazing people who loves us. I think it takes time to build a village.

I’m trying to build that village but it seems like I’m always the one to initiate. :/ we all get along great, but 🤷♀️ . I always try to accommodate them and whatever is easiest. (Like where is easiest for them to meet etc and I make sure my kids always have their own food if we go over to someone’s house, or tell my kids we’re here to play not eat etc) am I doing something wrong?
Life gets busy. A lot of people don’t prioritize certain things so it can make you feel like you’re the one always initiating.

I initiate too but it has to be at my place then. I’m not doing all the organizing for nothing. I only do as much as I can reasonably handle.

I’m a hairstylist, I own my own business, and just a fresh trim even freshens up your colour. People are always amazed with a nice trim to take those rough ends off and the light can finally reflect off your hair 😊❤
