DSRX100 yeah, you can try. I don’t know though since I don’t live here. Sometimes, they postpone on holidays. At least in Lexington, they postponed on Fourth of July.
It's a little confusing, but from what I've found, attack is sounded for severe thunderstorms for 5 minutes. Alert is sounded for the entire duration of a tornado warning.
I think you're getting the MCP and SiraTone controller mixed up here. The MCP sounds similar to a UV controller. This unit probably had a SiraTone cabinet when it was installed. Even though the old SiraTones sound nice, they weren't the best in terms of quality and it's actually good this was replaced.
DSRX100 ok, thanks! Plus, there was actually a completely new siren installed near the grade school, over close to the airport a year ago. It’s a modulator, and the other units out here got replaced last December, and the city is now running pure FS modulators. The Time Square Mall siren was moved. When it was EOWS, the siren was originally closer to the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot, and stoplights next to it, but they moved the entire siren still close to the mall, but across the street from it. Which makes sense, so the employees aren’t in need of learning sign language after every test, get it? I was on a trip there recently when I found out about it.
@@GMTX-kg8ep I actually just took a trip down there yesterday and got a recording. That one siren by the grade school actually replaced a 612 too. Luckily they reused that nice steel pole for the new siren and it's the only thing left of the old system I'm afraid. I've got an old recording of it too. The one new Modulator they added was at Lincoln Park and didn't replace anything. But honestly, I think they should've just kept the 612s and add the Mods for extra coverage. Some parts of town still aren't covered well.
DSRX100 oh wow! I had a feeling I was mistaken. Do you plan to upload the Modulator test? I’ll look forward to it. I was thinking they installed a modulator somewhere before the entire replacement went on.
@@GMTX-kg8ep Yes, that would be the Lincoln Park one. It's at the Southwest side of town, near the hospital and Interstate. Currently, I'm finishing up editing a T-128 video then, I'll start working on the new Modulator video. I'm expecting to get it finished in two weeks, maybe earlier. It all depends how things go.
Was this the same EOWS that sounded like a Modulator 1004? Am I right? Because I feel like this is the same one. I don't pay attention to the titles that much, so I could just be the dumbass here.
This is a different one from the same city. But this one is using a UV controller instead of an MCP. And all Mods sound pretty much the same whether it's a 1004 or a 6024, just so you're aware ;)
DSRX100 Alright, thanks. I'm probably gonna poke around and ask questions about some sirens because I wanna record some in the future. I live in the prairies of Canada though, and you might think sirens are often, right? NOPE, I swear there are almost no sirens in the god damn area! If only I were to travel to very, very small towns and film the fire station sirens, and there is one about an hour or so away, and I believe its a Federal Signal Model 5. Is it worth it?
UPDATE: As of December 2018, this siren has been replaced by a Modulator 8032B.
NO I am sad now
Poor EOWS612
E
@Haisamu Kun they were old and outdated
Rip
2:57 LOVE the echo! Great video of that EOWS 612! Attack sounds awesome yet creepy, just like it should be!
Wow that sound quality is so good!
These sirens have been upgraded December, 2018! They’re now modulators. Any idea if you’ll be out here again?
Really? That's crazy. I thought they would've added more sirens before replacing these ones. Four sirens aren't enough for that town.
I'll probably try New Years Day if they're testing.
DSRX100 yeah, you can try. I don’t know though since I don’t live here. Sometimes, they postpone on holidays. At least in Lexington, they postponed on Fourth of July.
@@GMTX-kg8ep Yeah, this test was actually taken on the Fourth of July, so it's very possible they test again on New Years.
All 4 of the 612s have been replaced. City now has 5 Modulator 8032Bs
Nice video as always!
This siren has since been replaced with a MOD-8032B
How are your collector rings doing?
Nice recording!
Beautiful
I love this system a lot! What are the signals used for?

@@DSRX100 the wind up sounds like a whelen...
Does EOWS stand for Electric Outdoor Warning Siren?
Yes And/Or Emergency Outdoor Warning Siren
OK thanks
Nice wind down. (heheh no) But great siren catch! Those EOWS sirens are my favorites.
i like the UV controls installed but i preferred dual tone
Didn't know this was part of Federal Signal.
Ugh ,I hate when they retrofit EOWS 612d and 1212s with UV controllers ,just keep the MC controller.

@@DSRX100 this is not annoying to me
@@DSRX100 and also good wail sounds like a whelen
and its more of those EOWS that sounds like hawaii mods
The Owl Fan new channel
That would be due to the 612s in Mount Vernon having UltraVoice controller boxes similar to the FS Modulators in Hawaii.
k
voice the alert messages by all cleared
Looks like a giant light for a sports field or something
I couldn't help but notice that EWOSs sounds similar to federal signals
+BC- 15 Number 1 they are pronounced “EOWS”
Number 2 they are made by Federal Signal.
Holy crap you were in my town!!! XDDD
Can you send the article you read about the sirens?

Single tone Ultravoice. Meh.
That's cool, I also recorded a siren July 4th

Siren community beware! BlueSheep YT has changed its name to something 666!
I thought all the EOWS where extinct
There's quite a few, I mean it's far from common, but not rare either.
the wail mode makes it sound like a police car siren, or an ambulance siren.
