I loved seeing Zach with the Purdue boys. It's exactly where he belonged. That team will be brothers for life.
This Memphis team is going to be so fun to watch.
They also picked up the steal of the 2024 draft by drafting GG Jackson in the second round in 2023! 😂 If healthy they have some additions to their playoff core: Vince Williams, GG, Edey, Marcus Smart, maybe Scottie Pippen Jr if he keeps improving.... They need to make some more moves to consolidate and improve talent though. But a ton of fun!
This was the best fit for him with Ja and JJJ as help defender stretch 4.
It’s a good pick, Edey has the height wingspan and strength to guard players inside and JJJ can come from the other side to block shots

The first 8 teams will regret they didn't drafted the two-time player of the year monster! Nobody can guard Edey and he destroyed Clingan in the championship game. He will be ROY.
You might want to watch the game again. After an initial burst, Edey does little until padding his numbers in the extended garbage time. Meanwhile, the UConn offense was "abuse Edey's defensive liabilities."
Nah. You can’t blame that loss on Edey. Purdue was the 2nd best shooting team in college basketball and couldn’t buy a 3 in the championship. UConn was the overall better team but if Purdue had played at their norm that conversation changes.

Edey scored 37 on Cling... cling scored 8 with Edey on the floor (Cling had a bucket and a and 1 against Furst when they rested Zac for 30 secs to get his 11 pts) ..... that is just the facts .. 1 on 1 Cling got rocked by Zac ... so it begs the question if they play man to man in the NBA .. why would Donovan outplay Zach in the NBA head to head 1 year from now? He won't ...

Simple question: name the players in the NBA that can stop Zach Edey one on one in the post?
Facts. People keep talking about him switching like every single big in the NBA doesn't have a problem when they switch on to a dynamic ball handler. My counter is how do u stop Edey on the other end, especially with Ja as his PG.
@EthaJeffaP_68 those people have to realize that's not why the Grizzlies drafted him. He is there to rebound and be a legit post option when they have to play half court basketball. Those 2 areas were the Grizzlies' biggest weakness. They already have a big that can shoot (Aldama), and they already have 2 bigs that can switch ( JJJ, Clarke). What they didn't have is a big body that can bang in the post.

@@brandoonf6962 Wemby’s 210 lbs. vs. Edey 299 lbs.? Wemby is a great player but they would NEVER risk putting Wemby one on one against Zach in the post. He’d be on the bench with 2 fouls in 2 possessions.
Edey just needs to board, make backdoor passes to Bane, Ja, etc, set hard screens. Finish some lobs.
Edey had a faster lane agility score than Kawhi Leonard , Pascal Siacam and Clingham which is interesting sine all these doubters say he is too slow.

He's incredibly durable. He's a dream Memphis big man. I don't get why anyone thinks Clingan is a better prospect.

Zach Edey wont play more than 15 mins a game hes slow no playmaking has zero offense outside of 8 and defensive liability
you never watched him play... seen him kick it out to shooters which was why Purdue was best 3 pt team in nation...set massive screens for his teammates that set up scoring for him (player of the year) and his teammates leading to lots of wins and a final 4...
