If there's one more thing I want to add is please support the CCs who are standing up and saying no. By leaving the program and its benefits they are making a massive sacrifice and especially for the smaller creators, this will have a greater impact on them. Show them the love and support. As for future content and direction, please let me have a few days to think things over :) Thank you all for the many years of love and support, you have no idea how much I appreciate all of you. I am going to support you guys, if you decide to end all warships content I'll support that. Honestly, not sure what I'll do since warships is one of the few games I can play online that I don't have to have ultra-twitch reflexes for. It might be sunk cost fallacy at work though. You've heard my personal opinion I think its a mix of a company's 'How dare you criticize us for providing you something that no one else will.' along with seeing new laws come into effecting many countries, and trying to grab as much as they can as quickly as they can, with no actual care about the game at all.
It feels very similar to Games Workshop's recent crapola, and kind'a feels like I've been betrayed twice, though as Jingles said, they've never cared about us anyway, all they've cared about is our money, its what Corporations do.

As a "veteran" in WG`s games i certainly support you CC`s. I wish you folks whould have done stuff yrs ago. But better late than never.

I agree and we do have a name for when the accountants run the company this is what you see as long as the bottom is good they will continue the practices. This happens with just about any company that grows over a certain size, the cost and profit margins become more important than the product. Sometimes they fold but usually someone comes along and fixes things moves on and it all happens all over again.
Honestly, I feel like most of them are about two or three years late to the "WG is scum" party. We've all been saying it for years while the unicum CC's played apologist. Now that WoWs is finally dying because of how brazen WG has become in their scams, of course all the CC's are jumping ship.

I applaud you for doing the right thing and stepping down. As an ambassador of this community with WG, it's the right thing to do. I would really question the integrity of any CC who is not leaving at this point. This needs to be the biggest stand and middle finger to WG or nothing will change. This is our moment.
Without Jingles i wouldnt have even known about WoWs, without you i wouldnt have been excited enough to sign up for CBT. I spent over 6 years in WoWs and spent a significant amount of money into WoWs, yet I’ve been playing less and less as the game is simply not the enjoyable game that it used to be. It’s really a shame the direction WG has taken with WoWs, especially when you imagine what could have been a very enjoyable game for years to come.. Thank you for your work as CC all these years O7
I do agree that wg is making many mistakes, I think that the game isn’t getting less fun, it might just be personal burnout after 6 years for you.

@@MaxerWolf have you even played the game casually or with friends in a while, if you aren’t playing ranked or clan battles and just playing tech tree or premium ships for fun and not spending exorbitant amounts of money on the game it is very fun.

I have followed Jingles religiously for years, and can tell you that leaving the WoWs CC program really hit him. You could hear it in his voice during his “Mingles with Jingles” video today (08/16/2021).
CCs are the people who i learnt all about this game from, starting from the very basics to mechanics and gameplay. i owe them everything in being able to have fun in-game. i have always supported them as much as i could but now the time has come to close my wallet for WG and use it to support these amazing people even more. i am happy about your decision and i wish you the very very best in whatever you do going ahead. i will always support you and all other CCs..cheers 👍👍👍👍

The management issue referred to is called the “Peter Principle”. Whereas a person will advance in their profession through the ranks until they reach a level beyond their competence level and will remain in that position to the detriment of their organization.
What detriment? Wargaming has made sick stacks of cash selling P2W crap to whales for over a decade now.
From their perspective, they can completely afford the naked contempt they have for their playerbase, because WG has had their players by the balls.

It really sucks when a company does this and puts the content creators that have done so much for their game in crappy positions. Either stay the course for the money/benefits while knowingly misleading your audience that everything is fine or leave and give up what might be or is a relatively stable career. Hopefully you and others will be alright with whatever you choose to do. At least for me I don’t follow people only for the game more so their personality. Hell I haven’t touched WoWs in years after being in the beta yet I still watch multiple creators for it because they are entertaining. Obviously the smaller the creator the harder it is but there is plenty of games to play and cover.

I hated the CVs. The subs are just as big a mistake. Neither belongs in the game. Indeed the subs may be the final straw that pushes me uninstall.
Funnily enough, subs may end up collecting dust because the early reports are that they as fun as watching paint dry.
WG should have listened to its user base about CVs and subs.
I play Submarines, it's a fun new gimmick.

Yeah, WoWS is not in a good spot right now. WG is so out of touch with their player base. Just look at their recent Discord QnA. Wargaming needs to realize that if they keep screwing over their customers, they WILL no longer have customers. I think they need to wake up and realize that this is a huge problem that needs to be addressed.
iChase, I appreciate you man. I love watching your videos, especially the educational ones when it comes to naval engineering and design. As for me, I'm not planning on buying anything towards this game for the next while, unless they announce Azur Lane Collab or when Brandenburg comes out. When it is all said and done, what percentage of the total player base uses the forums, or reddit, or watches CCs regularly? A portion, yes. But I worry there are more than enough players who just log in and don't really pay attention to any of the related stuff. The weebs will still bleed out of the nose (and pockets) for waifu-botes. Clubbers will plop down cash for the latest power creep monster. And rng addiction will bring in still more. Wargaming looks like they are actually banking on driving away older, cynical players. When this blows over, they will probably do some massive recruitment drive bringing in people who don't know any better. It is baseline shift in action.

I watched your videos since I was a kid in secondary school. I still remember those mornings, mornings which I wake up checking for his videos, seeking for that calming voice introducing me to yet another aspect to the game. I did not speak much English back then, so the quality and smoothness in your language not only soothed me, but also taught me much. In that single year, I went from TOEFL score 28 to 103, with much help from dear Chase.
Years passed, now I am in Uni. Before Uni, I got 8.5 in IELTS, nearly perfect score, 0.5 from complete perfection.
Suddenly, at that moment memory of WOWS surges back into my brain, the memories of Chase who not only aided me in the game, but also formed a core part of the young me. I was curious to see how Chase is still very much active, I was glad, well, until I realized how much of a trash that WG is.
And let’s say WG changed the tone of your vids a lot lul. I don’t understand how focked WG is: as entertainment company goes, it’s hard to imagine how their action could single handed l’y shift the tone of one of the most positive youtube that I knew. They are just disappointing.

Bravo for this decision. I wish that all other CCs and players ultimate quit this destructive game because it is a destructive game as it is right now and probably since the 19pt captain rework. After almost 4 years, I've recently quit for the second time. This time, I'm not going back. As talking didn't work, the only way to influence people at WG seems to be not playing and not giving them any more pennys - not even premium time. They need to learn that success comes from listening to their players and not by throwing out any unsollicited crap that will be temporarily buffed while many other things are nerfed or remain nerfed.
Add to this the player toxicity (even in coop now) which could easily be countered with a system that rewards teamplay (like on other PvP games), instead of just rewarding the individual. Also the Karma system (you win a game, kill 4 shups and someone reports you. How fair is thins, wargaming?), the extremely unfair tier match making and this crap about saying that palyers earn too much silver. Try playing coop for instance and you'll realize how for most people having even a small profit on these very short games is impossible from tier 8 upwards.
I used to play everything from coop to ranked. I'm not an unicom but I do agree fully with your views. It's time for players and CCs to do the same that was done on otehr games : take the fight to the enxt level and stop both playing and paying. Let's happens next...

Please don’t let the (sad) direction of the game affect your interest in warships and/or the history of some ships. There are You Tube content creators who publish videos covering the history of naval warfare and of war ships (Drachinfel, Dr Alexander Clarke, Armoured Carriers). There are plenty of great books to read on these topics. And if you are fortunate enough, there are a number of countries that have historically significant war ships that serve as museum ships. These museum ships are wonderful to visit and explore.

The last time I played WOW's was almost a year ago now, and since then I've honestly been less sad about leaving the game. It was extremely pay to win and not to mention the whole gambling thing, it just kept taking away from the fun and with every new update that just gave people who put money into the game more stuff, just kept making me feel less excited to play the game. Nice job iChase for what you did.
I wouldn't say its extremely pay2win in any sense though.. i mean sure paying can help get you some stuff but isnt that the case for most free to download games? For wows you dont *need to pay* they have provided more than enough ship lines to the point where you dont need premium ships to have enough entertaining unique experiences. And even then they have serveral means by which you can get premium ships for free anyway.
I mean, ive been a a f2p player from the beginning and have had as much fun with the game as anyone else had

Unless... your only desire is to gain permanent camos, new ships that haven't been fully released yet, premium time and a large number of premium ships along with any other unnecessary thing you can think of that doesn't actually give you any kind of advantage over others in a gamplay sense then sure this game is 'pay2win' or whatever. How dare a company try to make money... they should just hand us everything for free!!

I left in May of this year. Subs, super sized ships, and more planes than the Netherlands actually has was too much for me
Been playing since CBT and kinda left early/mid last year. CV rework, AA nerf, HE spam that they've only made worse, SAP, gimmicks for the sake of gimmicks, and by far the loot boxes. I knew where we were headed when they added the daily crates but people kept saying they wouldn't go further. Joke's on them. I was still salty about the removal of stealth firing as now my Gremyaschy is just not very competitive as it used to be. There's way too much powercreep.
Thank you so much doing this, you a right enough is enough. It is a huge integrity move to make a sacrifice and stand up for what you think is right. Hopefully this will convince WG that they need to change, but im not holding my breath... (also if you ever decide to make any non wows videos in the future I would totally watch them and im sure a lot of others would too)

Lootboxes are disgusting and take the spotlight rightfully. However, you can just decide to not buy them (I hope all of you dont).
The worst thing for me is the constant reduction of rewards for just playing the game. You cant avoid this.
We had elite captain XP gain stomped into rock bottom. No more flags for achievements. Also way less camos from events. Plus they dont give a damn anymore on releasing new campaigns and collections.
And do you remember when you did get 10k coal for a nice, funny and quick ranked sprint ? Not anymore, WG is going sure that this game feels like a job you have to pay for and not like fun for your free time.
I wish someone with too much money buys this game, rolls it back to its 2019 state and takes that as the foundation for a nice and balanced game.

lets just take a simple example at the very basic level , of why WG suck balls , you pay for an upgrade on your turrets , you get a faster traverse , they ALWAYS add a slower reload , so ...whats the fucking point of even upgrading , you buy a range upgrade on the fire control , yay , 10% extra range , oh ....we also slowed the traverse as a side effect ..pointless shit , every step forward is accompanied by a step back

I i think we are asking the wrong questions
I started with WG by getting into WOT nearly 10 years ago from that time till about 3 years ago I put thousands of dollars into both WOT and WoWs. Since about 2017 I have put less and less money in till now I'm at ZERO. Good move WG. Pissing off your player base is a GREAT financial move. My hat off to all the CCs who are saying enough is enough.
Been with Wot for over 8 years and like you, spent a lot of money for entertainment. They refuse to fix mm, nerfed HE to the point that derp tanks are worthless, and nerfed arty into oblivion. On top of it they’re going to shove crew 2.0 down our throats and have now ruined frontlines with tier 9’s. After finding out I was able to have the pleasure of grinding xp on my freaking premium tanks for field modifications, I quit. Idiots.
This is going to sound harsh, but since I've been screaming into a void for years on the matter of predatory practices and the monolithic gaming publishers who keep pushing them, only to see my favorite hobby collapse into a spiral of unrestricted corporate greed, contempt and laziness, I'm putting this here: You get what you pay for, one way or another.
Paying thousands in premiums to a company that refuses to fix basic balance issues for years on end, while pushing nakedly obvious pay-2-win schemes is frankly, the definition of willful stupidity. Like, this isn't complex: When a company regularly create problems solely to sell the solution, there is no reason to continue supporting them by any logical measure, in any other industry. Period.
But since gamers are by large spineless autistic hamsters who love to hear themselves talk more than they do think or act, it perhaps isn't so surprising that excessively predatory corporations like Wargaming not only exist, but have come to dominate the industry in the intervening decade.
Wargaming's overt contempt for you today was born from years of them puppeteering you into paying more for less and walking away with mints of cash. They don't respect you because they abused you for years and you fucking PAID THEM to keep doing it.

This isn't the game I used to play. Which is why I stopped playing it. When a game company uses a community to only share what they want to share as a positive n to never listen to feedback or actual constructive criticism to make the game genuinely better... and to introduce straight up gambling... might as well call yourself 'Cult Contributors'instead...
I’m a f2p player so I don’t even get enticed by the scams that I have seen. But I consider myself lucky of not falling into the money pit. I used to enjoy the game a lot, but now I only find myself playing my powercrept ships when I am bored. Between the different ships that have been added to the downright illegal business practices, I am glad that the most influential and loyal players have realized all of this has gone on for too long and is only getting worse. Stay strong and onwards to better things iChase.
P.S. Submarines will probably make me leave the game for good once they are added to randoms given that the screw up the state of the game and all of the gameplay entirely
Submarines in the current state seem super boring to play tbh. If they remain this way, people won't play them that much

@@segadorn i forget the name of the CV that has squadrons with a cruiser's worth of HP in them but has a while to wait between attacks... What a perfectly balanced ship that is. I left at that exact moment when i saw flambass playing it :')
@@yann9915 The FDR. I quit the day after it was released as I'm a dd player you simply couldn't do anything to save yourself from them.
submarines, as they are, are just a pile of junk. They made them able to regain their oxygen levels by surfacing at least, because a month ago they planned their oxygen supply to be non-refillable. However, going to attack depth underwater takes too much time, and torps don't do that much damage even with double ping active. And then you are out of energy and are forced to surface and are instakilled.

What you’re talking about is absolutely the truth . I have seen the video on Billill and we all have the same option. The reason why WG can unscrupulous trampling on the bottom line of players is that there’s no competitor in WOWS neither WOT. So they can do whatever they want ,because if players don’t play this game, they have no other choices . Obviously in couple of years ago, wows has just been established and as a new born game he needs praise and support from players so they lessen to feedbacks from players carefully and improve their problem quickly. But now things changed, When WG found that their game had no competition in the market, it meant they could do whatever they wanted without worrying about losing players. What we can do now is get the majority of our players to boycott WOWS, stop charging money into the game, and make them realize they're going too far.

I kinda of expected this from you. You were always one of the most honest CCs with good, constructive criticism of WG. After hearing of LWM's departure, I was sure other CCs would do the same, especially you, but I did not expect it to happen so fast. Truly commendable, sir.
I personally don’t find Wargaming WOWS Legends as bad but maybe it’s because over there, I’m a free to play guy except buying premium account time.
What I get from this video other than WG's moral bankruptcy and the exposed Chernobyl-core levels of toxicity:
WG balances their ships around the ~40% WR players. They really do think that their player base is a bunch of complete and utter knuckle-draggers completely inept and unable to handle the least bit of complexity.
This explains why there are so many exploitable things about the ships if you can think and breathe at the same time.

In every game by WG, the whole community is literally against them. They are just so evil and morally lacking. I am an ex-wows player and I actually stopped because I can't get used to seeing how much paying there is in the game. In-shop prices are reaching the sky and things they sell are sometimes just blatantly op. I now play wot blitz, which is a mobile-pc cross-platform, and a lot of stuff they sell are containers with super strong tanks with a few percent drop chance. This company is just terrible.
This community alone isn't enough.
I highly urge you or any other CC to contact Bellular or Yong Yea or even TheQuartering with a breakdown of all the BS that Wargaming/Vespa does.
They get away with shit that the gaming community crucifies EA for, but there's practically no coverage beyond by content creators within the community.
Edit: Regarding consumer protection laws, I have no doubt that there's at least some of those guys, who work for consumer protection agencies, who watch gaming news RUclipsrs. Get it out to them.

Agreed, I've recently started Tarkov with a bunch of friends in a hurricane clan. They don't even play outside clan battles, nor do they really spend money on it anymore.
Almost 50 hours in Tarkov for the past 3 weeks, and I enjoy it very much (despite my low end laptop spent more than half of it loading and reconnecting).

This is the norm now in every F2P game, gatchas, lootboxes. WG is just following suit, the money is too enticing to pass. What are we, the gamer can do? Every game is lootboxes mechanic.
"You're a unicom. . . you cannot understand the 40% players. . . " Well, I am a 49% player, and I believe you and the other CCs understand quite well the frustration and disappointment we all feel toward WG at the moment.
I am shocked the game targets the 40% players, those are not the players that add to the general game enjoyment at all and CC's and WG themselves should do everything possible to get those players to understand the game better.
@@Tuning3434 Like I get the attitude because, it IS kind of true that a 60-70% unicum IS going to have a different experience from a 40% 'just plays one hour a week and doesn't care about winning or losing' player BUT most Unicum players CAN spot problems and usually it's a trickle down effect. So imagine a Unicum going "ok this seems kind of broken and stupidly easy to do damage with and nobody will take anything else" (aka the Deadeye problem). If something is a problem for Unicums it's going to be a MASSIVE problem for those 50% players and negatively effect the game.
OR the whole "why are you doing a commander skills rework, this seems really fucking pointless, the playerbase never asked for this and this means you're going to have to constantly rebalance 5 different skill trees vs balancing just 1."
Was going to comment here but I think I will start my own comment thread on this point. Short version. I'm not a Unicom and I'm not a 50% player and I don't believe that WG is helping me to become a better player or is catering to me as a below average player.
@@luketfer Not really true at all. R6 Siege had a problem with catering exclusively to "muh l33tpro 360 nozcopez" players, and the game was garbage for everyone else. Eventually Ubisoft told pro players to fuck off, and started balancing for the average player as well. The game was VASTLY improved by targeting balance decisions based on multiple playerbase populations, rather than exclusively pros or potatoes.
As long there's still ppl buying things wg still wins no matter how many cc exit or etc. The best way is all player bases stoppedspending money so wg realized oh shit they're fuck up. And i mean everyone.

Ok, i understand the lootboxes part, but what about Missouri? Yes its a really low hanging fruit, so to speak but i fail to see how it is "bad" in any other way especially since its so many years since it was removed? Seems that some of the perceived issues are more subjective and are mitigated by simply taking a pause from their games. Anyway WG simply fell into the same trap of quick buck long ago instead and is now way too comfortable in order to take any risks (though some of CC's and players are also extremely negative often when WG throws around any fundamental ideas of change in their product and this creates a negative loop).

So we're getting less. AND Wargaming is already being antsy about calling the mission permanent in the first place, which is a MASSIVE red flag that this could go the way of the unique upgrades...
I originally posted this over on another CC’s channel but wanted to post it here in support of CC’s and fellow players who are standing up for what is right.
My friends and I have been playing Wargaming titles for nearly a decade and we’re done.
The skill ammo spam, HE changes, faster speeds, and pigeon holing players into specific play styles, gambling boxes, their increasing departure from supporting history and museums like they use too and their increasing mistreatment of CC’s point to some very problematic issues regarding ethical behavior and failure of leadership within their organization.
It’s too bad. They had some pretty cool games on their hands and were handed their player base on a silver platter but their actions demonstrate that we are just means to an end to them.
I’ve lost count of the number of controversies they’ve chosen to initiate, promote, and justify over the last several years.
We’ll continue to watch CCs like QB, Jingles, Little White Mouse, iChase, etc but the game is catering to a different demographic that does not include those of us who helped to promote the game in its early days when they needed the player base.
This goes beyond a simple explanation of “it’s just a game”. There are some very real world negative consequences they are actively promoting and historically, those choices will catch up with people and impact the player base catastrophically. It’s just a matter of time.
Chase thank you for this so so much. To be honest the game is slowly dying and I would not be surprised if this was WGs way of trying to get as much out of it financially as possible in the years it has left. The way I see things is it is in a similar position to World of Tanks but thanks to management has gotten there far far faster then they ever did. We all love you and hope we will be able to have other ways to support you and your other content that you might come out with in the future. Thank you for standing up for what' is right and keeping us all in the loop.
Lack of respect for the players, is what keeps me away from the game. It's not just one thing, but continually WG just shovels out insults with their one-sided choices.
WG is like.. You play throw ball with them, but when they have the ball they keep it and think about how they can exploit you for as much as possible to throw it back. Every time they have the ball, it gets worse and worse, they demand more and more. All the while, you just wanna throw the ball but it's not what it's about anymore.
And when they actually throw the ball back, it's way off course and you gotta go get it. Instead of improving their ball throwing game, they improve their exploitation options.
At some point, you gotta stop playing with them because they are terrible in every way.

the problem with some CCs is that they complain about the bets and loot boxes, but then they make videos of them spending tens of thousands of doubloons on boxes ... what's the point of complaining? If WG sees that there are people who spend that ... why stop?

Out of curiosity (unless its "classified") How many have left? Cus I will gladly subscribe to them. But yeah, I can't say WG has done much GOOD over past, 3 years or so. Like i started when the Go Navy event was going on, and bought a bunch of crates to afford all the skins with the tokens. Kinda regret that now but hay, ill get to those tier 10 ship EVENTUALLY.
Like what have they done? no more Free XP ships, now its Dockyard where you grind and still have to pay up at the end, i know its only a few thousand dubs but thats still a good chunk of money. They just seem to be pumping premium ship after premium ship, each one more nutz then the last (The Kearsarge is pure WTF, its a US BB with a flight deck smack dab in the middle AND IT HAS FUCKING SPACED ARMOR!). They took away the ability to earn flags for FREE by getting achievements (well i should say get SPECIFIC flags, since now we just have quick easy missions to grind), Those battle royal events where cool i guess, not that i played them.
They still haven't Fixed the CV rework (why do ships have a modifyer called Accuracy that lowers their already low AA value? Why are fighters and AA mounts limited but attack planes are not? Why do all the new ships have AA that makes the old ships look like IJN AA? I hate that the first wave of any CV attack is basically invincible unless aa is concentrated). Now we got Subs on the horizon which seemingly NO one is happy about (they are ether OP or BORING seems to be the 2 extreme camps.)
And last but not least, all their "miscommunications" and broken promises. And ya throw the lootboxes on their too for good measure.
Can't say i blame anymore for leaving, pretty clear they don't care.
I will probably make a small update video with all the people who end up leaving, don't want to leave the smaller guys out. For now the list is myself, Jingles, Flambass, LittleWhiteMouse (forums only) with others still in the process of getting their messages prepped

Lololol I know the in-game and other channel outlets for feedback are more as front to pretend they care about player feedback. From how the HE changes were announced in the video how they were going to get player feedback before implementing it, the video was worded that also said that the changes were coming regardless of what players wanted lolol I will thankfully lose all my gold, and 9 or 10 years of stuff on my account if the company suddenly died :)
To be honest, whether you're a CC or not, as a content creator its more important to have fun and enjoy yourself on the streams or videos that you do and enjoy the most. In terms of the program with a title of Community Contributor (CC) I had thought about it from both sides, I go with the philosophy that if you're not enjoying it, think about it first and then if its time to move on do the right thing for yourself. As long as you're happy we are with you all the way regardless of which.
WG has been appreciative of what we have done with advertising the game/franchise over the years but most recently that its becoming more and more apparent - and to be honest - it sucks.
You know what is funny, I am from Belgium, so anything to comes close to loot boxes it being from real money or some sort of premium ig currency means these are banned here. Those are place to protect younger kids, which I get but as a 22 yr old its more than just a nuisance.

I learned alot by watching all of your Videos but I have reached the same point where I will not waste any more time or money. White Knights for Little White Mouse is all I see. Both sides are overreacting from the current situation. I like the fact the Missouri will still be difficult to obtain as an old school player who obtained it in the past. Random containers for the prize is not ideal and should receive backlash. No reason for a Chernobyl meltdown.

Good for you and good for you all. I was a supporter of Wargaming from early WoT beta and WoWs cbt. They earned thousands of my money over time when they used to care about all the players, be them normal or CC's. The carrier rework amongst other things in this game and WoT had me walk away and never come back unless i had to log in and log out for some free giveaway. I don't want to say i saw the writing on the wall way back then, but at least i got out before they got more out of me.

wow has been screwing its player base for a year or more now so all can say is its about time people are doing more than just complaining - i stopped playing well over 6 mths ago even though i have over 350 ships and spent lots of dollars on the game until they started screwing us over and over again - so i stopped playing - if more people did this then wow will change - if you all just keep complaining nothing will change

Who here remembers the PR disaster? It's difficult to keep track of WG's unethical and illegal practices. They are so numerous.! And yet the playerbase endorses these practices by giving them money.

Lesta does it, EA'S been doing it for decades, Activision as well. Ubisoft are better these days, but they used to be just as scummy as EA.
