I’ve lost count of how many bands I’ve seen over the years. I’ve seen Godsmack live multiple times, and they’re hands down the best live band touring.
I love Sully ❤️. He is so right. Godsmack had so so many amazing songs in their catalog they can tour for years to come.
Godmask is my favorite band of all time. I live in south dakota. They came for acoustic album. Best concert I ever been to. They so amazing live.
great interview.. i feel kinda sad because they decided to stop puting out new material.. but i am glad they will keep performing live .. and maybee.. just maybe.. 10 years from now, they will have some new cool songs under their belt and they will release a surprise record haha !! focking love sully ! what a guy man

21 years since last visit. Wow if I go to Camden at Halloween it'll be my first ever. Better late than never. I heard the previous live performances here on RUclips. Definitely thirsty for the experience.

I kinda get what he's saying....fans wanna hear the hits....but. Every album they make has those type of classic hits. Just seen them last weekend and they rocked everything old and new. One of the best bands period. One of the few that have never made a letdown album. Their trajectory has always been up, and starting off as great as they did, pretty hard to do what they've done. Great interview. 🤘🤘
Just saw Godsmack in Vegas on Sept 30th 2022. I've seen Godsmack many times & this by far was the best. Last album but they are touring next year (2023) If you haven't had a chance to see them live go🤘

May be maybe not. I heard the music. It definitely feels final to Sully. He was more concerned about his family and his band and thanking and apologizing for what the last 25 years did to his life than anything else. He can't top his previous music and he doesn't want to. He said it himself. People want to hear Whatever, Awake, Serenity, Voodoo. I stand alone. They will also love 1000 horsepower, Crying like a bitch, legends rise, unforgettable, and so many others so why waste more precious years away from family and friends trying to outdo your brand. Doesn't make sense. He's happy. He thought 3 years ago he could keep writing more albums but he realized it's not a good idea and he has more things he needs to do than touring like be a dad to Skylar.
We have to wait 4 more months?!! Man I guess imma just continue to replay surrender and all the other cds!!!

Godsmack ..A leaguers, look forward to the new album. Of course this is getting attention for all of the wrong reasons as people misunderstand the comment about this new album being potentially their last
I understand his point. Honestly I grew up listening to Godsmack so this will be sad. Like sully said though all their work is still there and you can still listen to them. He could stop for a year. The. Realize he hates it and goes back. Vinny did that at one point. I just wish the band all the luck they could have. This also allows some newer bands to come up and show what they can do as well. Rock changes about every 30 years and it's honestly never for worse. Rock music always evolves into something better. That's why I been a huge rock fan ally life and listen to nothing but rock music.

I love the newest album. Not on the first playthru I didnt but now I love it.
Rather have new music than no new music at all because even if he says this albums will be best one they heard thousands of band say that and in reality it does even come close to albums that made them popular mindset should be to not top the old albums should add something new to discography honest think last good full album was 1000hp I can understand taking a break of writing shouldn’t say no new music like come on

Their last record, aside from the commercial success, was a huge let down for me. Seems like this one looks like a Side-B of the previous one. Even they recruited Eric Ron to produce. I better keep thinking that Godsmack disbanded after releasing of 1000hp.
Their last real record for me was Faceless. After that, they lost their aggressive side and started getting softer. Sully lost that gravelly tone, that really low growl and the angry midrange. I guess it was hurting his voice to sing that way.
@@PhillipAntoneOMara Indeed but at least he can do that in studio. He is the one behind this style and sound since When Legends Rise not because of his voice downfall and the main reason. In terms of their last heaviness album, although I know Faceless was brutal, however I think I won't be wrong if I say IV and Oracle were heavy enough that hardcore fans could easy enjoy. 1000hp on the other hand was cursory and wasn't really well-constructed comparing to previous records. So I better edit my first comment that Godsmack should have been disbanded after The Oracle.

@@glenwolsky5509 I worked stage crew one time in my life and it was for godsmack. None of them were nice at all. Especially Sully. He was mad about everything and trying to kick holes in the stage
With all due respect I believe Sully is far too creative to stop putting out new music. In time something will drive him to create. However the grind won’t be an issue it will all be in their terms.
Those are some dumb glasses sully. Ha
