My dad has dementia and Alzheimers ….. This song was his favourite in the 70’s!! He loved it so much he accidentally bought it twice. Probably why it went to No.1…. Every time I hear it, it makes me sad, as he’s not that strong dad that I always looked up to. He’s still alive. And when I play this (or any Bobby Darin song) his toes tap!!! It’s the power of music ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎶
I sang with them onstage and the lineup was Valerie, Freddie and Tabitha. They were amazing and beautiful and it was one of the greatest thrills of my life to be a Degree for just a moment.
My childhood was filled by these ladies , my parents loved them...they gave a fantastic grounding of music to us all , stylistics , rock and roll , broad spectrum...thankyou to my amazing mum and dad 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 xxxxx
I just love how record execs scoured urban cities to find American treasures like these girls throughout the sixties and seventies. We are forever indebted.
Fayette, Sheila, and Valarie are FIRE!!! all 3 of these ladies are strikingly gorgeous Outstanding singers and elegant stage charm and commanding presents. They are golden!!!
OK, now I know big brother is watching. My Granddaughter dragged out my record player and my stash of 45s 2 weeks ago. Guess which song she played? I think this was the side B to "When will I see you again" and I'd never played it before, but she played it a few times. Scary that this just came up in my recommended videos.
Great Song that may have underlying applicable biblical principals which can help others. God wants us to succeed. Make a decision. Join his army. Jesus died to set us free. The arrangement and vocals are fantastic. God Bless You All
The Three Degrees were stunning, special and superb and I mean that. Man these sisters are so classical. Sheila Ferguson, Val Holiday and Fay Pinkney were just sexy too. RIP, Fay Pinkney
ohh my goodness...fantastics intro these is why i love the three degree all the girls can sing they are beautiful and classy.i love itttttt.when will i see you again on stage.
We are all loving your postings of the wonderful and talented Three Degrees! Please keep them coming - I am looking forward to seeing their performances on Top Pop of "Take Good Care of Yourself" in 1975 and "Toast of Love" in 1976 which we in the UK have not yet seen - could we have those soon please! Thank you very much indeed... dank je wel! ;-)
These are three beautiful black women, boy, I tell you…and Sheila and Valerie still look good today! God continue to rest Fayette’s soul, because without her keen ear for harmonies and singing first soprano, we wouldn’t have hits like this joint here!
Yes this is the year To make your decision You gotta get it together Yes this is the year To open up your mind If you've been holding back kind of slack, yeah Now's the time to get the things you need There ain't no reason why you should be shy People have died to set you free Oh we need every one to succeed Everybody to succeed, we need everybody We're just like soul isn't enough Hey come on and join us please Come on, come on and join us please Yes this is the year, come on To make your decision You gotta get it together Yes this is the year, come on To open up your mind If you're strong out on a Jones, yeah You better make sure that you leave the bad stuff alone Whatever you wanna do think it over good 'Cause the choice is up to you Oh we need every one to succeed Everybody to succeed, we need everybody We're just like soul isn't enough Hey come on and join us please Come on, come on and join us please Yes this is the year, come on To make your decision You gotta get it together Yes this is the year, come on To open up your mind Yes this is the year, come on To make your decision You gotta get it together Yes this is the year, come on To open up your mind Open up, open up your mind Yes this is the year, come on To make your decision You gotta get it together Yes this is the year, come on To open up your mind Open up, open up your mind
Dirty Old Man just missed out on breaking the UK Top 50 but Year Of Decision, the follow up, broke into the UK Top 20. Their next hit, When Will I See You Again would reach No1 on the UK chart in late summer 1974- only the 2nd time a girl group reached No1 on the UK Singles chart, the first being the Supremes 10 years earlier with Baby Love in 1964.
The 3 Degrees were fantastic. The toured the UK regularly with MFSB as a backing group. Seeing them live in a small intimate venue was fantastic. They were Prince Charles (Now King Charles III) favourite group. I wonder if they messaged him when he ascended to our throne?

Wonderful song, I am just a little younger than Prince Charles, I really fancied all three of these in my youth and received the current album on my birthday............Prince Charles HAD THEM AT HIS PARTY. Life can be very unfair
This kind of music they don't make anymore 😢❤❤
What more can you say about this group , they were simply stunning ... and this song is brilliant.
Yes,yes,yes!
King Charles of England loved this group , they were his favours back in the day 👍🏻

Disco just starting....a very good song!
Fantastic pop record
The Supremes have always been my favourite girl group but The Three Degrees are right up there in my book. This lineup was the best in my opinion.
Great memories.
More Three Degrees 😍😍😍
Yes, and less Cardi B's. These ladies were the real deal 🙂
1974....the year of decision.
Sheila Ferguson. At 14 she was the best female by a mile on the totp. 50 years later my opinion hasn't changed.
OH MY GOD, 3 FANTASTIC STUNNERS 💋💋💋❤❤❤
Great Song that may have underlying applicable biblical principals which can help others. God wants us to succeed. Make a decision. Join his army. Jesus died to set us free. The arrangement and vocals are fantastic. God Bless You All

More like biracial
Why does colour always have to be mentioned ?! They’re three beautiful women .
Yes this is the year
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year
To open up your mind
If you've been holding back kind of slack, yeah
Now's the time to get the things you need
There ain't no reason why you should be shy
People have died to set you free
Oh we need every one to succeed
Everybody to succeed, we need everybody
We're just like soul isn't enough
Hey come on and join us please
Come on, come on and join us please
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
If you're strong out on a Jones, yeah
You better make sure that you leave the bad stuff alone
Whatever you wanna do think it over good
'Cause the choice is up to you
Oh we need every one to succeed
Everybody to succeed, we need everybody
We're just like soul isn't enough
Hey come on and join us please
Come on, come on and join us please
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
Open up, open up your mind
Yes this is the year, come on
To make your decision
You gotta get it together
Yes this is the year, come on
To open up your mind
Open up, open up your mind
Thanks
