Rowlf has been my favorite Muppet since I first saw him. Thank you so much for posting this-it is pretty much The Muppets Greatest Hits by one of the best recognized voices.

I watched The Jimmy Dean Show while growing up, and Rowlf was one of my favorite parts. I followed his whole career since. He and Animal are my favorite Muppets. I have plushies of them on my bookcase watching over me while I am in bed.

Rowlf singing Newyork state of mind is one of my new favourite songs
That last song hits me hard. Reminds me of my first dog, who passed away last summer.
And that song just about sums up how my dog was as well. The sweetest loving soul you could ever imagine.
I miss him every single day. And one day, when I get to where he is, I know he'll come running into my arms and we'll be together once more.

I wonder how hard it was for Jim to sing Bein' Green in Rowlf's voice
He was a master at switching between his characters on the fly. There's an old late show interview where he casually has a three way conversation between himself, Kermit, and the host. (It's particularly fun, since he keeps Kermit "alive" even when he's talking as himself, and even has him interject in indignation when Jim is explaining how he made the first Kermit out of his mothers old coat and pingpong balls.)
It's so weird hearing Jim singing Being Green in Rowlf's voice.
When i have a hard day or hard time falling asleep i listen to this and its like a lullaby a swear😭😭 rowlf is my fave muppet and always will be!

Thank you for uploading this wonderful album. As always, Rowlf's songs (and his covers of others' songs) have been both uplifting and thought-provoking. Like the song says, "I'm strolling down Memory Lane without a ding dong thing on my mind." I'm currently in a point of confusion where all I can think of is "Cottleston Pie", because "it's not easy bein' green." Mostly, I'm starting to "wish I was anyone but me", and had the "coat of silk" and "house of stone", but I'm realizing that "I'm happy to be me", and that I've at least got the "sky" and the "sea".
Once again, thank you.

I have looked for this for decades!
You & I & George, I never Harmed an Onion, When, Eight Little Notes All the just over 2 minute in length songs that were on The Muppet Show were originally done to fill time for the United Kingdom & Canadian broadcasts of the series.
Due to the American Commercial Placement times Canada & the UK had just under 3 minutes of space which needed to be filled. So they created these fillers
The American audiences never saw them until the show went into reruns.
Thought my mom had threw out all of our old Muppet cds for years. Just a week ago, almost 30 years later, she found them while cleaning, this one included. Loved them, and plan on listening to them again😊

No problem! He was one of the most imaginative men I know of. If you need further proof of that, watch some of his live action surrealist stuff like "The Cube" or "Time Piece."

Had this been released when Henson was still alive, it would've revitalized Rowlf's career and status. It would've reminded the public that Rowlf was just as nationally famous and talented as Kermit- and still is!

How many of them do you know i know quite a few.
I Like Singing With Rowlf
Really great album on Rowlf. Only problem is that they didn't think of including "I Hope That Something Better Comes Along".
While I agree there's a severe lack of it, as it's one of the best Muppet tracks. But, the problem is that "Something Better" is a Duet. Voice B (Kermit) plays off Voice A's bits (new leash on life, the pitter patter of tadpoles).
Whereas "Ol' Brown Ears" is a "solo" album. If Rowlf did it, he'd be correcting himself as he goes along and I think it would lose some of the charm.
Barretta's Rowlf is really close. Yes, I know this is Henson, BUT I've been listening to Christmas Party Sing Along this Xmas season, which is sung by Barretta as Rowlf. So when I launched into this, it took me a moment to work out which it was, until I read your description.
Bill Barretta does do a wonderful job with Rowlf. The transition between Jim and himself was seamless.

No, that's totally valid. I don't think Dave Goelz had quite settled into the current voice of Gonzo yet, so he still was doing the the scratchy voice he had in the first few seasons of the Muppet show.
