Jack reminds me of some of the teachers and instructors you got years ago, you never got anything explained twice, they weren't trying to be your friend, they didn't care if you liked them, there was no such thing as excuses, no small talk, you always listened because everything they said was worth hearing and they always knew their stuff.
Stew B If that were true there wouldn't be schools & colleges (though if you have the self discipline you can do a degree on line now) or courses or training.
Stew B Yeah, shouldn't think it will be long until the whole experience is virtual (except lunch) and you're looking at holograms instead of a screen. No, college is dating till the last year then it's total panic as you try to get your life together and realise how much debt you're in !!!!!
Jack was a man of many skills, always something to learn from him. I love this part of Australia around Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Streaky Bay and Ceduna. Somewhat underrated IMO, without the hordes of tourists like the Great Ocean Road!
Jack, Les Hiddins, and Lofty Wiseman have been inspirations to me since I was a kid. Was very sad to hear of Jack's passing, when these men are gone I will have no living heroes. They literally don't make em like that anymore.
39:03 restore that building ! Good to see something from South Australia . That part of the country has something very different on offer. Some aspects of the scenery reminds me of my own country of Denmark
My Uncle was the mine manager at Iron Knob in 1963. Went and stayed with him and his wife a few times when I was a little kid. Showed me the hole in the roof from a rock when they were blasting. 😆 Chopping chooks heads off on a block of wood and plucking them for dinner. Gee I miss those days. RIP Jack 👍
Love these shows... so entertaining and relaxing. Would love to see someone relive his travels today to see how the places he visited have changed.. RIP Jack the 'Legend' Absalom
Man I would love to see Jack going to a modern 4x4 or camping super store and show him all the new whiz bang things we have now.. Solar, showers, tents, etc..

Gee, dad hated Chrysler! lol, he'd be turning in his grave right now. He always said it's a good car. It's a Mitsubishi!.... (i think Mitsubishi took over at some point). :) Jack is an absolute legend!!!! RIP Jack, you will always be in my memory......

That's a bit dramatic. I've played with mercury as a child when thermometers still had it inside. It's really neat stuff I had so much fun, I looked for the stuff in the future so I could experiment a bit more since I was a bit more grown.
@16:10 Yup, let's bring the steel industry back to Whyalla, South Australia. Australian quality ore. AUSTRALIAN QUALITY STEEL!!! Bring back manufacturing back on our own soil and create employment!. This will finish the CCP :D I mean, they don't need our coal, barley, wheat, wine, beef, etc, so I guess they don't need our ore either!....LOL (I'd reckon most would agree, but there's always the odd one that doesn't) ;) Cheers!

Plates covered in mercury, that's safe :) Only if your wearing a full Hazmat suit.
That's a bit dramatic. I've played with mercury as a child when thermometers still had it inside. It's really neat stuff I had so much fun, I looked for the stuff in the future so I could experiment a bit more since I was a bit more grown.
I've played with mercury too, and my father ran the Meekatharra Battery 1980-81.
