Stunning views. Thanks so much for taking us along. It boggles my mind sometimes that people see those sights every day and they become routine for them. I feel like I'd sit on that balcony staring at the architecture for hours and hours.
Attitude or gratitude! I love that!!! Oh this video brought back memories!! I love Paris and I can’t wait to back again. We are hoping for a direct from Denver someday but don’t know if that will ever happen. And the cafes!!! So much fun and the salads there are amazing. Just sitting in a cafe on a corner in Paris and taking it all in, I just want to be there!! I’m so happy you are having a wonderful time and isn’t it better when the weather is a little cooler. I could walk Paris alllllll day. Blessings!🥰
Thanks Lin! I was thinking the train could be cancelled and we would have to figure out hotels etc so gratitude all the way! I didn't get to the Dior flagship, stupid sciatica. I think hubby is taking me back next year so I can hopefully really enjoy. Loved all the cafes and had a wonderful time in spite of my back. I want to be able to walk all day again. :) Blessings to you!
So excited for you to finally be there, and thanks for showing us the views. We just got back from 2.5 weeks in Ireland. Stayed in 5 hotels and a castle, and none of them had a top sheet. Ha 😊
I'm glad you had a nice time Paris. The cafes are wonderful. I always bring my Longxhamps Le Pliage. Lightweight and protects my contents. I usually travel with a Bottega Veneta Nodini bag. It's lightweight, no logos and although it is no longer being made, sales associates always recognize the Intrecciato leather. If it rains, it easily fits into the Longchamps tote. Can't wait for the unboxings!
Melinda, 100% European here, you’re correct, we do not use a top sheet. That’s very American I would say. I almost feel trapped if there is one! Haha jokes aside, hope you enjoyed Paris. I’m Swedish so you might find it even more odd that we use separate duvets in Sweden. One for each person😂 it’s great for sleeping in peace and not have your partner steal it in the middle of the night! (This doesn’t go for everyone though). My husband of 15years now love that we have separate, because I’m the thief in the middle of the night🙈
We had a great time thanks. That’s very interesting! I have down comforters with duvets on all my beds and find them so difficult to wash and iron and put back on. I get accused of stealing the covers😂
I am living vicariously through you! This is absolutely fabulous…. I think we Americans may be some of the few that use a top and bottom sheet…. It seems to me duvets and comforters must wear out so much faster abroad 🤷🏻♀️
It’s just what we are used to: regularly fighting with the duvet cover 😂. I’ve never considered any other way of sleeping. I’d feel restricted by a top sheet under my duvet cover.
It’s so nice to not feel pressure to get an appointment. I think Chanel have out-priced themselves for so many of us. That said, the 24k season shearling flap is so stunning (but so expensive too)! Excited to see what you ended up getting for yourself and your girls! ♥️♥️♥️

Best wishes always Melinda 💕💕
I think I stayed at that same hotel and possibly the same room when in Paris about 6 years ago! And funny we stayed at the hotel in London where you ate dinner. Your videos really make me want to go back!
Hi Melinda. No, we don't have a top sheet as you have in US. This is exactly how we do our bedding in Europe. Back in the day, we used to do that but not any more. Hope you still will have a good sleep 😊😅
Your hotel room was large for Paris; the view was divine! French hotel rooms don't always have top sheets; they frequently use duvet covers but not always. My hubby & I have always chuckled because French people get chilled very easily ~ thus the duvet in the summertime. So happy you enjoyed your time there! Did you notice how clean the buildings were? The city was clean up for the Olympics. Next time you return to Paris, why not take one of the food tours? We did one this year and absolutely loved it!
It was much larger than the room we had the last time and the balcony was just divine! Yes in both London and Paris I saw people in puffer parkas and a cashmere hoodie was fine for me lol. I am such a picky eater a food tour would not be fun for me. My sister did one in Spain and Rome and loved it!
My country was under UK colonial rule and we do not use top sheets 😅 we use blankets when the aircon is chilly. The duvet is used too but mostly for decoration 😂. Loving your vlog and remembering my many trips to Paris. ❤ Have a blessed holiday 🎉🎉🎉
I am so glad you had a great holiday. In Australia we use top sheets too. It seems rather unsanitary and gross not to have one. Like you our sheet sets have a top and bottom sheet and two pillowcases.
I only use my doona, or douvet I think they call them in Europe, as decoration. It’s too hot to sleep under and it’s a huge pain to wash. Just putting the cover back on is my workout for the day.
Great vlog. I was there in May and had a lovely time. Because of the pandemic we had not travelled abroad. Did you go to any of the museums? We always take a guided tour and get so much out of them. Giverny is also spectacular! Next time we go we want to spend time in the countryside.
Oh my, I'm so happy the weather worked out with your packing. Wonderful Vlog, and I loved seeing all the sites, sitting outside eating Truffle Fries & listening to Casey and the Sunshine Band... Fun Combo! 🥰 The LV Chest would look perfect in your home. Besides great food, drinks & relaxation, I hope you got everything you went there for. Thanks for bringing us along and sharing the fun with us. I certainly enjoyed myself. 🧡✨️ p.s. I don't know if you used one, my apologies if you do, but if not, a mic/muff attachment or maybe a little muff might work to drown out the background noise when you record. Just a suggestion. 🥰 p.s.s. When you go back to Paris....the LV Hotel Pleeeeezzzzz!😁😘
We had the best time! So sorry the audio was annoying, it annoyed me too! Someone else suggested a microphone as well and I will for sure get one. Thanks for the suggestion! That hotel is going to be so beautiful. Thank you! Xoxo
Hi Melinda .. great vlog .. was there during the Olympics..in Europe, we do not have a top sheet with the duvet…beautiful view of theEiffel tower, arc de triomphe and I think the top of the Sacre Coeur. Can’t wait to see what you picked up.
Hi, I commented on your London vlog, yes, it's completely normal to have a duvet cover and not a top sheet in the UK and Europe. We take the duvet covers off and wash them like a top sheet so most people do that once a week. In the summer we might will use a top sheet with a lighter blanket or bedspread. We don't really have comforters like you have in America. ❤
Yes that is why I replied you answered the question on my next video as this one was already filmed. Very interesting and thanks again for telling me! Have a great weekend! Xoxo
When I moved from Europe to NYC in 1977, I went to every store in search of a duvet. Noone knew what it was, and I didn’t know what to do with a top sheet, since without the duvet the top of the blanket would get dirty 😂They only started selling duvet covers in US many years later. It could’ve been IKEA that introduced them in US. At home, I now use a top sheet, with a blanket in a duvet cover. Duvet covers are sold separately from the sheet sets.
Fascinating! I have always used a down comforter with a duvet my adult life. Never heard of one as a kid or teen. I couldn’t imagine taking it off and washing it weekly. It’s so hard to get on and off! Glad the USA has them now.
Hi Melinda Hope you are having a wonderful time in Europe. Indeed we don't use a topsheet as our down blanket is fully covered. Some do use an extra cover/ spread in wintertime. As my channel focusses on luxury amenities in the home (candles/ soaps...) i would love to know what are your favorites
I must’ve been in Paris about same time - paralympics were still on 😀 We stayed at the other side of Arc de Triomphe! Very close. We didn’t get Hermes leather appointment on line but walked in to the same store you went and they gave us one immediately 🤷♀️ Got a bag so very pleased. I bought a souvenir scarf at Chanel at rue Cambone (scarf has the address on it 😀) and was taken to the famous staircase for photos. Lovely experience
@@baileymorgan9923 I got Evelyn 29 in gold. It was my second choice after Constance, which sadly they didn’toffer(I already have Birkins, Kelly and a small Evelyn).
Hi Melinda I’m English and use a top sheet but we have to buy them individually. When you buy a bedding set for a double and Kingsize bed it’s 2 pillowcases and a quilt cover for the basic set. The next level up includes a bottom sheet normally and the higher end products like Dorma and brands above we buy everything separately which is super expensive. When you say “jelly do you mean jam or conserve as in UK jelly is a gelatinous desert “ Fabulous video it looks like you are having a wonderful time. 🩷
It is so interesting how we all do things different! I meant jelly, it is a bit of thinner spread than jam or conserve with no bits of fruit. Jam is thicker and conserve even thicker. I see why you would use it as dessert as it is very sweet. I don't remember if they called it jam at afternoon tea because all I could think was how heavenly the clotted cream was! I wonder what they think of it in France as they served it at breakfast like the USA. Thank you, we had fun! :)
Stunning views. Thanks so much for taking us along. It boggles my mind sometimes that people see those sights every day and they become routine for them. I feel like I'd sit on that balcony staring at the architecture for hours and hours.
PS I only sleep with a top sheet in summertime, but I do remember them being kind of rare in Europe last time we were there (5 years ago now).
The view was amazing! I am hot or cold all year so I need a top sheet just in case :)
Melinda, you are a fantastic influencer! I have been with you since 2016. You must remember how fantastic an influencer that you are.❤
Awe you just made my day! Thank you so very much! Xoxo
I enjoyed your blog so much. It looks so beautiful. A girl could dream.
Thank you so much!
