I sold my 2010 Audi A5 Convertible with 265k miles, and the car is still going strong from what the new owner said. German cars require more maintenance (belts, chains, tensioners, 3-5k mile oil changes, new suspension bushings) but if you can turn a wrench and download a service manual, or watch a you tube video and DIY the repairs, you can save $$$$ over a dealership, or euro independent mechanic.
If I was told that I must buy a new MERCEDES BENZ product and money was no object, I would opt for the S500 series. Don’t care which engine it has but I like big sedans.
I was offered a Mercedes SUV didn’t take the test drive sent my wife and daughter out and stayed in and did some research on that particular model from owners, result was I bought a RAV4, the Mercedes drove lovely and had no problems but I was thinking more long term and still love the little maintenance of the Toyota
I don't really have to worry about repairing or maintaining a Mercedes, Audi, or BMW because I know I'll never own one. For me I have a simple rule - if it says "Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep" (WK Grand Cherokee onward), or "Fiat 500" I will just keep walking. I guess you could throw in anything with the GM 3.6 in that too. I've got experience with Chrysler stuff and I've learned my lesson.
I noticed on carfax selling a lot of renter cars from Florida. I was like what the heck probably flooded. They had a good price . I wouldn't touch them. My daughter is thinking she wants another car. So I thought i would look and see v what prices were from multiple scores. To see if she might be better off buying new. May God bless everyone 🙏
@@Krideezy I can get an SCT programmer for about $350 but it's only for Fords. I'd like to have something that'll program any vehicle without breaking the bank.
I doubt Scotty would reply to this, but I'll bet many here are up to the task of answering a question for me. What small SUV would you purchase if you wanted to stay under $15K. Only requirement is minimum of 5 passenger capacity. Looking for reliability and low maintenance cost.
Underrated but loved by their owners is the Geo Tracker / Chevrolet Sprint ! If you can find a nice example that is not from Michigan , or States like her , States that spread tons of salts to the roads ... Killing most 4 wheel drive Geo's , an awesome 4 wheel drive , easy as heck to repair , parts available , new and used , inexpensive and in great shape down South and West , but hard to come by up here in the Great Lakes .
We now have 2 convertibles. I liked driving my wife's so much, I bought myself one. LOL I fix everything myself. So I save a lot of money. All though, I need to figure out how to fix my wife's convertible top so it opens. The Autel scan tool gives me 3 codes, but when I manually operate it, all the switches it says are a problem, each one shows when it's opened and closed. IDK I have to figure that one out. Those transmission problems may just be from people not changing the filter and fluid at the proper intervals? That one is older than mine. I have the 2008. It has a larger display. I like how it tells you exactly which light bulb is out. Thousands on the suspension? I only spent about $600 on all new control arms, shocks/struts, motor mounts, tranny filter and fluid. And I do my own work.
I bought a sexy little salvaged Kia Forte Coup and did what the other driver didn't do: totaled it beyond ability to be salvaged. Bad juju. And I was being stupid.
@@kennywhiddon1497 There is a good market for salvaged cars. Many times cars get salvaged just due to the cost of repair labor when they are perfectly fine and roadworthy. Cosmetic damage or bumper cover replacements are a big one. If someone keys your $5k Altima with a bunch of cuss words, and you submit a claim, it would be salvaged. The cost of a repaint is going to be more than the car is worth. You take the $5k payout because insurance is required to pay market value. Market value being what people are currently buying and selling them for, not what KBB says. There is a big difference. You buy it back from insurance for $1500, pay "a guy you know" $2k to put a stage 1 paint job on it, or put a wrap on it, and you have a car you can sell for $4k. You just made money.

Doesnt matter, Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust
A rushing water sound? Do you mean it sounds like there's water sloshing around? Have you checked your cabin air filters? Check any windows or door seals.

You buy a Mercedes Benz for the smooth ride. Why ride on low profile tires? That’s today’s conundrum.
Dumb kids
Because people think they look good.
My smoothest riding car has low profile tires not by choice. Chevy put 19s on it.

Aren’t conundrums a thing to have on your body when you have sex?
Obtaining insurance for a salvage titled vehicle is a nightmare. Expensive, even if you can find an underwriter.
I would just get liability insurance. Way cheaper.
Scotty mentioned the weakest point of the cars is the automatic, so only go with manual for a weekend toy.
What fuel is Scotty on?
Probably ethanol 😂
I think he uses a Geritol additive.
