I don’t think there’s another track that’s inspired me to sit an try to create music as much as this. Never been successful at getting something quite so spot on for a heist, nor spent so much time on something I’ve enjoyed doing so much, but also something almost no one will ever be interested or probably understand. But I have got endless peace from it
As an ex Marine 0331 very few movies give me the chills. This of course Black Hawk Down maybe Collateral, all for the weapon handling and sound design.
I just saw this movie for the first time yesterday. I will have to rewatch it to determine whether it is highly rewatchable. I will say, the robbery scene and following action reminded me of Christopher Nolan's style of directing and action making. Excellent score, fantastic action, a robbery unlike any I've seen. The most amazing part of the movie, in my humble opinion, was the relationship between Deniro, Kilmer, and how Pacino's character tied the entire movie together. Epic film making.
This track was used for TV news broadcast intro for quite some time in my country. Then i saw the movie, ah ok makes sense^^ One of my favourite movie.
It's very fascinating that within the few games that have a heist component, some opt to leitmotif this music to some degree. Gun Metal Grey's casing mode portion of the track in payday the heist has the same vibe as this and I recently noticed Party Alarm, used in Project Nexus at the start has the Payday the Heist like Leitmotif, which makes sense considering that it is used for the First Nevadean Matter Bank (hmmm sounds familiar to First world bank...) and the responding forces are PrivSec, presumably riffing on Payday 2's GenSec death-wish units, one of them being an abbreviation of Private Security and the other is of course an abbreviation of General Security, dating back to Payday: The Heist. It's just interesting but also saddening that games with heists don't use this track as a leitmotif.
Spooky Skeleton The begining is the fucking same, it's obvious the game has been inspired by this film, just look at Al Pacino's speech, pretty similar to the speech of one of the Payday characters when entering First World Bank.
Yeah pretty much the whole game is like a little tribute to HEAT, Point Break (Presidential Masks), Dark Knight, Green Bridge Robbery (Armored Vehicle Robbery from HEAT), Overkill Masks (Also Armored Vehicle Robbery), Obviously HEAT Street, etc.
LOL! I love this movie and this plays in my head every time I’m about to do something serious. The last time I walked up to the starting line at the NYC Marathon, for example, this was it!🤣
