I watched this for the first time as an adult and fell in love almost immediately. When I saw the effects, I turned to the person next to me and mentioned that they look so much like Ghostbusters. The people who made this knew what they were doing, it's so well put together, Kurt Russel was so willing to be a goofy sidekick instead of insisting on being a leading man (despite how the studio wanted to sell it). It all combined for such an amazing movie.
This was awesome! So happy this showed up in my feed! Side note: Zu: Warriors from the Magic Mountain is one of the greatest 80's era FUN chinese martial arts films (like the earlier Jackie Chan flicks, and it stars Samo Hung and Biao Yuen, so if you like those earlier titles - this won't disappoint), and probably one of the greatest of all time. Awesome fight choreography mixed with absolute hilarity. It's a must watch, no doubt.
Great and fun episode, as usual. Just like the movie discussed. Fun fact, in Portugal, where I'm from, when translated, the title "Big Trouble in Little China" goes something like "The Adventures of Jack Burton in the Claws of the Mandarin" 😅
Great podcast dudes. Big trouble is one of my fave films and i learned loads about it form u. also love ur comedy scheer. That downton abby sketch had me laughing for ages.
Great insights. Big Trouble in Little China is definitely like the plucky sidekick (Jack Burton) believes he is actually the hero of the story and we see it from his perspective.
Ha ha ha, there was that one person dwurring the advertisment for "MUBI" who didn't like movies but liked listening to podcasts was someone who survived long enough in life that grew up listening to the radio and then motion pictures were invented and is somehow an immortal vampire who loves radio programs....ha ha ha ha.
