  • Happy Leap Day 2029! Take a moment today to do something just for yourself... something you've been wanting to do, but just never had the time, or the chance, to get it done. Enjoy the day... it only comes once every four years.
We're looking back this year at the television season of fifty years ago - the 1973-74 television season... today, leap day February 29, 2024, we're taking a look back at the landmark television series The Flip Wilson.
The Flip Wilson Show debuted on NBC on September 17, 1970 and ran four very successful seasons until it came to a close on June 27, 1974. Mr. Wilson became a sensation in Hollywood, with a hit show, and hit phrases that we had developed over the years of doing stand-up comedy... 'What you see is what you get'; 'Don't fight the feeling'; 'My boyfriend Killer'; 'The devil made me do it.'
Flip Wilson had a long career back on the comedy circuit after his series came to a close in the mid 1970s, but came back to do a few specials and many television guest roles over the years. He passed away in 1998 at the semi-young age of just 64. May he rest in peace.
