Thank Y'all!!!
Cog Hill Farm & Homestead just letting you know that male goats get witherd not fixed.
Close, but Actually Rusty it's called wether not wither, and the actual act itself is called castration or neutering. Once they have been castrated, they are then referred to or called a wether goat. Thanks!
This was a fun site to learn from. Wanting to start a goat farm, and was undecided on what to get. But this channel helped me...thanks. Also, Tip lol. He is just too cute lol :)
THANKS 🙄 for giving my wife the gotta-geta-goat bug. At the end she said “See he told us to get a goat! Now we have to.” 🙄
You always need at least 2. They get anxiety and loud without others. Herd critters.
As a pet we had a billy goat. He was friends with our two large dog. The three of them ran free on 160 acres. We did not farm but had two horse and raised two Phillies. We had no knowledge of how to take care of Andy the goat but he lived a charmed life.
We just love our Nigerians.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aw, this is one of your best videos. I just adore how you guys raised Tip. They both are so cute. Your video edits & music...man you got talent! Thanks for making me smile and laugh this morning...I love goats!
😊 thank you so much Oneda Zinn !!!!
I just saw my very first introduction to your videos and LOVED it! Your easy-going style and every day language made it fun and informative at the same time. Thanks so much for teaching me about the goats and how to incorporate them into a homestead. (Up north we call a homestead a 'hobby farm'.) Clearly you love your life and are grateful for it. Your presentation was the best example of being contented just as God tells us we should be. Thanks for taking the time. I can't wait to see the rest of your videos! God Bless you, Jason!
Oh wow! Thank you so much for your kind compliment! I really do appreciate it very much!! Y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!-Jason
I'm really grateful for this video 🐐
😊 thanks Jennifer Cooper
The Nigerian Dwarf is the cutest nicest goat breed, best milk too.
We are picking up our first 2 goats tomorrow, Nigerian pygmy crosses, a male and female. we are so excited! like, you it started with chickens, a pig, and now our little comedians. doing some research about thier care and found your video. Thanks for sharing! I hope our little ones are as awesome as yours seem to be!
AWESOME guys!!!! So exciting!! Thanks Dianna Ray!!-Jason
My grandma just suprised me wit a goat for my 14th bday
AWESOME!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Its better if u have 2 or more, as they r herd animals and get depressed if they dont have a friend. So jealous tho hahah
My mom gave me 1 too. He was good. I name him yummy dinner.
@@lallorona6014 That sorta name has me scared as to what manner he was "good"
@@capra-cabra7146 lmao!! That's EXACTLY what I thought!! 😬😮😵
When New York went into quarantine- we couldn’t get just about anything for 2-3 months at the stores - they’re really just starting to come back into full swing.
New goats are awesome- love that you have a playground for them all. Brings back memories of the “goat lady” who lived in the middle of nowhere on the side of a mountain. She was awesome.
Gotta love that nugget!
Stay safe!
Now that we are slightly younger than God, slightly older than dirt, we started homesteading pretty much today. I am SOOOOO excited to get my nigerian dwarfgoats. Until then, I will love them vicariously through yours!
Hahahahaha! You're going to LOVE them! Thank y'all!!!-Jason
Thank you so much for the great advice. We are getting two babies this weekend and they are bottle fed.
We got our first pygmy goat yesterday. Starting a 5 acre retirement farm. My husband cannot wait to get started on "Carmel Frappe's" pen and house. Our grand-daughter started 4H this year and has brought the country boy back out in my husband. We have rabbits, chickens, ducks, and now a new goat. Thanks for sharing you knowledge with us.
BOOM!!! Awesome!!! And good for you!!! I know y'all are going to enjoy the heck out of it!!! Thanks again & y'all have a great weekend-Jason
I like the Nubian goat for their high butterfat milk, great for ice cream, yogurt, cheese, and butter. And their intelligent.
Aww just going through your old videos! Please more goat babies!
What a fun fun video! I just found your channel through this collab and I really look forward to checking out all your videos. Thanks for all your information!!
Thank you Whimsical WonderFarm !!!!
I just stumbled on your channel while researching for the goats we are getting next week. I just wanted to say I will be watching lots more of your videos and your property is BEAUTIFUL !
Heather Lynn Cool! How has it gone?
Wow! I can't believe that our goat produces milk. I grew up rearing these dwarf goats for my grandpa. After nearly 50 years of my life, I never knew they could produce milk for human consumption until I watched this video. The dwarf goat is native to Igbo tribe of Eastern Nigeria. Now, I am going back to goat farming because I love milk. Thanks for the video.
I cannot believe it either I am Igbo I grew up in a house full of goats we had up to 40 goats and other domestic animals, rabbits, pigeons chickens, a dog then turkeys etc We Igbo never ever know what we have. We are busy buying goats from the northern part of Nigeria
Yo, that intro was precious
Hey Jason, it's pretty cool when you talk to all the animals, and they talk back to you. They seem to understand what you're saying. 2- 11- 19. 11:59 pm.
The goats are so cute!
I've heard so much about Penny and this is the FIRST video I've seen both MaryCarl and Penny. I LOVE watching the older videos - GREAT FAMILY GREAT FARM!
I am so in love with my sweet baby goats. I never knew they would make such great pets. I would like to milk them someday and make soap. I am getting my third girl in three weeks. Melody, Maggie and Mimzy.
That is so awesome Marnie Daniel !! Thank you!-Jason
I have been home sick with the flu. But I found your site and have LOL'd several times. I love Peaches. Now am I the only one that noticed Miss Peaches in the background looking and checking out your smoke house? I do believe she just might start a protest against it....might have to tell her it is for Emma.... ssshhhhh. Don't tell Emma. Love the videos and what a great way to get a laugh when a person already feels awful. Thanks for making this flu bug a little bearable.
Oh No!!! I hope you feel better SOON!!!!!! Thank you, Jason :)
LOL!! I am crying at your goat on that trampoline. As always great video man!
Lol, he's a MESS!!
I started with LaManchas and Nubians. Sedate and all business. I am so used to getting 4 to 6 quarts a day from them, with easy faucets for milking, that I could not get used to Nigerians who were jumping on my shed roof, and getting in the neighbor's yard, and they were hard for me to milk with their tiny faucets. But I can see how much fun they are . All goats are wonderful, but the little ones are great for pets.
I love your videos! You do such good edits and good content! subscribed and liked! My family and me are going to get Nigerian Dwarf Goats in 4 months! I'm so happy!
Tip the goat seems really nice, and he listens to good.
Wow Jason...I cant believe a 6 year old video popped up in my feed. ❤❤❤❤
Look how cute those guys are❤❤
Dude Tip just made my day!!! :) thanks for sharing this!
lol thanks Erik Johnson
We trained our goats to dog tie outs and let them forage in the weeds....had to watch they didn't get hung up but it helped with the wild thorn bushes and poison ivy on the trees etc.
We are getting 3 goats today :) two girls and one fixed boy
I've been trying to binge watch your videos and I love them all but you are right chip is a crazy jumping. So hard a long time
Your goats just crack me up & make me smile! Luv your vids!!
😊 thanks Kerrie G.
I love seeing Tip! Thanks for all the great info.
:) Thanks The Dirt Cheap Homesteader !!!
Ilaria: "YES! We need that goat...or that trampoline" 😂 They are so stinkin cute! Thanks so much for doing this collab. Loved seeing your routine and setup! We TOTALLY need a chandelier for our goat house
LOL! 😂 and no thank you for asking me to be a part of it! Every goat house needs a chandelier
I LOVE Tip and Bootsie!!!!
😊 thank you Angel Rousse !!!
Binging on the Cog!
I like goats farming
OMG
LoVe ❤️ the chandelier!!!
Lol
Coolest homestead ever
Very nice project
Thank you!
Just got our first goats! We're introducing our channel to them over the next 6 videos/weeks :)
Boom...AWESOME!!!! I will have to check that out buddy!
The milk is so delicious and rich! I'm a believer! I prefer more than the raw cow milk we get from another local farm and now that she's drying off her cows, we at least have a small resource :) Keep up the great content!
Thanks Remote Tactical & you timed your goats perfectly!
Your jump cuts crack me up 😂
I got 2, came here for advice. Thanks
They are so little there. ❤
You always have the best background music :)
I am wanting a couple of Nigerian dwarf goats but don't have a clue on how to raise them. You made this sound so doable. I think I can do this! They are so cute!
New Sub! we miss our goats so much.
Thanks for subbing!!! Sorry about missing your goats though!
Love your video! Your goaties are great representatives for Nigerian Dwarfs! We got ours a few years ago for 4H projects for our 2 boys. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them - and yes they are all silly fools too! :O) We just started milking in November and you are right - their milk is absolutely wonderful...so sweet and so rich! We haven't bought milk or yogurt or other dairy products from the store since we started milking. We are milking 3 right now. Only problem we have is it is very hard to let go of those adorable babies.... :O)
AWESOME Osapa Chukma !!! I so can't wait to get milk from ours!!! And the babies are going to be an issue, especially with my daughter LOL! Thank you for sharing this!-Jason
Mike and Jeni made me do it and Peaches snorted!
Thank you
Your goats act like dogs😭 so cute!
I love the space you have for them! We only have a little over 2 acres and plan on getting some Nigerians next year 😁🐐
Awesome Ashley B !!!! You'll love them!! Thanks-Jason
Thank You so much for the kind words. I have been busy kidding some late kids. Warparty took a bit to get his act together. Plus this rain is really slowing me down getting grass cut and the garden harvested. Cucumbers up the yang if you need some... Tomatoes going crazy... Need to trim more of them. The American Breese Chickens went outside today and are doing great. Take Care and Love you All!
Tip's dehorn looks pretty decent from the videos and glad his Wether thing turned out well too. Hoping Deesse kids so I can send her to you for you all to try a milk goat. She went over height, but has easy to milk teats and milks real well. She has made her milk star and has a championship leg, but because she grew a bit to tall will never see another show ring and her milk records will not be accepted for the performance programs. But a real nice milk doe and her kids have done well, have to take care to breed her to a small buck.
Will let you know when she kids. Borrow goats are all good.
Just got a male with papers and two nannies with out. So here we go fence ,stiles. Milky stands in side barn lol. You know the drill
Awesome!!!!! 😊
Subscriber just because of your interlude music😄❤ I love u🎶
Great video! ❤️
👍Reliable Cadillac GMC
New subscriber here. I am so glad I found your channel. I am 1 year into growing veggies and plan on adding animals too once I get the proper fence up. My house is on about an acre and want to have quails, rabbits and I would love to have a couple of those goats too. Thanks for posting and I look forward to following your progress.
That is AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing!!! -Jason

Thanks for the great information may you enjoy
You're welcome & thank you!
Omg I love Tip!!!!
Well he is quite charming ;)
I do, too.
What a life. Very different. We had lots of goats at our house in india.
Thank you!
Great videos thumbs up and subscribed to you. I could sit here all night and watch your vids! We’re getting our first goat tomorrow and it’s a just weaned male pigmy Nigerian we are so excited. As are the grand kids. I want to learn about milking now. I may be asking you for some advice in the near future if you don’t mind. Keep up the good work. Thank you very much!
We'd love to jump in on this collab. Is it open to anyone?
Go over to Guildbrook Farm....It's their collab! Thanks for asking!!!-Jason
Cog Hill Farm & Homestead Thanks so much!
YW!
We love our two Nigerian Dwarfs too! We have two females that half sisters and about 18months old. One was bottle fed but not the other and it really does make a HUGE difference. When you do go to breed, do you plan to bring lil Boots to a male or have you thought about AI? The guy I bought 'em from had two mamas and one buck and he said if he could do it all over again he'd invest the $ he spent on the buck on taking a AI course and then just purchase new stock each breeding. I think I'm leaning that way myself.
I really love your style! Seriously! When can we come hang out!? You and Ryan would have me laughing nonstop! I love how you do what you do with what you have and make it work so well!!! We are very much that way too! xoxo
Thanks Rose!...that would be great when our schedules allow it! Or vice versa!
How is that milking situation working out for you? You could throw some branches or brush into their space for a glorious goat treat. Love you guys.
Goats are working out wonderfully! Have started milking yet, but hopefully soon :)
Hey Jason how big is the goats pen?
60 x 40
I love Tip hes adorable. Hows your corn doing down on the corner? Love the video, tyfs Pat
Thanks Pat Champion !!! Our corn is possibly the biggest I've ever seen it. All this nonstop rain has really made our corn look great, but now we just wait & see if it produces some great ears! Thanks again!!!
Wondefull keep us posted
We’re thinking of getting a couple of Nigerian Dwarf goats. Loved your video!
New subscriber to your channel. Enjoying your videos very much. Tip is great! When we have land we will be adding goats and chickens first thing! Thanks for sharing your homestead journey! :-) Gabby
Thank you so much Gardening With Gabby !!!
Now ya need another girl and she can be named Tiny! LOL
TFS God Bless ~Lisa
I am working on building a duck and goose project next year but Goats are my next live stock. Most likely next year. I want dairy goats though I never drink milk myself I love goat cheese and know how to make it.
Hey Tip. Lets talk about the Chandelier really!!!! lmbo
Hahahahahaha Keith West
right on
Fist bump
thanks
I Love this somuch!
Thank you!!! 😊
They are so darn cute. Building our homestead so still in planning/dreaming stage. Was thinking of one Nubian and one Nigerian dwarf..for different fat content.
I love both!!!!
Loooooooove this video.... so funny
😊Ann Vermilyea
You guys are very inspiring!! My wife and I have started our own McLendon Homestead and I have only done 2 videos so far but I WOULD LOVE so subscribers / feedback and support. Thank you guys for all you do!!
What are the measurements of your pin? I am building one now. How much hay and gain do you have to feed? I know when they are in a smaller pin you have to feed this more... Thanks
Do you use diatomaceous earth to help with parasites? I wonder if it's useful for them like it is for chicken raising. Sprinkle all over the area they live and then put a bit in their food to thwart internal parasites? I have a move in rooster and a co-worker told me they are the gateway drug to animal owning so I'm watcing your goat videos because while I don't have hens yet (waiting on finishing my coop before buying girlfriends for Colonel Sanders XD), I might already be addicted to the whole "homestead" idea of life. ;) My apologies if I spam your channel. Im' a brand new subscriber so I may end up with lots of questions. I understand if you can't respond too because soooo many subs! Congrats! What part of the southeast are you in? I'm in eastern NC with barely half an acre. I may need to rethink my decisions. LOL!!
So a 3 sided shelter is sufficient for goats? I really want to get some but we have no barn yet so wondering how much shelter is needed? We are a little further up from y'all down in AL though! 😉 Were up in the hills of East TN! So we do get the occasional snow and 6 degree weather!
Definitely.....3 sided is fine here, & I would think it would be fine there as well. If it got really cold, & you got worried, you could always throw a tarp on the front, but I'm thinking they would be fine....those suckers are from mountain regions, & should adapt. Thanks ! -Jason
Love the breed and looks like your loving the lifestyle. My question is do you HAVE to milk the goats and what happens if you don't and just want them as pets?
Flying Drummer don’t breed them
If I was you I would get to males that have been neutered
We are picking up our goats next Saturday!! 😳 video will be coming!
BOOOOM!!!!!!
Do you have troubles with predators? We live a rural mountainous area with mountain lions, coyotes, hawks. I would probably build a pen with fencing over the top as the mountain lions have been known to jump sheep, in a fenced pen, in the middle of the day.
My sis raises the larger goats but I’ve admired the small goats for some time. Thanks for the video!
None at all here really.....nothing that would jump the fence. I cannot imagine having mnt loins!!! 😳. Good luck guys!! And thank y’all !!-Jason
Lol great video
Love youre videos. I have a year old female goat named Nadine, she's so spoiled n acts like a dog lol. ❤️🐐
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
:D TIP!!!! Luv it
:) thanks Olivia S.
Great video I have one goat she thinks she is a mini donkey she was raised with them I sold all my goats a few yes ago an this one ran under the trailer when I sold the others lol I raise mini horses to but she only stays with the donkeys do funny lol
Awesome video sir. May I ask what camera are you using? The video and audio quality was great.
Use a Canon Vixia HF R62 camcorder & thanks!!!-Jason
Your goats look like my goats, so cute! # Them names Oreo and Fern :>
yes when you bottle feed you do get closer we just lost a male 5 week old he had issues since birth with kidneys and they had him on new meds but his kidneys failed and he passed away in his sleep in my arms since then we got another male for breeding with our liberty mae
I am so sorry for your loss !!
Cog Hill Farm -The Dancing Farmer thank you dear but i kinda figured he would not survive he had the kidney issues ever since he was born . but we got gunther now and im planning on breed them . we got the breed them to be able to get the milk
New sub - Love watching your channel. Refreshing to see such a close-knit farm family that treat their animals with great care. Give Peaches and Tip a pat from us here at Mitten Acres!
Do you still have only 2 goats? I really like watching them play.
Feta cheese is great, and goat milk is good for children who are sensitive to cow milk. Goat meat has less fat content than lamb meat so it’s meat don’t have the strong smell if the animal is mature.
TFS!!!
Nice video, been thinking of getting 2. One question though, what kind of fencing or how high of fencing should they have so they do not escape? Our neighbor has big dogs that are pretty aggressive and we have a busy street right in front of our property.
Thinking about getting goats, we have chickens, but we are not sure if we got enough room. But like you say, work with what you got.
Exactly cole Graf !!!! Good luck!-Jason
Love my goats !!!! I got 2 also mini Nubians
Where did you guys get your goats they’re so cute I am hopefully can I get some❤
