It honestly caught me off guard how many people were fixated on the 4x4 post when I posted the video showing how quickly the hose reel installs to a post, wall, etc. The post had zero to do with the post considering you don't have to have a post to mount the hose reel. I like mounting it to the post, but I have seen some creative people mount these to their house, their decks, their kids play sets, fence posts, etc. It also made me realize that people either don't know how to install a 4x4 post in the ground or are intimidated by it. So, I figured I would show how to do that.
The deeper you dig and install the post, the more sturdy it will be. I, however, have never had any issues with going just about 2' down in the ground. Add your quik crete, water it to make a cement mix and leave it to let set (make sure the post is straight up and down with a level of course!). Once its set, you are free to install your hose reel!

Funny! Gotta comment, though, for those of us who live in areas where the bedrock is right beneath the soil, "dig 2-3' deep" requires a jackhammer and a whole lotta patience. I literally can't sink a solar light post all the way into my soil (the soil is like 3 inches deep, then it's solid rock). I used to live in PA though, and digging was a helluva lot easier. :D

Love my hoselinks on posts! They fade into the background once plants are installed. So easy to reel and unreel! 😊

This gave me a good laugh today! I think it’s great that your family have 3 hoselinks… I’d love to have one for my backyard one day. They will definitely come in handy for all of your future yard projects! For the haters, if they haven’t already watched the 50,000+ videos on YT about setting a post, where have they been??? I’ll be here watching your channel and cheering you and your family on! Sorry, I don’t have anything negative to say 😂

I purchased a hose link because of you and have had it over a year now it is worth every penny. The build quality is where it really shows and it installs super easy onto a 4x4 I even capped mine with white fence vinyl.

Great job, although i am not a fan of dry pour, if done best to wait a couple of days to a week in dry areas as the concrete absorbs soil moisture to cure.

Hey, always love your content!. GREAT to see how well you're progressing after that achilles tendon accident!
I'd 110% install a Hoselink system, but my 2 water spickets are 1) over driveway/ tar. 2) over ground level backyard deck that I'm going to replace in a few years.

...I absolutely love mine and I got the tan version -- most people now are choosing the charcoal color since they have added that one to the line. Mine is mounted on a post that supports my patio roof. I got it last spring 2022 with Christmas money. This year I added the decorative cover and chose the light green fern. The only beef I have is keeping bees out of it. I have to keep double-checking up inside; they'll make a brand-new honeycomb in one day. I take a dandelion hand tool up in there to get rid of it. Eventually they quit. 🤷🏼‍♀️🐝🤬 👩🏼‍🌾💚 =^..^=
