Financial trauma is a very real thing. As someone who grew up with scarcity, fear of debt and the stock market, I've only started to confront this fear a few years ago with the help from those in my corner in educating me with proper knowledge and their personal experiences. Thank you to you both for addressing that and bringing it to light.
So cried watching this video. It’s so real and raw. It’s so crazy as women need to be finance literate. It’s so confronting but you need to face learning. Before women starting speaking out, we had to pick up the books written by men. Finance is now not a gender thing. Obsessed with videos. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I appreciate so much that she mentioned she had a safety net. There are so many creators/authors/actors, etc. that pretend they had nothing when they actually had a lot of financial security backing them. It's so much better to be honest and realistic.
Im a financer, by no means Vivians level - she is what all financers dreams to be, and I have friends that work in Finance, Economy or Administration..anything related. What do we talk most of the time? Money. And lets make it clear we are the working classes trying to live the dream. Everything she said is so down to earth. No one said it was gonna be easy, is nearly impossible but still achievable❤ Im definitely gonna buy her book 🎉
The most important thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks, Gold, silver and digital currencies
I do not disagree, there are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy or market condition, but such execution are usually carried out by investment experts with experience since the 08' crash.
Dealing across multiple asset classes can reduce risk more effectively than putting all of your money into one. If you don't understand finances properly, see a financial consultant.
My CFA ’ Julianne Iwersen Niemann ’ , a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
My two fav Asian girls on the internet together!!! As a fellow Asian child of immigrants, I’m so proud of what you both have created and achieved and the wisdom you’re teaching others!
Beautiful conversation. It’s always a pleasure to listen to women who have matured and done the inner work. I raised myself from the time I was 17, so I didn’t have anyone to teach me about money. Now as an adult, I teach it to my teen mentees to help set them up for success.
I love you both talked about the importance of mentorship….. it’s not easy for the generation now in this digital world. This video or even this podcast actually serve this for a lot of us. Not as personal but lots of wisdom and experience especially for the children from immigrants families. The struggles and dreams to make a change for their folks, the left out and under privilege in growing up. Bravo for share your stories here that we know we are not alone ❤
I love this collaboration! My 2 favorite Asian American RUclips females. I love how Vivian is so humble and admits that she and Michelle are in the top 1% and that there was luck involved.
Why am I always going into this videos with a negative mindset? The first few tips are already really useful. I took a 3rd job last month. I should set up automatic saving immediately when my first pay arrives. Let's go!
My favorite guess so far!! I’ve watched many Vivian’s interview on different platforms but this one was different it was touching, inspiring, and refreshing! ❤❤
Wow this was amazing! Vivian is full of wisdom ❤ I needed to hear a lot of these messages. Even for the points I already know… It’s nice to be reminded because I get so easily distracted or lose sight of what’s important.
As an early gen-z (born 2001) with seven older siblings, i rly love millennials, and i def take advice from y'all. Ofc i will contextualize it myself, but it won't fall on deaf ears : )
This was the most inspiring video I have seen for a long time. Strong inspiring women, not only about career and finance but just as a human being. ❤ love it
I've been looking forward to your podcast for a long time, so I was surprised by the recent video series. The insights on building wealth were outstanding, and I believe I can learn a lot from them.
Wow, idk how I came across your channel, but damn I needed this! I am stuck in life right now and this conversation made me feel like I was a fly on the wall to MILLION DOLLAR GAME! It definitely sparked something in me and makes me wanna rethink my own business and my relationship with money. Great video!!
I think the safest strategy is to diversify investments. Like spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. Especially since the stock market has been excellent lately.
Stock market is picking up pace right now no doubt but I think the importance of mitigating risks might be why many investors are turning to advisors for guidance.
Agreed, I've always delegated my excesses to an advisor, since suffering major portfolio loss early 2020, amid covid outbreak. I'm now semi-retired and only work 7.5 hours a week, with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments to date.
My CFA, Judith Lynn Staufer, is a renowned figure in her field. I recommend researching her name online; you’ll find all her credentials and everything you need to work with a reliable professional. With many years of experience, she is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I really needed it. I looked her up on Google and explored her website; she has an impressive background in investments. I've sent her an email, and I hope to hear back from her soon!

Great podcast, loved this whole conversation. I love to watch conversations with successful women in whatever industry and hear everything they have to say - especially in bro-dominated subjects like finance. I hope more is on the way!
My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have, making it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. My biggest advice is to always seek the services of a professional just like I did when I ventured into it for the first time. Big thanks to Larysa Caba. I now make huge profits by weekly through her services while still learning to stand on my own.
I think she trades for everyone I meet. I met her twice at a meeting in Germany and after her lectures from Ella I had to personally ask her to be my financial advisor. she is definitely good.
I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Larysa Caba with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I don't normally comment on videos, but this word should be included. she is really cool.
I am extremely excited to watch and listen to this episode (as I have been excited of all other episodes) but this episode especially I am looking forward to!!
This episode talks about a roadmap to build wealth. How many of you would be happy if you have the detailed notes of the podcast so that after listening this podcast you can have and read the important stuff in 10 mins anytime you want. Let me know your response.
Hi Michelle! Love these podcasts. Is there any chance for these podcasts to be on Spotify? I really enjoy listening to these during my commute but audio playing would be better for my data usage than video usage. Thank you for making these amazing podcasts.
the problem with the new gen and even some millenials isn't that they value their worth based on money or social clout, it's that they want to be famous and matter without any substance, talent or ability. The worst way to be rich is to be rich just because or just by talking about being rich and money. I didn't know vivian and as much as I appreciate some of her tips and knowledge she litterally embodies that kinda of new rich that is thinking her worth is because of her money that she didn't have growing up. Spending on pointless things isn't healthy but saving up to "build wealth" you'll never spend on LIVING is not healthy either.
Michelle, this was so incredibly helpful and inspiring. Can you also at some point cover the topic of finding "passions" that can become businesses? For people who want to do entrepreneurship, but don't know exactly what they can contribute and aren't really good at anything, where do we start? Is turning lifestyle content creation into a business enough? Or does it have to be a concrete "passion / hobby" (cooking, makeup, etc.)
These collabs just get better and better. Michelle Phan x Your Rich BFF is such a vibe.
💯

"when the student is ready, the teacher appears."
how have i never heard of this quote before...and yet it resonates in a multitude of ways. wow
I would love for Vivian to come again and converse with you. I really enjoy listening to you two talk and I'm learning a lot!

Literally just bought her book yesterday and I’m 80 pages in. Obsessed with Vivian 💗
Its a very good book.
I can't believe two of my favorite influencers/role models are together in one place!! 🤩🤩🤩

My thoughts exactly the entire time I watched this. Enjoying my 🍿 while watching this iteration of dumpster fire, though.
I love this collaboration so much
You’re doing amazing with these guest stars!!!
Please have a part 2 with her, maybe more about other topics apart from finance!! More abt other aspects of life
Michellleeee not to make you do more work but can we add time stamps for topics? It would help so much to go back and reference certain parts. ❤️❤️❤️
