I'm really going through it myself & it's really hard rn. To me I'm at the place like Tati said I have to make a choice it's now or never ,- came out of the hospital 4 weeks ago with a hard pneumonia & my Blood % level was at 4% so to be honnest I should not have been here today ,- now I got the pneumonia back again , but I'm still home & have made the desission I want to live , but it's a long go ... I waited way to long before I called the doctor ,- I'm so afraid of nidles , bloodwork & all that kinds of stuff so I put myself so hard down & my wight was running off like crazy in those 3 weeks so I went down to 79 pounds & I'm 175 cm high 🥵😭

I think in some ways her haters did darken her a tad. Everytime she got real constructive criticism from her viewers and got called out for certain things, she never owned up to the facts and then from then on she controlled her comment section hard. But you'd know this if you were a true fan from the beginning of her RUclips career and been there through all the years. I'm just saying, she created some of that darkness herself and sometimes humans need to own up to it and take partial blame.

I’m 7 minutes in. Usually hearing someone talk about how rough their 20s were doesn’t inspire me much. But I damn near cried hearing Tati talk about how rough life was for her.
At 15/16 yrs old, as a pill addict, I didn’t see myself making it to 18. Was involuntary admitted to the psych ward at 15. Moved away from home at 17.
Then 18 came & went. At 18, I didn’t see myself making it to 21.
Age 19 started 3 yrs of alcoholism. 21 came & went. From 19-22, people who caught on that I was a high-functioning alcoholic warned me I was gonna k*ll myself or someone else.
At 22, I got pregnant with my one & only. The day I found out, I decided it all had to stop. Against my OBs better wishes, I stopped drinking, instead of weening myself. Pills, aside from what was necessary, stopped. Smoking weed & whatever was given to me stopped. I took 3 wks to ween myself of smoking cigs, as to not send my body into complete & total shock.
At 23, I gave birth. Postpartum was rough, mentally.
At 28, I decided it was time for college. My son doesn’t deserve a life barely living paycheck to paycheck.
In June of this year, a month before my 29th bday, I moved us over 1300 miles to start over & I’m currently in my 4th term of college. Overall mentally, I’m doing much better. Some days are rough. But, I keep telling myself it HAS to get easier eventually.

Tati truly is the definition of picking yourself up and brushing it off. Her story really is quite inspiring, yes she started off struggling, but she really kept picking herself up to get where she is now. As someone who struggles with major depressive disorder, it's really motivating hearing someone else who struggled and got through it. It just demonstrates to me that we really can overcome our challenges. She shared and became, in a way a voice for us who struggle with mental illnesses, addictions, and such. Overcoming such things is definitely no easy feature. She's such a strong and wise person. ♡

I think a lot of people can relate to what Tati said about her dark moment.
Same crisis here, not overpartying nor overdosing, but isolating and falling in depression; same reasons, losing a job I believed in, a boyfriend who cheated on me.
Thinking in my thirties I was too old for change the trajectory of my life, but in the darkest moment I find somewhere in me the courage to do what I always want and always thought was a dream, challenging myself with my last money and strength, leaving for the country I always dreamed of.
Now looking back I’m impressed with myself for what I accomplished and how I change my life.
Not everyone has the fortune I had, the understanding and the support of my family, the fortune of finding a good job, the amazing people who help me navigate a new place, and an incredible man I could even dreamed about.
I’m glad I found and nourished that spark, because I know that it would have taken very little to make me stay in that dark place not facing an unknown path.
And I think Tati speaking of this can really help a lot of young people to find that strength.❤

This is so powerful; to see someone like Tati who I'm sure has felt the need to constantly look and feel perfect and "put together" tell their story. I have a similar one. Today I'm 36 and in recovery as well, but before that I was the perfectionist with the perfect life and job who drank pints of vodka in secret and no one knew, not even my husband. I now have 3 years, but I was in my addiction for a good 10 years, and tried and relapsed for a good 6 years while cycling through rehabs and outpatient care and therapy and medication before I finally got sober. And I'm still dealing with PTSD and depression every single day. But I'm both lucky and grateful to be here today, and it's through telling our stories that we help ourselves and others.

The combo we needed 😊😊 Michelles' videos were the first I ever watched on YT and Tati is someone I have so much respect for.. thank you for this. I'm at a pretty low place at the moment and this took my mind of that a little bit. And Tati being so open and honest and hearing how she turned her life around is just really motivational. Absolutely love this 😊❤️

53:10 I got goosebumps when Tati said about the beautiful feelings within us, she is right, we already have all we need and if we can detach from all the things that we think they will bring us "the feelings" that we need to feel and instead access and feel them without any other outside sources, that's power

She was so honest in this. Tati your palette was the first ever palette I bought from a RUclipsr. And Michelle you paved the way for a lot of Asian beauty influencers. These two ladies are gold tier!

I'm so glad this popped up in my feed. I literally woke up at 4:45am feeling soo depressed and alone, I cried until 6am. It's a dark place one can go to when life is not going anywhere good and new. So the fact this comes and Tati shares the 2 dark times in her life is very inspiring. I'm always amazed how God will give people everything but then the devil will seemingly take it all away. I lean on God too though lately I've been angry at him not just for myself but on behalf of oppressed peoples around the world suffering while the world stands by and watches 😢. It's strange, dark times we're in.
I do think it'd be fascinating to have other people who had a rise and fall and see what they've learned.

I was in love with makeup since I was able to hold a brush. when i discovered youtube both michelle and tati I fell in love with!!! throughout middle school and high school I watched all their videos. as time when i one i got addicted to drugs and stopped watching the makeup videos. my mom at the time knew something was happening because i wasn’t that into makeup, when i was 19 she sent me tatis it’s been 10 years video to remind me who i was. I’ve been sober since then and i just sent her this podcast because when i was 20 i got back into makeup and started again watching videos and i sent her this to remind her im me again. I didn’t think id cry but i am. I hope this story touched someone out there struggling!

I feel so much anxiety around it, but at the same time I know it is exactly what I want to do, to start writing my own narrative! And I'm also so excited. Hearing you two speak so openly about your journey really gave me the feeling of what a deep breath can feel like, thinking: yes Valerie, you got this! haha Much love! And I'm excited for the episodes to come!

You mentioned motherhood, you would be a great mom. Adopting is always an option ❤️
