Amla is acidic enough to cause dye release and is significantly less harsh and drying on the hair than lemon juice. It will also push henna from reddish orange to a russet or brownish red color. Add 3-4 TBS of amla powder per 100 grams of henna and just use plain water as your liquid. Amla also boosts curls and waves and volumizes. Lastly, it strengthens the hair follicles. It is much better for the hair compared to lemon juice.
Private Private probably that will work better for me then cause I have reddish brown hair.. Not black so I don't want to use indigo. But I don't want to get it orange either is alma safe for hair?
Yes it is safe for use on your hair. It is widely used on hair in India. Actually continued use of amla as as conditioner or amla oil will turn your hair black.
When i was younger we mixed henna with paraffin, put it on our nails, covered it with plastic overnight, the next morning our nails were permanently colored brownish-yellowish, add clear nail polish for shine. Good times. The 90s in kenya 😁🇰🇪

If you allow the indigo to oxidize and develop that purplish metallic sheen she pointed out BEFORE applying it, you'll lose most of the dye's ability to PERMANENTLY dye the hair. It will temporarily dye the hair black but you will notice that it starts washing out nearly immediately and a couple of weeks to three weeks later, it's gone. Mix indigo with room temp to warm water (not hot, never boiling) and apply IMMEDIATELY. It takes about 20 mins to oxidize (that purple metallic sheen) and you want that to happen AFTER it's already in your hair for the darkest, longest lasting color. Only mix as much indigo as you can apply in 20 mins. (I can apply 100 grams of indigo in 20 mins.) Apply it and then mix more if needed. I need approximately 450 g of indigo to cover my hair and so I mix five separate batches that I apply immediately after mixing.

Easiest way to save time is: 1. Mix henna with water and keep it for 45 minutes to 1 hour. 2. Then apply it to the hair and keep it for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Then wash the hair with only water. 3. Then mix indigo powder with water and apply to hair IMMEDIATELY (after mixing) and keep it for 1 hour. Then wash it with only water. Just tried this on my mom following this video step by step and it turned out amazing. I was impressed at how it covered all the white hair completely! Can anyone tell me WHEN she can wash her hair with shampoo?
A lot of hair stylists in the U.S say that henna is bad for the hair. Henna dye contains metals in it. It dries out the hair and you cannot dye your hair with any other brand of hair dye. Doing so can cause hair breakage. I used henna for a short minute. It also turns the hair a brassy brown silver color after so many washes. I eventually let it grow out and got rid of the henna by trimming my ends and my hair grew out.
100% pure henna is safe to use but not the henna haircolors or henna shampoos. Pure henna might make the hair dry if it’s used quite often, but that’s not an issue if you apply hair oils once it a while. And about the dyeing hair that’s true. You can’t dye your hair with haircolor if you have applied henna recently as it can cause chemical reaction. But all in all natural henna is not harmful for hair, I’ve been using it for years and it’s totally safe😊
Ruby Tuesday Actually, EVERY hair gets white, not gray. The white is caused by a lack of colour, it only appears gray because there are hairs with colour in them and white hairs mixed, overall that mixture appears grayish.
Great natural hair dye and a highly enjoyable video to watch. I loved the way the lady's hair stretched and relaxed in response to both the henna and the indigo :) An inspring video, young PO. Thank you.
I’ve been doing the two step henna/indigo hair coloring method for gray hair for five years......Since I have very little gray only place it in the front of my hair....works beautifully.

I have been using henna for several years now and it works fantastic HOWEVER ,I notice each time I would get a headache but I thought it was from having the plastic wrap on too tight or from sleeping wrong ....Anyways, since i only use it about twice a year i just dismissed it until YESTERDAY, ....I dyed my hair with the henna and kept it on for 4 hours and I got the worse headache I have in my life....So i will never use it again...This is a great product for those who are not allergic to it...
only comment i have is that every one should do a strand test before doing the total procedure i found out that I'm allergic to henna after i used it this was prior to seeing your video looks like you did a great job
sorry to here dear Thanks for letting as Know. I did put instructions on how to do an allergy test in the description on the day i share the video and also advice to do a strand test so please everyone check the description there are some useful info there.
Ok first for those who are doubting, let me tell you that this works, why? Because my aunt and uncle use the hena to cover their white hair and just with that their hair looks amazing,it all depends on how white the hair is,theirs are more like gray so their hair looks like they did some kind of light brown highlights 👌 and even if they don't use the indigo,I have seen people who did and it worked for them, but nevertheless this isn't permanent, you have to keep doing it just like you do when you dye your hair, although there's no chemicals in this option, but once again this is NOT permanent😔 once your hair grows bye bye black hair😅😣😧 I guess what really helps is to eat lots antioxidant food, that should keep not only your hair looking better but your entire body😉 but you can try this it really does work...for a while😅
Thank you for your input it covered my question as to how long this dye last. I love that it has no chemicals and the work it will require it worth the results I see in the video!! Thanks again,🙏
It's possible, indigo over henna would die your hair well, henna on its own is a natural permanent dye, but its better to mix our henna with room temperature water instead of lemon because lemon is a super hair bleacher.
@@abundance6560 That all depends on how fast your hair grows, on average 3 - 4 weeks...Or U could just use coconut oil and lemon juice, every month... Research RUclips! 💕
@@abundance6560 There are RUclips videos on the process, I know that for it to work on black hair, U should wash and dry your hair, apply, leave on for at least an hour.... When U do find what works for your natural hair, spread the word 💕

You are the person who thought me the Hanna and entigo to dye my hair
I've use this method every 3 months
Thank you so much ❤️
Wer we con found indago
Just tried this on my mom following this video step by step and it turned out amazing. I was impressed at how it covered all the white hair completely!
Can anyone tell me WHEN she can wash her hair with shampoo?
Great! She can wash the Hair on day three Shampoo and conditioning. 😀
Oh my goodness her white hair was so BEAUTIFUL! Especially against her complexion! I would not have dyed my hair. I hope my hair gets white not gray.
Ruby Tuesday Actually, EVERY hair gets white, not gray. The white is caused by a lack of colour, it only appears gray because there are hairs with colour in them and white hairs mixed, overall that mixture appears grayish.
Not a fan of white hair, especially mixed with black. It looks like a skunk..

Wow I love it who would have known you could dye hair with natural ingredients
This is wonderful, chemical free and all natural. Good job and thanks for sharing!
This looks SO good. I've done this for years with never the same results.
Does it fade after a while?
Great natural hair dye and a highly enjoyable video to watch.
I loved the way the lady's hair stretched and relaxed in response to both the henna and the indigo :)
An inspring video, young PO. Thank you.
I love that you use organic products!
I’ve been doing the two step henna/indigo hair coloring method for gray hair for five years......Since I have very little gray only place it in the front of my hair....works beautifully.
CAN YIU JUST NOT DO STEP ONE. JUST GO STRAIGHT INDIGO?
@@carsandrajones7596 Unfortunately, no and I have tried. Indigo applied to gray/white hair turns it blue. Henna applied first darkens the white/gray hair and then turns jet black when the henna is applied.
@@MoonLightOnWater1 OKAY THANKS.
@@MoonLightOnWater1 WHAT SHADE OF BLUE SOUNDS INTERESTING?
@@carsandrajones7596 powder blue.....not the look I was going for...😂. AND it is very pronounced and it is permanent....actually it showed where I had gray/white hairs that I didn’t previously notice. I wore it for a couple of days, but quickly applied henna then another dose of indigo to erase it.
Very nice,I like this because she gets right to the point
Wow! That's an amazing technique. How long does the dye last on the hair please?
prophet Mohamed said ( the best thing you can use to dye your grey and white hair is : Henna and Katam ), the Katam have many different names like indigo and wasma, thank you for your great tutorial
wow that was awesome and so natural loved it. I will try it on my hair. Thanks for sharing.
Ruti have you tried yet , if so how is the result
I have been using henna for several years now and it works fantastic HOWEVER ,I notice each time I would get a headache but I thought it was from having the plastic wrap on too tight or from sleeping wrong ....Anyways, since i only use it about twice a year i just dismissed it until YESTERDAY, ....I dyed my hair with the henna and kept it on for 4 hours and I got the worse headache I have in my life....So i will never use it again...This is a great product for those who are not allergic to it...
Your gray is beautiful.
only comment i have is that every one should do a strand test before doing the total procedure i found out that I'm allergic to henna after i used it this was prior to seeing your video looks like you did a great job
sorry to here dear Thanks for letting as Know.
Your client has the same hair texture as I do. I am completely natural.... I love the video! Thank you!
How long does the natural die last
This is the best hair color I have seen. This was awesome!!
It's possible, indigo over henna would die your hair well, henna on its own is a natural permanent dye, but its better to mix our henna with room temperature water instead of lemon because lemon is a super hair bleacher.
Can I mix it with warm or hot water I have grey hairs
I let mine sit on the counter, covered overnight..Best hair color EVER! 💕
Hi Judy Childs....How long does the dye last in hair before re-dying it?
@@abundance6560 That all depends on how fast your hair grows, on average 3 - 4
weeks...Or U could just use coconut oil and lemon juice, every month... Research RUclips! 💕
@@JudyChilds-fu4em Ok thank you so much for the info. I will try the coconut oil and lemon juice as I plenty access to these. Cheers!
@@abundance6560 There are RUclips videos on the process, I know that for it to work on black hair, U should wash and dry your hair, apply, leave on for at least an hour....
When U do find what works for your natural hair,
spread the word 💕
@@JudyChilds-fu4em Ok cool. Appreciate it much! When I try it at least twice I will let you know the results (y)
It was nice seeing your mum on your channel 😊 really sweet
Incredible Henna and Indigo ....and lemon and water..🍋🍋🍋
Wow, that was amazing. Love the no chemicals.
Shoe polish works great and looks just as natural as these methods.
that orange color is actually super pretty! when i've gone gray i'm gonna do that lol
I did it and it works!! Thank you Lady
This is awesome .. if my mom would allow me to do this on her, she would love it because she doesn't like to use chemicals to dye her hair . Just seems like a long process Idk if she would want to lol
It’s very genuine and very effective first henna and then indigo powder which is actually known as natural dyeing agent which is used in many hair colour products and it will effective for at least one month
Wow l like it
I love your accent
TY so much for this my sister has lots if grey hair and used to use store bought hair dye. We think she may be alergic to one or several of the ingredients. This will be a holy grail for her. I will try it and keep you posted on the results.

Hello,Do you have a link to the Henna and Indigo you used for this video?
Praise Onaturals does this work permanently? And does it work on beards?
Now this was an awesome and accurate video tutorial. Thank you. 🙏🏾
I wish she can do my hair! i heard you have to do a deep condition afterwards.
Amazing! And the Client has a nice thick head of hair... beautiful!
Thanks is my MUM 😀
Praise Onaturals - awwww too sweet!😊
Beautiful
Georgeous woman. Don't need any dye.
wow that came out looking really good, I will try it. thank you for this video.
Henna has been around for several thousand years. It was discovered by the Egyptians and can be used to make your hair a lot of different colors. And yes while it is not considered a chemical it is not without its problems.
I used henna on my edges, the color started to fade within 2 weeks. I think this is due to me using gel on my edges@stripped the color
I did my mom's with Henna and water it turned black after 45 minutes... shampooed and conditioned and we were done.
Great video! Thanks for sharing!!
BTW: PEOPLE Read the description box; it does have FAQs.
So it is a 6 hour process
I LOVE IT !!!!!!
ALL NATURAL
