Another very enjoyable piece of footage. I love watching these old videos as i love seeing what thinga used to look like as well old rolling stock. Thanks for uploading this! Absolutely brilliant.
My pleasure. I enjoy looking through my collection while sorting out what to upload as well.....i like to keep the variety up between different modes....
@@jamesmackay4778 In times past i used to seel VHS tapes, and then DVD s of buses and some of my railway & tube vids although now i am happy to put them through RUclips......
Some great videos. I was doing the British Rail scene from 1977 to 1990 when I left the UK for the second time. On my return there was hardly anything left of proper trains. I was from Derby originally so I decided to take a look around Toton depot like I used to in the later 70's. Ride my Raleigh Grifter on to the depot and walk around unhindered like you could at most depots. I couldn't believe it. Locked down like Fort Knox. The Halcyon days are gone. I have a question for you as I saw you have a video plane spotting in Manila. I thought that was a bit of an odd mix. I am interested as I have a home in Philippines. From you Soi name I am assuming you have some connection with Thailand perhaps?
The only connection with Thailand is i like visiting the country! I wanted a random, quirky name for my RUclips channel so decided upon Soi B. I like all transport with my main interest in railways and buses but these days have got into aviation, so i now film planes wherever i get the chance. As i visit the Philippines i film what i find of interest there, like the Manila Railways. I wanted to go back this year and ride to Alabang and see the depot area but that is now on hold of course! A friend was into AEC vehicles so had me film the old lorries and fire appliances back in the late 80s and early 90s, i'm glad that i did now as they are of interest to people. Where are you based in Philly?......
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus Great videos just watching Bristol Temple Meads now. I went there a few times. Love the 50's. Lucky enough to see them all and still plenty of good 35mm photos of them at OC. Not as good as the Deltics though, they were the best ;-)
BR had a few running like that, Cargowagons spring to mind. The BR Pacer DMUs used that sort of single axle underframe which gave them a very bouncy ride at speed on jointed track!
@@jamesfrench7299 I quite liked them as i liked Leyland National buses, a Pacer had two Ley Nat bus bodies back to back basically attached to the wagon underframe. Very cheap & cheerful for the cash strapped BR and they kept some lightly used lines open that may well have closed in the 1980s.....
Question from a railway ingenue, why is it that Class 37s seem to have had such a longer career than other diesel locos? Are they more reliable, more powerful?
For a 1960s design they are fairly reliable plus have a good route availability and can go to most places on the UK rail network. They are middle range power although paired up they can haul heavy trains up to around 2000 tons!
Some class 56 locos will run on. They are to be converted and renumbered as the class 69. They will be owned and run by GB railfreight link below en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_69
No, this is about it! I only got this as my mate's Mum lived in Hartlepool and a few of stayed over and travelled about in his car (that's how i got the Otterington upload on film)....
Yes, i had around 53, 3 hour VHS tapes on BR alone! Then add buses and underground.......But compared to cine film, around £5-6 for 5 min of silent film, £7 for 3 hours with sound was cheap! PLus tape prices actually came down as more people got home video in the 1980s and brough blank tapes. Economies of scale plus lots of companies making them....Big camera mind, compared to today's which slips into a pocket!
As mentioned before I never get bored of watching these old beauties.
Many thanks for sharing m8y.
Thanks for your kind comments.....i have plenty more to upload....so happy viewing!

Thanks for uploading. Never get tired of seeing tractors taking off with a loaded train. Cheers Pete
My pleasure.....i have plenty of vids still come with 37s.....lovely locos that make a lot of noise.....
Hi Soi, will you be making any dvds to sell off all your train journeys and clips?

Wow 🤩 love class 37s and 56s definitely loved watching it 🤗😁😊

Never seen wagons with one axle each end. They make for a different percussive sound on the joins!

Soi Buakhao great buses but not very suitable trains was the consensus. If it kept lines open though, I'm all for them.

Soi Buakhao Plus they look fantastic! Thanks for the answer, just one that the designers got right I suppose.

Yes, i have read about that in Modern Railways. A bit like the class 57s using the bodies of the class 47s.....

You must have spent a lot of money on tapes! Well worth it though, thanks.

These old British Engines sound like trucks
You must have some big trucks where you are then?......
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus in India you can find trucks EVERYWHERE, so I know what they sound like
