I tend to favor boomy adi/rosewood dreads but this koa beauty reallt sings out to me. Something in its clarity just makes me melt.

I too, have mostly spruce/rosewood dreads (one adi). But when I tried out the K14ce Builder's Edition (spruce top but otherwise the same) the volume was good and intonation up the neck was amazing. The notes higher up just *ring* compared to my other guitars. Since the K14ce BE has light strings, I can't pour as much energy into the guitar as I can with the dreadnoughts so I use those when the song calls for a "heavier" hand.

Thanks for the review as always. One suggestion I have is when you play, strumming over the soundhole would be better imo. You play so close to the bridge it sounds more like a banjo at times.

It comes down to one's playing habit I guess. :) Playing too close to the saddle/bridge creates more high-frequency overtones, which are arguably unwanted in many situations...

None of the K24s I've seen look anything like this one.
