  • In this episode, I show how to properly coat a frame in your own garage. No powdercoat or fancy tools. Then I'll show a couple cool things I'm doing to save space in the garage; because I know shop space is limited & precious for most of us. The build in this videos series is a 1940 Chevy 2dr sedan that I am building for my mom and to compete at SEMA 2019 in the Battle of the Builders. Chopped, Bagged, Shaved, smoothed, widened & lots of other metal work coming with this one. Unlike most of my builds, this one will be a shiner!
    The story of the car: My dad bought the shell of this 1940 chevy 2 door sedan in 1990, to build for my mom. Due to financial and health issues, it had been on the backburner ever since. Almost 30 years later and I decided its my responsibility to get this car done for mama. "Tinmama"!This will be more of a conventional street rod. Chopped, shaved, bagged, painted, etc.

      Screw the haters man, can't build a house OR a ride without a good foundation to start one with. You've definitely now got that great foundation solid and well-preserved to build up from. Nice job!!! Now, I gotta go backwards to see what I missed from the past couple of months... 🤓

    Por15 is good shit don't get it on you because that shit is hard to get off it's kind of expensive but it's worth every penny when I use it I brush it on since it don't waste as much plus I use it where no one can see it like floor pans and inside fenders and quarters and frame

    • @Tinman2Kustoms
      @Tinman2Kustoms  5 лет назад

      Right! I usually brush it on too. But for this one I wanted it to be as nice looking as possible. It is a little bit expensive, but it covers very well. Well worth every penny for sure!

    • @Tinman2Kustoms
      @Tinman2Kustoms  5 лет назад

      Not sure. Parts were near 80k. Diesel performance is expensive and I have a ton of add-ons. 4500 hours of labor- that's where shop rate would have killed someone that wasn't building themselves. Realistically it's a 250,000$ build.

    • @Tinman2Kustoms
      @Tinman2Kustoms  5 лет назад +2

      The small notches that are towards the rear of the frame rails? No I'm not. The IRS subframe bolts in and stiffens up the chassis far more than would ever be necessary. I could have theoretically cut out that entire section of the frame rail and it wouldn't have mattered because the subframe on the IRS is in an X shape and holds everything in place.
