Im putting up 10 more this spring. all mine are full already this year and have brought in some very colorful birds some iv never even seen before.i love it. and i know you'll enjoy yours just remember to clean them out at the end of each year when you know the babys are gone. so they can build new next season...
This will be a project I can do with the Grandkids this winter! They love doing crafts and helping animals. I guess I need to buy a smaller container of coffee at couple times so they each have a can. Thanks for the idea Rusty!
One thing i have found si they love the darker colors more then the bright one's i don't know why so i have stopped painting any a bright color. now i do like Black or dark purple or blue or red or green. i stopped the yellow.they wouldn't touch the yellow. or white.
I sure am glad I found your channel, I am going to make some of these with my Grandkids. I seen your comment on Ginger Billy's fishing video and thought, I wonder if The Ozark Dude lives in the Ozarks like I do, and sure enough. Lot's of love from the American Hillbilly and the Hillbilly Nation, Hillbilly Up
We use coffee beans, but this is interesting enough to make me wanna buy a can of coffee. I could handle that type of coffee for a while, if it gets me something cool to build a birdhouse with. :-)
Thank You for your video. I don’t know the time of each year to clean out the birdhouses. I’ve never had a birdhouse before or maintained one. I am about to hang my 1st few.
Best time to clean the nest would be mid January. Some birds use them as overnight accommodation, particularly in harsh winters and you wouldn’t necessarily know that they are doing so on dark mornings and evenings. Apparently, new boxes should be put out about 1st. Feb. as the males are beginning to look for sites by then. I’m told that perches are not necessary as they allow predators to gain a foothold. Hope your initiative proves successful.
No need for a metal washer. drill a tiny hole in any lid. Pop to vodka lids make prefect washers for this project. Only need one screw. Birds will use these homes.
Genius! I am doing this!👍
Thank you! I've learned so much from this video! I've been saving these coffee cans and needed a project 😁
I’m making quit a few! Thank you!! I have the finches back again! Plus numbers us others, and squirrels, so this will be so helpful! Thank you!!

wrong
