    Nice! Good #1 review on this hammer .50. I have this little monster myself. I shoot heavies in mine. It turns into a powerful beast on heavy.Ammo is very hard to get for it though. I may have settled for a .45 in something had I known about the special ammo for it. It takes .510 diameter or little bigger which you cannot use regular .50 ammo in it. Its a .50 BMG sizes. You should let people know about that part. Then you have to measure the barrel bore for correct sizing. The Dragonclaw ammo doesn't work in it either. Ed The Professional Backyard Sniper Man😎✌

    I'm not in the market for anything over .22 cal for right now, but I still enjoy watching what manufacturers are putting out and any new innovations. I might be an UX /AV fan boy though. Lol.

    I shoot the 2 mile king and I have to say, your breathing and having your mouth at least cracked, meaning breathing threw your nose and exhaling out your mouth does a great job. As far as .338 ..50 call no matter if it's air or center fire

    My tiny little Vevor air compressor finally died . 😢 I just ordered a Rov - Air from Pyramyd Air . It just finished filling my Umarex Hammer and something inside popped . I think my car can still charge it , but , I needed a better compressor anyway . It was one of those two component Vevors.

    Nice job Rick. I really appreciate the clear audio especially...makes for a better experience and learning is easier. I am impressed for sure as that was what turned me off about the Texan line: length and huge air consumption per shot. With the Hammer it would be nice to know that you have a solid full power second shot + maybe a third. I am learning my Gauntlet 2 right now and with a few little pieces from Hajimoto it is hole on hole at 50 yards. Trigger is different enough that I need more time on it. Does the Hammer trigger have that same loooooong creep prior to reaching the wall? Understanding of course that we are talking about two different levels of gun.

      That’s why I’m leaning toward a 457 instead. Cheaper to shoot and more variety of ammo. I’m guessing a 457 shoots flatter too

    Thanks for this first part review of the Umarex hammer. The size of this rifle is exactly the reason for me to look in to this one. The Hatsan piledriver is better priced but it's soooo long! It's good you pointed out the air from the breach and not to have you hands close. Now, i do feel its bit weird that an gun is forcing you how you need to hold and shoot it. My bigger concern is the seals of this rifle. This air that is getting out of the breach, is that passing seals? If so, it could mean blown-out seals quite quickly. Hope you can say more about this in your next video on this gun? Looking forward to part 2!

      The Piledriver is more expensive no? I have 5 Hatsan pcps including a Herc Bully 45 and think the Piledriver is an incredible gun, but this thing is sexy and I would also take it over Piledriver for sure.

    How many shots are you getting on a fill?

    • @UmarexAir
      @UmarexAir 3 года назад +1

      Chris, we're getting 3 lethal shots from a full capacity fill. If the pressure is lower than full the 3rd shot can have less air behind it.

    I'm surprised how quiet it is everyone says it's loud but it doesn't sound that loud. I just bought one of these I'm going to be getting it in a few days. I wish I watch this before I bought it, nevertheless I've watched videos of it before and not one person mentioned the air pressure coming out of the magazine area. Thank you for the warning I certainly will be careful and I'm interested to see if they put a warning in their labeling. It seems they should do something about that or supply some type of cover to go over that area or something?
    I have another question is if you have a tank like that how many full power shots can you get out of a full tank before you need to refill and I bought a umarex compressor for the gun can that be used to refill the tank, I am assuming that I would take my time doing so. I'm not going to be doing much target practice I'm going to cite the gun in I'm going to drop me some food and that's about it. So... I probably don't need a tank but I'm thinking about getting a smaller gun to blink around with.
    Anyway thanks and if anybody can answer my questions.
    Great video 👍

    It dosen't sound very loud.
    When you speak about recoil. What would you compare it to in relationship to powder burners?
    Also please elaborate more on what exactly getting "bit " means. Is it a sting, or is it blowing you fingers off.

    • @AirGunWeb
      @AirGunWeb  3 года назад +1

      Getting bit, if you grab the breach could leave a pretty good bruise and hurt for a very long time. If you cup the scope, which is what I did twice in the learning process, feels like a garden hose at high velocity slapped against your forearm. Did not leave a mark, but was sore for about an hour. You don’t want to do it.
      As for recoil, it is not “sharp” like a firearm. It a like a firm shove, about like the force of a 30-06.
      Cheers

    Having the the potential bite right in ones face while shooting is concerning to me. I would imaging its very safe but if something were to fail that close to your face...
    I would be interested in feedback from folks here.
