📌 Frequent questions answered! 📌 Q: Should I send "original documents" as requested by the establishment I apply to? A: Don't send your actual original documents. They need a legalized version of said copy (by apostile, for example). Don't ever send your original documents anywhere. (You most likely won't have them returned to you) Q: Can I apply at mutiple language schools/ universities at the same time? A: Yes it is possible, but I wouldn't recommend to do so. It's better to find one place you like most and apply for that one, with perhaps only one other place if you aren't sure you'll be accepted in the first place you applied to. Q: I need a certificate of (Korean) Health Insurance. How do I get this? A: when applying, if you are already in Korea (since over 6 months and pay KR health insurance), you can simply provide your certificate of Korean health insurance. If you are not in Korea, you should get health insurance from your country that covers you in Korea. Q: Do all my documents have to be translated to English and/or Korean? A: Either English OR Korean will suffice, but yes. They should be translated to either one of those two languages. Q: I want to apply for scholarships, how do I do that? A: There are many scholarships available, from either the government or from the university (or even big companies that sponsor foreign elite students). The easiest way to find out would be to look online which type of scholarships there are, and which requirements they have since the rules and availability change too frequently to write down. Q: "I want to know if has available, please tell me." A: Please check the main pages of your uni of interest. It's important to do research carefully by yourself first to find out what you really want to do. Q: Is there an application fee? A: Yes there is, and it varies from place to place. Usually you pay online at the moment you submit your application. Q: I want to apply but I don't know when. A: Every uni or language school have their specific times of application. It's important to be well prepared in advance. Don't wait last minute to apply. And check online in advance for application dates and deadlines. Q: Where do I find the list of required documents to apply? A: Usually there is a list or file on the website of the establishment you want to apply for called the "application guide" (name can vary) where everything is listed for the upcoming semester. Q: Do they really ask for 10,000$ in your bank account? A: Yes, some even ask for 20,000$ depending on where you apply to. This is to ensure you can afford studying and living in Korea. Be careful, the amount should have been in your or a direct family members' account for a certain time (3 months/ 6 months /...). Check this with the place you apply to. It varies, but only slightly. Q: How can I apply? Can I apply via email? A: All universities and language centers applications go trough online application sites that only open in certain times (in time of application). You can't apply trough email. Hope this clears some things up! :) I'll probably make the list longer as it goes. Good luck everyone!

Hi! I hope this is still helpful to you, for the Korean residence part you should fill in where you plan to stay. For example if you plan on staying at a dormitory, you can fill in the name of that dormitory. Usually it's required to have found a place to stay before you come to Korea, since you need that as well to register for your residence card etc. Be sure to have somewhere to stay before coming to Korea. The options will change along the time passes :) If you want to apply for another semester you can just wait until the moment that suits you. About the application time, there will announcements on the main page of the language school / university of your choice about when the application period opens. I recommend you check that out. Hello!! Thanks for this video!! Is amazing. I was looking for this KLI Regular Program and I wondering If I can study more than a semester (10 weeks) to complete all the levels. Is theres an option or a way to made it?
Thank you :) It's always per semester, so it's either that you apply for one semester, two, or for how many you'd like but mostly there are no programs counted in weeks.
if you finished your months or years in korea as in finished your language course, do you have to go home? because if the people who want to study in korea but have to get the language diploma first, can they stay in korea? or is it like you have to extend your visa constantly to finally ''live'' in korea?
You get a visa for the time you study which is maximum 2 years at a time. Once the expiration date of your visa comes closer you'll have to renew it. Sadly once you graduate, your current visa isn't valid anymore and you have 14 days to leave Korea to avoid penalties of staying illegally. You can change your visa after that but you'll always have to return to your home country to apply at the Korean embassy in your country, and once they approved your (new) visa, you can return to Korea.
You sent your documents to the university after getting accepted or during online application, also you sent your original documents to the university? How to sent documents if we want to apply for more than one university?
Hello. Every university requires documents to be send when applying, those are copies of the original ones (sunch as diplomas or degrees and birth certificate etc). Once you are accepted, you will have to send the original or a legal copy of the original of some documents.
Hello, I just submitted online application and paid application fees. Do I wait for acceptance conformation and then send the original documents or should I just send them right now?

Hi, yes the birth certificate has to be yours (or whoever is the applicant). Don't send the original tho, send a legalized copy of it. For health insurance you can probably just go to your bank and get health insurance for when you go abroad.

Hi, send them an email to ask about your application. I'm not sure how long you should wait for your result since I guess it varies a bit between where you applied to. I hope you can get your result soon :) Good luck!
I am applying for the 2023 Spring KLI Regular Program and when I try to upload files on the application, it does not work. The file upload button does not do anything. Is this supposed to happen? Or am I supposed to upload them in a different way?
Hi. No it's not supposed to happen during the application period. It might be an error, so try refreshing the page and check the dates and times of application well to make sure it's the right time. If you keep getting trouble, contact KLI trough email. (If you send an email, don't just keep waiting if you get no reply and send a follow up email after a few days. Don't wait until last moment of the application period). However applications trough email aren't accepted and have to happen trough the application website/link. Check your computer's connection etc well. Good luck!

Yes, you can apply to multiple language schools, but I wouldn't recommend to do so. Language schools aren't as hard to enter as universities so it's better to choose just one you like and apply for that one considering you'd have to pay an application fee for each application.

@@AbdulSalam-pu5wk yes you also need to send the documents by post. Be sure to NOT send the original documents but copies (legalized by apostile if necessary, you should check that). You won't get any of the documents that you send back trough post, so be careful with that. For the bank account statement, anything shoulf be fine as long as, like you said, it has the required amount on it since the past month. I hope for you that the time to apply isn't too late. I strongly don't recommend to wait until the last days to apply since most copies of documents take time to be legally processed to be equal to the original documents (by apostile).
Hello, i just have a question for everyone that have already apply for a korean school. Do i have to send my real diploma or my final test grade are enough?? Thank you for your answer
Hi, you should never send the original of your diploma when applying. You should send a duplicate with an apostile of any official documents. There is also a checklist with all necessary documents the university needs. You can most likely find that trough the application guide on the website of the university you want to apply to. Hope this answers your questions and best of luck!
With file formats, do you mean the type of file to use when writing, for example, an essay for univ? In that case, Koreans use a specific file called 'Hangul' (the file name is the same name as their writing system), that's a HWP File. But mostly you can just use Word. From my experience some people use Hangul (.hwp) but mainly you can just use Office Word, especially in universities, Word is totally fine :) Sometimes you will be requested to upload a specific file, usually either Word or in a pdf file. I hope this helps!

hi, I came across your video as I’m planning to apply to Yonsei for a language program and later apply for a masters program but I’m a bit confused. Would I have to renew my visa after I’ve completed my language course to apply for a masters program ? I know most uni ask for topik while applying for a program but can I apply for a masters first and then enroll for a language program?
If I want to apply for a korean uni after the language program so do I choose regular language program or the university program? What’s the difference between them..
Hi, so the Korean language program would not be at Yonsei university, that would be at Yonsei language center (KLI). The language training visa (D4) is different from a full time university student (D2). Most univs ask for either a TOPIK (if the major you choose is taught in korean), and/or a TOEFL/TOEIC (if your major is in English). You have to provide either of those or both during your application, before they can accept you as a student. If you complete a language course, and want to study as a university student for a masters program you will have to change your visa from D4 to D2, not renew it. You can choose only one, because university classes, and language school classes aren't the same. You can't do your masters while also enrolling to a language school because those are two different visa types. You can only hold one visa type, so you will have to choose.
@@nicoleefernandes I'm confused with your second question. At the University there are just major programs, no language programs. The language programs are at the language schools (such as Yonsei Language Center). The name has "Yonsei" in it, but that isn't the actual university.
@@kaiawx ahh on the website I came across something called “the university program” I saw it in your video as well. Hi, yes the birth certificate has to be yours (or whoever is the applicant). Don't send the original tho, send a legalized copy of it.
For health insurance you can probably just go to your bank and get health insurance for when you go abroad.
Can you pls share your opinions about personal statement and study plan for ewha.
Hi, those are required for application, right?
This is something only you should do as it is a personal statement, so I can't help with those. But I sure hope you can complete them well!
Good luck!
@@kaiawx yes. I know that thing. But i dont know about what are things i include in my essay. What are the things i mention in essays. In ewha they have any special format for essays. When i check the website i saw word limit is 600 other than that nothing is mentioned there.
@@amiiiiiii729 I'd recommend you type the essay into a Word file or so to keep check on the word count to not exceed 600 if that is what the requirements say.
Tbh it has been years ago since I applied, so the requirements could have changed since then. I remember the essay was to write why the university you apply to should pick you amongst all aplicants.
The study plan is probably still the same. Which is just what the name says: what do you want to study etc. etc.~
@@kaiawx okay i will try to make a good essay. Thankyou for sharing your experience 🥰
Hello mam
I am from India
I apply to Korean language course
But 40 days university is not reply me
Hi, send them an email to ask about your application. I'm not sure how long you should wait for your result since I guess it varies a bit between where you applied to. I hope you can get your result soon :)
Good luck!
Hi! If I'm only applying for one semester do I still need to send my documents via Post? Or is it enough with the online application? Thank you!
Did u find out? lol I also need to apply just to one semestrer, and do u know if to apply for 1 only, u still need the 10.000$ balance or not?
Good luck!
@@kaiawx thank you! i contacted them. Also do you know if photocopies work for apostilles?
I submitted my form, do you know if I have to wait to hear a response from the school before paying the application fee? Thank you!!
Yes you should wait for a confirmation that you passed the application before you pay the tuition. All you have to pay is the application fee :)
KATIA 카티아 great, thank you for the quick response!! I have been trying to pay the application fee, but I was not sure if I have to send the fee in krw? My bank is not allowing me to change from usd! Do you know the easiest way to send it?

It is possible to get GKS scolarship to ewha school, but what should you do first? Applying to the school or scolarship? And how many months before ?
There are specific periods to apply for the scholarships but I don't remember the exact dates. For that you should contact the office of ewha. They can give you all the information you need
@@kaiawx thank you very much!
I know it’s quite late but I wanted to know if you can apply to multiple languages institute at the same time?
Yes, you can apply to multiple language schools, but I wouldn't recommend to do so. Language schools aren't as hard to enter as universities so it's better to choose just one you like and apply for that one considering you'd have to pay an application fee for each application.
how much I would have to submit fee in USD for first semester after accepting the documents?? is there any installment system?? I would have to submit all the fee or just first semester fee ??
Hello. I don't know about the exact fees by now. When applying you will most likely see how much it will cost you.
There is the option to pay the tuition fee in 4 installments, yes. There's no installment for the registration fee.
@@kaiawx thanks Katia they say original documents copies I have original degree and certificates I will scan them and send email of the copies sometimes they say through post what does that mean do they want me to send hard copies through post as well?
@@kaiawx deposit certificate is 10 thousands USD it's mean I would have 10 thousands USD in my account amount should be in account from previous 30 days. I mean if I have to apply today it's 3 November I need to deposit 10 thousands USD on previous October 3 or I can deposit today in my account and apply tomorrow??
@@kaiawx give me your Facebook account I text you there and I will give you my laptop access through anydesk please guide me little I would really appreciate that.
Thanks!
Do you know the exact format of the files?
With file formats, do you mean the type of file to use when writing, for example, an essay for univ?
In that case, Koreans use a specific file called 'Hangul' (the file name is the same name as their writing system), that's a HWP File.
But mostly you can just use Word. From my experience some people use Hangul (.hwp) but mainly you can just use Office Word, especially in universities, Word is totally fine :)
Sometimes you will be requested to upload a specific file, usually either Word or in a pdf file.
I hope this helps!
Do they really ask for 10.000 dollar in your bank balance to be accepted ? Please answer me !
Yes, it is required to apply.
@@kaiawx if u didn't do that price they won't accept you please answer me , because it's axpensive for me there is no solution ??
@@saidamaamar4937 You can borrow money, or you could submit a relative's account. Otherwise you can try applying for one of the scholarships. I don't know about scholarship requirements tho.

Yes

hi, I came across your video as I’m planning to apply to Yonsei for a language program and later apply for a masters program but I’m a bit confused.
@@kaiawx thank you so much this really helped me understand better and answered the questions thanks a lot :)
@@kaiawx ahh on the website I came across something called “the university program” I saw it in your video as well. When I read into it, it said it’s suitable for those who are planning to study in Korea or are already enrolled at a Korean University. I need to ask you some questions if you can help me plzzzz
I want to take psychology for my Bachelor's. Which University should i apply and can i apply now in October 2021?
Hello, to chose your university you can take a look online to find one you find most suitable for you. For the upcoming semester (spring 2022) the application period for Ewha was from beginning September until mid October. I am not sure about other universities application times, so you should check carefully about that.
