    Hi. What is the difference between SAP MM and SAP SCM. Which is more superior? kindly clarify

    • @erpiseasy
      @erpiseasy  2 года назад +3

      SAP SCM is the “master” or top-level process and SAP MM is a core sub-component. SCM manages the end-to-end supply chain processes including forecasting, planning, collaboration, and logistics. On the other hand, SAP MM handles the logistics functions in an overall SAP SCM system.

    • @erpiseasy

      Hi Apoorv,
      Yes, of course you can learn SCM modules while you are working in another job. You just need to manage your time efficiently, depending on how busy your schedule is. Choose an area in SCM that you are interested in and start learning that one. Initially, learn using the free materials and courses. Once you have understood the basics and ready to learn further, go for SAP certifications.
      This is the link to official courses and certifications offered by SAP - training.sap.com/content/sap-logistic-supply-chain
      Good luck.

    As a fresh mechanical engineering graduate interested in SCM, what is your advice to begin a career?
    What are the beginner level jobs?
    How should I start learning the mentioned softwares and should I learn all of them?

    • @erpiseasy
      @erpiseasy  3 года назад +21

      Hi JV, thanks for watching the video and posting the question. As you might have learnt from the video, SCM is a huge topic that involves multiple SAP software applications and business processes. You will need to pick one area first and concentrate on getting better in that particular space. For example, you can choose an area like material management, sales and distrubution, EWM or IBP. These are the areas where i have seen a lot of demand for in India. So choose one in which ever you are most interested in and start learning. Initially, don't spend too much money on courses. Start by learning from free resources or cheap resources like OpenSAP, RUclips and Udemy. Once you have completed all the freely available resources, I would suggest you to look into SAP's training and certification shop (training.sap.com/search?q=supply+chain+&filters%5Bcountry%5D%5BIndia%5D=on). SAP certification courses can be expensive so you will need to learn the basics as much as you can before jumping into the certification courses. Also, on the side, look for an internship with companies in the SCM area you are learning. This way, you can gain practical experience which will help you secure a full time job once you complete your certification and internship.
      Hope this helps. I wish you all the best.

      Hello Mustansar,
      I would suggest you ask the same question to yourself :) "Which modules and certifications I should go for and start with"
      Think about what is your interest. Did you have a favourite subject or area that you were particularly interested in while doing your Masters? If yes, then start learning in those areas. For example, if you are interested in the supply chain planning side of things, then you can learn SAP IBP. If you are interested in Procurement, then you can start learning S/4HANA Procurement or SAP Ariba.
      The following link shows you SAP certifications that are available as part of Supply Chain Management. Please go through each and every course and check the agenda. If you find something related to your interest, then do that certification. training.sap.com/content/sap-logistic-supply-chain

      Hi Asif, Thank you for posting your question. SAP SCM is a great domain and there is definetly growth in it. Ecommerce is growing rapidly and as a result, businesses are looking for innovative ways to send the goods to their customers. So a domain like SCM will grow a lot moving forward.
      Regarding pay hikes, my personal experience is, people get paid more for having skills like good communcation skills, ability to listen, willingness to learn, good customer support skills, good consulting skills and finally having empathy for customers. Technical skills comes last which is the easiest to learn.

      Hi, thanks for your question. Demand for SCM has been increasing in general due to increased e-commerce activity. I would suggest you to start with S/4HANA logistics. Then try to learn Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Transportation Management (TM). All the best.

    Hello Sir, Thanks for the useful video , Whats the software we should buy to Train Students on SAP-SCM

      Hi, thank you for your comment. It would depend on what part of SCM you are teaching your students. If it is about Procurement, then you should look into SAP Ariba. If it is about planning then SAP Integrated Business Planning. If it is about transport management then SAP TM or SAP EWM, so on and so forth.

      Hi, I would say it depends on your interest. SAP SCM is a huge topic and there are so many modules and sub modules involved. For example, if you are interested in the planning side of things, then SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) would be a good product to learn. If you are interested in the transport side of things, then you may want to look at SAP TM (Transport Management) and EWM (Extended Warehouse Management). So on and so forth.
      Have a look at this SAP Certification Shop. They have provided information on what is taught under each course. Probably that will give you an idea of what you are interested in. Choose that course and give it a go. training.sap.com/content/sap-logistic-supply-chain

      Hi Aakash, Thank you for your comment. As you may know, supply chain management is a vast area covering multiple topics like supply chain planning, logistics, manufacturing, R&D, Quality Management, Procurement, Asset management and many more. My recommendation would be to choose any one particular area so that you can specialise in that one. You have mentioned that you are learning six sigma which is a methodology that is widely used in the manufacturing and quality management areas. So if you are interested in quality management, take a look at the courses offered by SAP in that area. You can find official SAP courses in this link training.sap.com/content/sap-logistic-supply-chain
      SAP is used widely in the supply chain management industry. So take a look at the courses offered by SAP in that space and puruse the one which you are most interested in. :)
      Good luck.

      Hi, The demand for roles in a particular country varies from time to time. So, it is hard to point out just one module which is in demand in Germany at the moment. I would suggest you to take a look at the job portals for the type of roles that are in demand in Germany. Then go through the agenda of courses in SAP training and certification shop to get an idea of what course you may want to do. training.sap.com/certification/
