Thumbs up for having Cauldron in the thumbnail! I loved that game. And Cauldron II… CPC6128 - my first computer. Word processing, disk hacking and graphics. It carried me through university in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Long before I bought an Intel PC and subsequent Macs…

It's amazing that such an old membrane keyboard still works. Similar PC keyboards are usually ruined after a few years. I would probably give the plastics a bit of silicone oil to prevent it from drying out. Good work!

Nice to see a fellow Northern Norwegian retro computer «addict». Lots of great videos here on your channel! You mentioned that the ability to run CP/M is one thing that distinguishes the 6128 from the 464. This is not completely true, as the 464 is fully capable of running CP/M, as long as you have a floppy drive for it. CP/M came bundled with the floppy kit for the 464. It was however CP/M 2.2 while the 6128 can run CP/M 3.0 (also called CP/M+). Keep the great videos coming!

I'm surprised CP/M didn't come with BASIC. Several versions I worked with had some version had some kind of BASIC. Still, most writing had programs written in 8080 assembler and you did find that. LOGO - - that's colder than Hammerfest in the worst part of winter!!!

Nice start to the video with the shot of Bodø. I've wanted to visit Norway since I worked for a Norwegian owned oil and gas company but unfortunately never got the opportunity.

Sad story about Gary Kildall. I remember him from "Computer Chronicles". You should check a few episodes out. There are some on RUclips.

LOGO: I remember being aggravated by LOGO on the Commodore 64 and every command started coming up "There is no procedure named..." So I see this and I think, "Yup, that's LOGO!!!"

The reason why 'setpc' isn't working with numbers bigger than 3 is that mode 1 (320×200), which is what it's running in currently, only supports four colours, 0-3.

I hope you backed up your only disk to two Gotek disk images.

Which gotec did you use ? Some friends of mine have tried installing one in their Amstrad 6128 with no luck.

Did I see a hint that we're going to see some CP/M action? You'll be the only CP/M user above the Arctic circle on the entire planet running CP/M in that geographical region. You'll go down in history like Roald Amundsen for your pioneering Norwegian OS Arctic explorations. That is unless the Russians are still running CP/M on their submarines.......Your computer restorations will be placed alongside the Kon Tiki! ..... Now there's an OS I'd love to see run on your old 8 bit hardware.
