  • Reverse engineering isn't such a straight forward processes sometimes. While most objects are made of prismatic, simple shapes there are times we'll need to remodel an organic or freeform shape. This can be difficult to be done using basic modeling tools inside SOLIDWORKS, but there are add-ins to help in this process. Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS is one such add-in that lets you import large mesh files, edit the mesh, and extract CAD objects from it. In this video we'll go over the process to extract freeform surfaces to create hybrid models inside SOLIDWORKS and how to validate our model using the deviation analysis tool.
