- This is how i do it and it's been working out for me so far. I know there are several methods out there, so use the one that works for you! Why not just use a laminator? You can but I prefer not to because it leaves a visible border of around the sticker.
Why not just use a laminator? You can but I prefer not to because it leaves a visible border around the sticker and it’s very unsightly in resin
What’s the spray called? Thanks
miko sealer spray?
Great tips
@@egmikola or just get an acrylic spray
Thank you
you can do whatever you want. Like i said in the video, this is how I do it. ;)
I didn't even know you had to seal stickers before putting them in resin, so thank you so much for this! I plan to try resin some time in the future, and I feel better prepared already :)
This is an AWESOME idea! I have done just the mod podge and just the tape and I didn't care for either result. Now I have a GREAT alternative! Thanks for the tip!!!
It's been 7 years and u still answering comments, thats epic lol. Thanks for ur video.
no wonder why your resin pieces are so beautiful! you take so much time and effort to make them that way :) thank you for the tip!
I absolutely love your voice. Nice tips
Oh man, this works out very well! I have been saving my small plastic casings to hold glue and TLS, but they will work for this as well! I haven't made resin yet and am watching a lot of videos before making my first one. This is like the 4th on from you that I've watched and you have helped out a lot. THANK YOU ^_^
Me too :D
I needed this too! XD Thanks Amy! I printed out some images and just covered them with mod podge, but the edges curled up in the resin and I could no longer push them down. :( Next time I will attach them to some plastic and seal them with the spray. :) You are the resin genie! So many times you have made my own crafting experience better. ^_^
Thanks! I needed this in my life! Incredibly helpful and I’m happy.
Those stickers are ADORABLE. and thanks for the tutorial! Very helpful! : )
Adorable stickers.....great tutorial!
Can you see the strokes of the glue through the resin? Thank you!
i started using contact paper and i like it , it works pretty dog gone good, just seal around it really well then leave and edge around it. i get the rolls of contact paper at the dollar tree
Thanks because I didn't have a circuit just yet to use the transparency stickers. I have alot of stickers from my planners that I could use now thanks to your video!
you can triple thick or other water based glazes
yea. it should work. But transparencies are expensive.
you dont have to if you dont want to. This is how i do it and it works for me. I think it give extra protection if the mod podge fails.
Thank you this video was extremely helpful. Looking forward to trying this method on an idea that I have in mind.
depends on the sticker. Some paper stickers with coating are fine, some are not. Some stickers are make of PVC or foil, which you dont have to seal.
what if sticker are 70% waterproof? do i need to seal it first? sr for my bad english TTvTT hope you can see my concern and help me, thank u💕
Thanks for this tip will definitely try this method
You are so good at resin!
does it show in resin?
i also wanted to know, do you think it would work if you just used a couple coats of modge podge instead of the spray
Thank you for posting this :) whenever I am able to buy resin I will use this method and it's a great way to reuse plastic haha
Have you ever thought of using those plastic folder sheets that you save pictures and documents in. Just thought they would be way easier to use and cut. Just an idea
The stickers are so Cutttteeeee!!! Thanks for the help!!!
These stickers are awesome!!!!
Are there any alternatives to the clear plastic you used?
Thank you so much for sharing! Very helpful as always!
Thank u so much for the tip. I find when i do mod podge by itself, sometimes i have issues with the sticker curling up. This method will definitely address my problem. I cannot wait to try it. I was beginning to get frustrated with paper stickers and wanted to avoid them altogether...no bueno. So thank you!
I do all of this and I put the resin(I use the uv one) torch bubbles and everything..but, when I put it under a uv light it starts to create some bubbles, mostly in the middle of the sticker...😢
Can you do this with clear sticker paper?
I use the same plastic sheet the stickers come on, it works just as good:) sometimes i brush diamond glaze on my stickers and that works pretty good too:)
it depends on the brand and the size. Also price can range depending on the store.. I'd say it can range from $15-40
Ohhh those stickers are so cute :)
Great! I had a completely over engineered process. Thank you.
If I don't do the spray coating, will the sticker still be stained?
No, the spray is just for extra protection :)
maybe. Or it could be the type of plastic you used? i dont know
Can I substitute the spray with brushing on mixed resin? But of course still put on modge Podge on before.
you can just do mod dodge but do many layers before the resin
Omg Thank you..... Thank you..... Thank you for making this video. I have a bag full of pieces that I just don't like because the resin was bleeding through.
Can we seal paper with lamination?
Do you think transparency plastic would work?
I do something very similar, but I use packing tape instead of plastic. So funny cause I was going to ask if you ever found a method you liked for sealing stickers, then I saw this video. Thanks for the tips, I absolutely love your channel & Instagram! Is the Sally piece in this video available to purchase? That is my favorite Sally pose!!!
Can regular glue substitute the modpodge?
New to resin casting, can I use waterslide stickers?
I'm only doing 1 project need help for on decal usage.
Do you have to spray the sticker with the spray?
Can you use glaze?
i was wondering do u have to use the spray glaze to get full protection?? can we use lamination and then cut it out?? n put into the resin??
You're so talented! I want to start resin soon, but I just haven't bought any resin yet! You're tips are very useful. In the future I will definitely be using your resin tutorial! I just have a quick question, about how much does resin cost? Anyways thanks for all of your tutorials and tips!!!
Will this work with uv resin
Could you use report covers as well since they are a thin plastic ?
Did you try with transparent nail polish???? 💅🏻
Does that work?
If I wanted to use something without a sticky backing, such as origami paper, do have any suggestions, or have you tried that? Thanks so much!
Yes, just use the decopage medium like modpodge to stick the paper onto plastic film
Awesome! A lightening fast reply, too. You’re fabulous. This technique matters a lot to me, I want to make jewelry out of some of my beautiful origami paper collection. I watched every video I could find, but I wasn’t satisfied with the results. How clever of you to crack the code! And generous of you to share. All best! ❤️❤️❤️
can i do this with regular printer paper as long as i seal with mod podge?
Yes of course
What if the sticker has a plastic over it? Is Mod Podge still needed?
Yes, because the edges are still exposed
@@AmyMade if I get Mod Podge spray would I just spray and no brushing? Would it still work well and cover it?
Is the spray a glaze?
Would tacky glue be a good substitute for mod poster?
Mod podge *
Absolutely!
Thank you so much!
Can you use clear nail polish?
Hmm I don’t know. I assume it would stain the stickers. You would have to test it out yourself.
@@AmyMade I don't make resin art. Just like watching the videos.
Can I use pvc glue to seal the stickers instead of mod podge? Mod podge isnt selling in my country and it's too expensive online
i believe this video will help solve your problem
Can u use like tripple thick
yup
My sticker bleeds when I put modpodge over it. o.o any help or suggestions or any ideas why?
Do you do that with all your stickers? Or just specifically for the paper stickers? Because I don't modpodge any of my stickers and my projects come out fine.
Do I need to seal puff stickers?
Only if they’re made of paper
what type of sealing spray can i use?
GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't it be cheaper and less bothersome to just buy a laminator?
Peekaboo - No you can buy them at any Craft Store or even from any dollar store or even bubble gum machines at just about any food stores I.e. Safe-Way Big - 8 Wal-Mart etc,and they have a wide variety of unusual, different stickers figurines (tiny plastic toys) ......and a laminator is not always necessary, you can use Mod-Podge or whatever....
Peekaboo I’m also curious about that
Yea it would lol
I'm wondering if there would be the same halo as the packing tape method with a laminater?
I have an laminator didn't think about using it
i'm sure you can. I never used it in resin, so i dont know how it will look
Could I use that spray if I were to cover a metal water bottle with stickers? All the stickers already have a shiny layer on them (I bought them) do I don’t think I need to mod podge it. I wanna make sure they stay on when I wash the bottle tho
karla chavarria if they are vinyl stickers, they should be fine. If they are paper stickers with shiny layer on top, water may ruin them
Can I not leave borders or will it open the sticker for air and for resin to seep in?
Can I also use acrylic spray for sealant?
It may seep. Also sometimes the acrylic spray can stain the stickers as well, better to do a test run first
yes
it can depending on your background, if it is real dark it can, but most of teh time i cant see it
Can you use like paper as the sticker for this method?
where u get the stickers from
Great video, will the plastic show if the background is clear? No color of glitter. I was asked to seal in a business name sticker and it would need a clear background to see it
Yes it will show on a completely clear piece
@@AmyMade
Thank you do you have any suggestions it’s a special sticker to him of his first business and I’m scared to mess it up
Amber Ferran I wouldn’t recommend putting it in resin if that is the only sticker you have. I would highly suggest having multiples in case you mess up. You can try brushing the sealer on the sticker by itself and do multiple coats on the front, back and the edges.
@@AmyMade thank you for your honesty and advice
Can I skip the spray step? And just apply mod podge. Thanks
miro maro the spray adds more protection. Sometimes modpodge alone is not enough. But you can always test it to see for yourself
I am so excited I actually was wondering the other day if I could do something like this because I didn't like the straight mod podge or tape methods either. do you know if the plastic that stickers come in can also be used for the back?
Do you use a sealant spray? If not What??and what are the other spray can i use instead of the spray you use??? Thank you So much
Could you just laminate the stickers, leaving a border around the edge when you cut it out ? Thanks :D
can I brush on the glaze instead of spraying it?o?
Do you have to laminate your stickers? I notice on some of the other videos they don't laminate.
Only paper stickers should me sealed
@@AmyMade thank you I was getting confused. I try to laminate some stickers I created on the computer with Mod and it erase everything.
Love the stickers
How long did you wait between two coat of mod podge?I appreciate your tutorial. Thank you 🙏
Until it was dry to touch
And can I use regularly glaze?
What can I use if I don't have modpodge?
You can use pva glue but can’t guarantee same results
Super helpful thanks hun 😁💋
are paper stickers sticker flakes?
What if you have fabric type stickers?
Are the stickers Matte or glossy? Does that matter?
Tiffany Hendrickson it doesn’t matter because the resin could still soak from the edges and stain the stickers
I'm thinking about doing epoxy resin on tables with rock band posters and such. I am wondering how im going to seal them any ideas for a much larger surface?
for your project, glue the posters on the table and seal with few coats of modpodge. No need to use the plastic sheets since you're just coating with resin instead of embedding it
Will laminating the stickers work as well?
Yes
zombify6 yes
how does it look like if you used elmer's? I don´t have mud podge around here
Any glue that turnns transparents from white after drying would work like german glue that s whaat i can find here
How do you get the paper from curling up when resin is applied
How are you applying it? I need specific details in order to help you.
Crafter's Delights by Amy I start by Putting the resin in the middle. My images are also on card stock
hsharkey are you pouring the resin on it or embedding it in a mold? Maybe try waiting for the resin to get thicker before adding the sticker
Crafter's Delights by Amy I pour the resin on it, I don’t have specific molds for the shapes I’m making
I really wanna see how you put resin on the stickers which are free form .Do you drop resin on a lil bit at a time or you just pour it all over and then trim it later ?
coffeebreakie you would dome it with resin. So yes drop a little bit at a time while maintaining the surface tension of the the resin at edge of the sticker
I notice that on some of my charms I can still see a little outline of my stickers if I hold the charm at certain angles. Is that normal? Is it even possible to actually not see sticker outlines at all?
The sticker itself will still be visible because it’s paper unless you cut the out line before sealing it
@@AmyMade I guess what I'm saying can a customer detect the outline of our stickers? Is it totally impossible to make the frame or the outline of a sticker completely invisible?
I’m a bit confused. Are you taking about the outline of the plastic film being visible? Or are you talking about the sticker itself??
@@AmyMade right the outline of the film! I want to sell these but maybe folks won't by them if you can see the plastic film at certain angles.
I don’t think an average Jane would look at it that closely to be honest. We notice it because we’re the one making it lol. If you put a glittered background it will be less noticeable
Awesome! I gotta try that!
very helpful, how long does this take you?
Where can i get the plastic from??
