Love that ocean kitty cat …he turned out absolutely gorgeous!!!! Daniel Cooper is an amazing resin artist & his experiments are always top notch plus he’s hilarious. You got yourself another SUBSCRIBER !!!! Love you channel ….thanks for sharing these beautiful kitty cats ❤🥰❤
I love orange kitty. And ocean kitty. Okay, I love them all. I did notice when the yellow was added to orange kitty, it spread quickly, especially when it met the orange/red color.
Hi! lol, I really love the orange kitty, as well! And yes, you are right! I think the yellow is thinner somehow… definitely want to keep playing around with the colors. Thanks so much for sharing! 🙏🥰
ever try dropping mica powder in resin? it has some rather cool effects, you drop little clumps onto the surface then poke it a bit to get some to sink or leave it be if its a slower curing resin. some will stay on the surface but you get random patterns with the stuff that sinks and moves about on its own. you will need to leave space for a sealing coat on the surface .
Piniata sinker white works a whole lot better than Let's Resin sinker white. If you notice, Daniel Cooper makes his own sinker white. I like the orange, brown, yellow one the best.
Hi Ali, I don't make my own for normal Petri vids or with the hairspray trick, it's just the Let's Resin C Deeper 😁 Piñata is good if you want deeper spores or have a high viscosity resin, otherwise, you can mix 50/50 with isopropyl for a less blobby effect 🥰
Hi Ali! Ah yes, I have seen Daniel’s vid making his own sinker white, which is so cool 🤗 I definitely just followed his lead with the hairspray effect and used the Let’s Resin. Piniata sinker is great as well. I have so much more experimenting to do lol! I LOVE the orange/yellow/brown kitty also, the effect is super cool - thank you so much!! 😊🥰
Ooh yes, brown one is definitely most “cat-like”! I haven’t tried petri effect with UV.. have a feeling it will interfere with curing, but might have a go! 😂🤗 thank you!! 🥰
@neverperfectresin1700 since my original question, I have watched Daniel Cooper on using hairspray with uv resin. Doesn't give the same effect and can be dangerous as it heats up the resin. Guess I'll be buying epoxy resin for this technique 🤣
Your sinker isn’t working properly. Do try shaking the bottle or something before you use it. The cats would look awesome if the petri effect was more than 1 mm deep.
@@neverperfectresin1700 aren’t we all! I hope you don’t think I was overstepping, it’s maybe just not a good sinker you are using. The cats honestly would look amazing, they are cute just now tho!
@@lilmsmetal haha, nooo, I always appreciate honest and good feedback!! 🙏 I also think my timing is still off when I go in with the sinker and inks. Maybe waited too long so resin was not behaving…
Too cute! I think the timing was a little bit off. I tried a set of aliens & skulls and set a timer for dropping inks at 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes etc.. my best spores without the white dropping down to the bottom was around 25 minutes. But that was mid winter.. bc the same timing in the summer had the white blobs. Viscosity is a thing. I did the test again and it 15 to 20 minutes for good results in both. I use that same set of molds from let’s resin when things get weird or I’m using a new resin to run the test again. Taking notes keeps it more consistent. All of the aliens & skulls look cool. I still put magnets on them and people think they’re amazing.. but I know what they should look like 😂😂 and it bothers me. I usually give them to the kids/teenagers who rave about them. LOL The value of running the tests pieces is the point.. it’s soooo interesting. Even at 30 min where nothing happens the results are still beautiful.. Happy Arting 🌹
Hi Debra!! Omg, thank you for all of this feedback!! I definitely need to do more tests with my timing- this pour was definitely 30+, which was risky for sure 😂 I do the same thing with my test pieces! Always giving them away to my kids and their friends- they love them! 🤣 I would love to see your skulls!! Happy crafting to you!! 🥰💕
@@neverperfectresin1700 yes indeed! Also the hairspray.. maybe count how many seconds you hold the trigger for each test, (holding it the same way each time).. surely it not only keeps the colors separated but also makes them harder to drop the spores. It prob makes the time even shorter by 5 minutes or so of what we would normally see perfect spores without the white hitting the bottom. So yah that’s another test.. maybe cover the pieces with a papers and give one a 1 second burst..then cover that and move over one & do a 2 second burst, then a 3 etc.. it won’t take many to see where the sweet spot is 👌 That along with the 5 minute increments of ink dropping will help a lot. For me anything before 10 minutes and the white fell straight down, anything after 25 minute mark nothing sinks. My sweet spots are 15, 20, 25 minutes, depending on the season bc the resins so thick in winter or thinner in summer. ~~Another thing I find interesting is how everyone gives the piece a stir/swirl after an hour. I rarely do this and most of the pieces look like an alien planet with a Stonehenge in them of some sort. I notice when Daniel stirs he has an angle to his tool instead of straight up n down. I’ve always wondered if he knows he does this or if it’s on purpose😅 I love leaving them as they are bc they look organic like some dreamy distant places. Anyway I’m rambling.. love your art style.
